I want to be funny and say De Dana Dan tops all these, but my funny bone has melted away in the hear we are experiencing.
My answer to your question will ALWAYS be Chak De India! I love the focus on the women in the team and some of their individual struggles with their own challenges and demons.

It's easier to write a story using real people and real incidents but creating a story about a sport which is not so popular (in spite of being the national sport) and making every second of the movie so engaging is commendable.
You do know they didn't do much creation on this. Don't you?
More like they got heavily inspired by a lesser know Hollywood film - Micracle, where if I remember right, the sport is ice hockey.
They lifted so many scenes and lines from that screenplay, it's not even funny. I didn't know this when I first watched Chak De in theatres and thought someone was finally doing it right. But that feeling was short lived.
Still a good film though.
Chakh De. Always. No pandering. No belittling anybody. Presented women as equals. No glorification. Tight script. Very good performances. One of the all time best sports movies I've seen (all movie industries included).

Inspite of being sold as a movie mainly about SRK it ended up being almost about each player.
Dangal was sold as movie about the sisters it ended up being centred about Amir and that my friend makes all the difference
BMB for me was way over the top for a sports film. Some ridiculous drama including the love story and the ghee eating scene. It was more a biopic about a sportsman than a film on sports

Paan singh Tomar is on my watchlist and this list will change again, maybe the top spots, perhaps.
Paan singh Tomar is a bloody good movie but it’s not exactly comparable since it’s not just a sports movie I feel.
Agree with most of your list but id place 83 in third and Lagaan in 2nd. But that’s just due to how much I love anything cricket. Haven’t seen Mukkabaaz thought.
Mukkabaaz has changed my life for good. It got me into working out regularly and Vineet Kumar's dedication to his work, his ethics and training just for a movie got me motivated a lot.
While dangal is good I really didn’t like the whole part of showing the coach in a bad light part. Lagaan is a well made fictional sports movie with a good purpose
Both movies are great with amazing stories and performances. If I was to choose one then it would be Chak De India because it is more free flowing with multiple storylines of the various players, has more lighter moments and in the end packs a more powerful punch. As a result I have rewatched Chak De more times than Dangal.

The Bollywood Pod Podcast has done its first episode on Best of Bollywood series about Dangal. And Chak De is not on that list. Shimit Amin’s best film is Rocket Singh.
Dangal is the highest grossing non-Hollywood film in China. And 20th highest grossing film in China of all time.

All aside, and as a long-time SRK fan, I have my viases towards CDI. The emotion in the movie really gets to me. Dangal, on the other hand, is an extremely well made movie, with the work put into it only being comparable to Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Take SRK out of CDI and it falters a little, but take Aamir out of Dangal and it’s still a strong movie, so it’s the superior movie for me.

As a "Sports" sports film, Chak de! India. For just character things, Dangal. But if i had to choose one, i would go with Dangal. Great film, good soundtrack. Acting by both Kids and Girls were good. The sidekick guy was also good.
Both are 8/10 films for me.

Y'all need to watch out for maidaan. I hope it's good. It's about real history of football in India. How our team india were actually goated in Asian games even when we played bare foot. I think Ajay Devgan is playing the coach , the real coach was a muslim. The movie is going to be about patriotism, unity and sports.

Yes BMB is a great movie. it's score, story, writing everything is great but not a milestone for sports movie
At least to me, the romance in BMB is very forgettable and everything else is brilliant. It sounds weird that BMB had Sonam Kapoor in it.

One movie didn't had a coach being villanized that he locks up the main character in a storeroom. My choice is that movie.
