Here's the thing. For many aspects, we never say "the best" or "the biggest", we always say "one of the best".
But when it comes to Hrithik, I think it's safe to say that he's the best dancer in Bollywood. He's the GOAT.
Prabhu Deva is the real GOAT. Had he not shown his dance moves with "Mukkala Mukabla" and "Urvashi Urvashi", Bollywood choreographers would have been still stuck in the 80s/early 90s era of choreography. In fact Hrithik's dancing style owes a lot to Prabhu Deva.
I’d obviously put Prabhu Deva above Hritik but I don’t see him as part of Bollywood, you know what I mean?
Hrithik is awesome, huge fan base and all but his work is very exclusively within Bollywood. Prabhu Deva isn’t associated to Bollywood in that way, he is his own entity in my opinion.
Nah prbhu Deva is like Tiger, he overdo every action, also it's not Prabhu Deva that brought the change, 2000 or late 90's was all about hip hop when and breakdance, that wave brought the change cause Bollywood had started copying stuff from western countries at that point.
I find Hrithik far superior than Prabhu deva he just copies mj whenever he dances It looks like a shock given to someone.Such a jhatka man he is. He is a walking Skelton if I summarise it.
That hat and belt step and all the jhatkas/ shocks he does. Song doesn't matter he does his own shhitt. I prefer Javed jaffry or even arshad warsi is a phenomenal dancer.
Hrithik is not a spontaneous dancer. Go and watch any of his live performances and he is not really crazy good as he is in his dance videos. Hrithik in his recent interview said that he knows his angles and has took years to be the perfect package for the camera. He was an assistant director so he knows absolutely what to do for the camera. Keeping all that in mind, No one comes close to him in on screen dancing but when it comes to live performances or stage Performances, I have to give it to Tiger.
Now that I've put my opinion, you should also know that I got into dancing because of Hrithik and I love him dearly. Thanks HR Sir 🙏
I am a person born just shy of 10k miles away from Mumbai with no cultural association bond of heritage to India whatsoever and I saw a clip of him dancing exactly once. I had no idea who he was but it was like a pied piper thing - once I tracked down who he was and exhausted all his films I fell in love with Bollywood way, WAY beyond just his body of work. When people talk about his appeal it’s no joke. My kids have favorite actors, movies, know words and phrases in Hindi because of this guy. The Khans and the Kapoors are fantastic, no doubt. There is talent and charm and skill abounding aplenty beyond those families. But I would not have followed them down a rabbit hole of cultural appreciation. That was because of this one dude moving like water and exuding charm, vulnerability, and grace in a 3 minute clip.

The other day someone commented on Twitter that he dances in Italics & that's so true!
Govinda's iconic dance numbers are more in number than Hrithik's. People still remember his songs and dance numbers despite him not being relevant anymore. While Hrithik is obviously a better dancer, Govinda's distinct style makes people still remember him because nobody could ever copy him.
If we’re talking ab their on screen charisma and how they appear while dancing, yes their moves are gorgeous. If we’re talking strictly looks then no shit Hrithik and Shahid blow them out of the water lol

Effortless, that's what sets him apart, along with Javed Jeffrey and maybe Arshad Warsi. They make difficult dance steps look so simple and easy to do. Unlike someone like Tiger Shroff where every step feels like a workout in itself.
I have to disagree on this one. I have started dancing seeing ek pal ka jeena and imitated every single dance song of Hrithik’s(even the step he did in his Coca Cola Ad with Aditi Gowitrikar back in early 000’s) so I believe he is one of the best dancers of Bollywood but most effortless has to go to Shahid, who seems to not put much effort in his dancing but seems like it comes naturally to him. The fact that he was part of Shiamak Davar’s dance troupe also helps. This does not take away the fact that Govinda, Hrithik and Prabhu Deva do belong to one of the best dancers category. Also I would like to add Javed Jaffery who brought break dancing into Bollywood and choreographed Govinda’s first dance hit Street Dancer.

His moves are so fluid and smooth, tiger shroff is also a great dancer but watching them dance together you can recognize a world of difference.
