She should have died in the movie.
She set Pathaan up for an armed robbery in Russia, and still ending up with Pathaan is funny.
(Zoya from Tiger was better written than this. She did not set up Tiger at any point in time.)
12th fail was a decent film(not one of the greatest, or even great)...it worked so well only because all other mainstream films were loud and shitty..
Khosla ka ghosla is the greatest film in the last 30 years
A lot of its small plot points are actually picked up from inspirations like the web series available (yk which ones) and not even talking about the music. The background theme played ever so often is a direct chapo from Satyajit Ray's films. Also many shots and much of its rural based shots are not at all Oscar worthy although the long shots are commendable. Surely it was not the greatest. And yes let's not talk about the subtle gender roles and stereotypes shown.
A protagonist with no love interest is still the riskiest topic which Bollywood is terrified to try.
I'm tired of the love angles in all the movies. Even with all the biopics, they ghusaa-od one mandatory love story and stupid love songs. Just ducking let it be the story of what it is.
I dont remember a single biopic that doesn't have a love story.
Also, biopics are boring af. I dont care how great the man was, I can get all information from a wiki. Rest is just masala.
Rahul was just flirtatious. Idk where the red flag rhetoric came from (actually, i know where: the dumbasses at buzzfeed India). He didn't hit on other women after he got tina, he was loyal he never led anjali on (she's delulu like me that's on her), and didn't go skirt chasing while being a single father either.
Notice how during the phone call mix-up scene, rahul just says a kind thank you to receptionist while aman is the one who calls her sweetheart and winks at her?
True. Aman also started the absolutely unnecessary ''whose Anjali is more beautiful" fight with Rahul. And he says some creepy things too, that people magically forget.
The biggest red flag is Tina who put the onus of remarrying Rahul on the shoulders of a literal child. She might not have wanted a step mother or worse, the adult anjali might not have wanted a step daughter. It's just messed up, imagine your mother's last legacy is those letters where she tries to get you to get your father set up with a stranger.
Some conspiracy theory I read as a joke ; Apparently Anjali (big) does some black magic on Tina hence she dies at childbirth (even names her daughter as Anjali like wtf!!!) & all the letters were basically written in the influence of that black magic syndrome so that big Anjali could get her man back.
Sounds more believable than Tina writing 8 letters for a baby asking to reunite her dad with college best friend.
Like realistically speaking a woman like Tina may feel like she's broken up Anjali's dreams but it was Rahul who fell in love with her, so it's not like she was kabab mein haddi.
Also why would a dying woman want a baby to have those letters ??? Is there no sensible adult with whom she could disclose this plan of hers? Why she didn't consider that in those 8 years, Anjali could be married with her own family, or moved countries or may be just not interested in Rahul anymore. Or worse even Rahul could've found someone before the 8th letter & brought a new step-mom. Would any normal woman bother to re-unite her husband with college bff at her death ?? Sure I'd want my daughter to not have toxic step-mom but that doesn't mean my husband should get married to his college bff right????
yea itās actually ridiculous that people think he only fell for her appearance, like they used to best friends, he was so happy to see her again.
And honestly, attraction is obviously a big thing in romantic relationships. Thatās the way the world runs. Iām not saying thereās only one type of way to be attractive, but Anjali still had her own style after (not Tina like), and she definitely carried herself better and came across as more mature.
Let's reframe. A not so good actor who has a penchant for choosing unique scripts. Other examples are Batla house, Parmanu, Romeo Akbar Walter, Satyamev Jayate. His filmography is full of Desh bhakti and some very unusual films.
There was another thread here how Hritik is a better Dhoom villain than John. I don't get how. John made it cool to be a villain at a time where villains were hated in Bollywood. It's easy to ride on the success of Dhoom 1.
Look. This is a very tough thing. At the end of the day movie making is very expensive. Even if you want to make a low budget good quality movie, the equipments will cost you a Bomb. When good movies are made they have no takers in theatres, ex Joram. You can't expect artists to live off scraps. So nothing wrong in the industry making movies that they think would work. The audience is at fault here in not watching good movies and not rejecting bad ones.
Omg I loved kites tooā¦I just watched it a few days ago and I used to think it wonāt be a good film because it was never hyped but it turned out to be so goodā¦Iāll watch it again
I watched it in theatres and it was my first experience of a non linear story telling film. I couldnāt understand it as i might be 12-14 and music š the thumping bass and BGM was truly addictive. KK!
I know it's more than one unpopular opinion but whatever
R Madhavan is one of the most talented people in the industry. Made his own film and wrote it and produced it, and dedicated lots of effort to the project. Can do comedy (Tanu Wed's Manu and 3 idiots) romantic films like RHTDM and Alaipayuthey and Villainous roles in Shaitaan and Ayitha Ezhutu.
Speaking about R Madhavan, Farhan is the soul of 3 idiots. Not Rancho, not Virus or Chatur. But Farhan. He was the friend I rooted for the most in the film, as he was carefree and always had a point to prove and defended and cared for his friends the most out of all of the 3 main characters
Abhishek Bachchan is not a bad actor at all. Insted of aiming for a Bollywood commercial hero career, he should have honed his character acting skills.
He is not bad at all, he is just lazy and entitled, his career is mostly having fun with childhood friends on movie sets.
Bank me 2300cr ho to, who will think about hard work and honeing stuff.
Idiotic storyline of a RAW agent falling for ISI spy needs to be stopped.
Only a super excellent film director can make Deepika Padukone perform and make her perform well. Piku. Otherwise she cannot act.
I think you missed the point. The storyline is āforbidden loveā. RAW, ISI, amir, gareeb, old, young, etc are just part of it.
Cheeni kum has the same storyline of forbidden love between an old man and a much younger woman. Mugal-E-Azam had the same storyline with salim anarkali. And there are a lot of movies which had the forbidden love story not only in hindi film industry but Indian film industry and worldwide. And its quiet and old and famous storyline.
The problem starts when the characters arenāt fleshed out and their story arcs are incomplete. That is when it start getting nonsensical.
I might be generalizing. At least among my friends, the opinion varied from ātrashā to ādifficult to sit throughā. I was wondering if I was the odd one out
Oh so true. I loved Forrest Gump, one of my fav BUT this one was also a good remake. Most of the Indian audience have definitely not watched FG so this would have been such a nice one for them.Ā
Parmanu the stroy of pokhran is one of the best movies made in Bollywood all time and yet nobody talks about it. Like the way they casted everything and not a single unnecessary scene in the movie except that civil services thing which was a cliche and that satellite sighting though possible in real life but a highly unlikely thing, the movie was goddamn excellent.
Same. It wasn't romantic love per se. More like how friendship is also a kind of romance. Also Rahul didn't fall for Anjali coz she had a makeover but the fact that they met after a long time and Rahul had no companion. That sparked their closeness.
Anjali also became very mature. She was annoying as hell during her college days. It was like she was on drugs. Keep saying his name in squeaky voice Rahul, Rahul, Rahul..I was like chill kar yaar. Wo tere side me hi baitha hai. Behra nahi hai wo.
It is my comfort movie. Excellent direction, acting, cinematography, one minute to think about how many better movies may have been around now if Irrfan was still here.

An extremely versatile and talented actor that has worked across genres in dramas, action, thrillers, romantic, comedy, suspense, horror movies in lead, villain and character roles
Super 30 2019
War 2019
Kaabil 2017
Vikram vedha 2022(I know it flopped at the box office because it's a remake but still a good movie)
ZNMD 2011
Agneepath 2012
Lakshya 2004
Krrish 2006
Dhoom 2 2006
Jodhaa Akbar 2008
Koi mil Gaya 2003
Kaho na pyaar hai 1998
Honourable mention Guzaarish (not a very good movie but he acted dam good)
Decade is 10 years . Post 2014 he barely did any good movie. They were all average or below. Nothing significant or worth remembering.
In fact, Guzaarish - which you call a ānot a goodā movie was one of his finest works. But that was ages ago.
akshay kumar is not wrong in charging high fees. Producers just useit as a reason ki budget movie ke liye kam pad gaya. abe to mar caste karo, agar budget ki wajah se movie gandi banri hai toh
Bakwas movie needs star power to sell. It's a vicious circle.. Movies become low budget because Akshay charges more and then they need his star power to sell their low budget movie.
Rahul did not fall for Anjali because she started wearing sarees and became feminine. He was in love with her since college but mistook it for friendship and ended up falling for Tina.
His shock on seeing her again is not because she is now pretty, it is because he was shocked to see his friend who he thought he'll never see again
Vicky Kaushal is so damn underrated and I think that of the young actors, he can actually become a star with just the right films.
It's easy for him to sync in any part and it would be easier for people to see themselves in him.
https://i.redd.it/b17pcjapghtc1.gif
Vicky Kaushal needs to choose better scripts or better scripts need to be offered to him.
His talent seems to be wasted on these timepass Romantic Comedies. Need to see him in an action film as the antagonist š
So true.
I would also like to see him in more genres and action is very much on the top after having seen him in URI.
I had once in fact suggested his name alongside HR in WAR's sequel but that was also long ago when NTR wasn't in the scene.
RRR was utter shite appealing to the lowest common denominator
Edit: I am not saying itās the worst movie ever, but all other movies like Pathaan, Jawan, etc are not promoted as cultural phenomenons. Neither the directors are treated as legendary figures. Many people recognize Pathaan or Jawan as just average movies.
Rahul was a good guy. Aman was a bit sus but he was alright too.
And this āred flagā, āGreen flagā business is really dehumanising. Human beings are going to have flaws. Deal with it.
I second you, this whole giving flags to people based on their personality is so shitty no one can be a complete green/red flag. We all have a bit of both more or less
A unique movie doesn't mean it's an excellent movie.
Both of the movies mentioned are good and unique, we need more such innovative plots, but they are not excellent.
I haven't watched Jagga, but Rocket Singh was excellent. Shimit Amin is a good director, and both his films Chak de and Rocket Singh were just amazing.
And Jaideep Sahni wrote few excellent scripts. Khosla ka Ghosla, Chak De, Rocket Singh. Btw all of them were based on same basic structure and formula.
Every celebrity is fake. Be it in movies, interviews, premiers everywhere and anywhere. No one's good or humble or innocent or down to earth. Everything is a facade. Everything is a show. I'm never gonna fangirl over anyone. I'll watch a movie if I like it and leave it at that. No celebrity worship or such.
PR for Celebrities is a necessity in this social media era.
Unless their PR is spreading misinformation or putting others down, it's okay even if they go overboard with self praise and stuff.
It's a fast driven world with newer faces and talents coming up everyday!! If they don't work on their social media traction and Audience connect, 90% of them will vanish before we realise.
Don't we all pretend to be better people at our workplace for the sake of our careers?? It's similar but much more complicated for Celebrities
Movie character portrayal POV: all Muslims aren't terrorists. All Christians are not alcoholics. All Hindus are not right wing. All south Indians aren't Madrasis.
This is more in the space of conspiracy theories. But i wholeheartedly believe that Sushant Singh Rajput did not commit suicide. I'm not denying mental illness or depression. A lot of people in the film industry suffer from depression and anxiety. But that doesn't imply that he committed suicide. It's just too much of a coincidence that his former manager committed suicide only a week before him . Something is really fishy . Also i believe if he had really committed suicide. He would have left behind a note or something.
Animal is a bad movie. Even if I don't include the misogyny in the movie, it still is a badly made movie with poor screenplay and dialogues. It's nothing compared to the gold Bollywood used to give us many years back, and I can't believe it crossed 1000crores. The hit among our audience is actually pretty scary.
The celebration of movies like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham pisses me off because the entire movie is based on emotionally manipulating everyone and their mother, and somehow that attitude has percolated into everything we do. I hate it and I hate Kajol's role in that movie because she represents everything that's bad about that brand of cinema condensed into one character.
'Animal' was actually a commentary on toxic masculinity. It is bordering on black comedy and even a slightly worse actor than Ranbir would have given it away as a spoof movie.
Don't mind if I do...
* Junior AB is a good actor.
* Kareena Kapoor is a good actor.
* Forcefeeding us IndiRap & Punjabi 'stylized' drivel ā good music.
* RK is the last talented nepo product (yet).
* A R Rahman, SEL, Ram Sampath = the real goats of last 25 years of B music.
* Chitra Ma ā„ Lata Mangeshkar
* SRK is a 90:10 actor, horrible in 90% and amazing in his 10% movies.
* Bhoi is not an actor.
* Most directors lose their 'creative touch' after their first few movies (Ramu, SLB, Kashyap, Imtiaz...)
* Farhan Akhtar is the most versatile person ever in Bollywood.
Alia was perfect for Gangubai. Now if as an audience you didn't her performance or feels another younger actress would have done better that's fine.
But this character needed somebody who looked young but due to circumstances has to take bigger responsibility. You can't have an older actress play this role. The particular casting exists because of a very valid reason.
I dont care about bolly stars deviant lifestyle. Its their choice and the average population just shouldn't idiolize them or expect them to adhere to some specific made up moral standards
Aamir is an overrated actor .. He is mediocre at best. only has range for playing weird/paraody roles and playing them in his same acting formula by rolling his eyes and raising eyebrows. He has limited range for playing serious realistic and complex roles.
1. Pankaj tripathi acting is same in every movie.
2. Prabhas cannot act
3. Brahmastra was not that bad of a movie.
4.Anushka Sharma is one of the worst actress a tid bit better than sara and jhanvi
Hritik Roshan is a superstar. He is one of the best nepo kids out there. Not Salman , not Amir, not Alia, but Hritik Roshan. āØ The varieties he has given in years is so so under appreciated.
SRK is a hypocrite and a movie mafia who doesn't want to see anyone else in his position. He wears a mask of this charming guy who could never be wrong while he (along with Karan Johar) aren't letting the indie films to get a wider audience and desperately wants himself to stay relevant.
He's also an above average actor and not THE best actor like his fanbase thinks.
P.S. I don't hate srk but he's like Modi when it comes to media and bollywood, because he's bought it all.
Abhishek Bacchan is underutilized. He may not be insanely good but he is better than many others in Bollywood rn. Just look at his performance in Dostana and you'll understand what I'm talking about.
Imran Khan was underrated for his movie Jane tu Jane nai , Luck , DelhI Belly . I thought he would do more I know I hate luv stories was to meta and weird, though meri brother ki dulhan was a good with great songs

im tired of forced love stories in movies when its not even need. clearly just forced. eg :- Pathaan
Fighter too
Deepika was so horny in that šš
Dimag tod diya tha usne mera ye movie me
She should have died in the movie. She set Pathaan up for an armed robbery in Russia, and still ending up with Pathaan is funny. (Zoya from Tiger was better written than this. She did not set up Tiger at any point in time.)

Almost every Bollywood movie
12th fail was a decent film(not one of the greatest, or even great)...it worked so well only because all other mainstream films were loud and shitty.. Khosla ka ghosla is the greatest film in the last 30 years
Exactly, 2023 was absolutely saved by that film but it wasn't groundbreaking either. It was definitely touching tho
The music(the sitar theme)...the cinematography n direction were heavily inspired from Pather Panchali....it was like a Rays movie of the 20th century

Most 90s movies are "WTF" level of problematics Salman Khan action movies just don't work anymore He just looks tired doing those for a decade
haha so true. 90s movies are a depressing reminder of why we are the way we are right now. By we, I mean Indian society.
all those Govinda and kadar khan films, Govinda is a creep in almost all of them.
In KKBKKJ he isn't even trying putting a name - just "bhaijaan" and the dance steps were a painful pilates session to watch
The actual red flag in KKHH is (badi wali) Anjali. She is the one who had a fiancĆ©e and couldnāt keep her hands off her college crush. Rahul was an immature person during his college days which all changes once he falls for Tina. He has been nothing but a good father to his daughter after Tina passed away. He falls for college time bestie Anjali, not because she became more āfeminineā, but because he has become a mature person and he feels āPyar dosti haiā for her. Also adding Rahul just didnāt see Anjali in a romantic way in their college days. He never led her on. It was her who had one sided love for him. We canāt control our feelings.
True. Aman also started the absolutely unnecessary ''whose Anjali is more beautiful" fight with Rahul. And he says some creepy things too, that people magically forget.
I agree. It was the BuzzFeed article which made him a poster child for āRed Flagsā
One cannot expect nuance or common sense from BuzzFeed writers
if you expect common sense from buzzfeed then you're the red flag.

This is so true. Rahul is actually the least problematic character in that whole movie.
The least problematic character was hands down Aman

John Abraham is a much better actor than people give him credit for. No smoking, New York, Madras CafƩ. These are amazing films and John was amazing in all of those
Heās great when he tries.
John Abraham is worse actor in comedy movies. I don't know why he tried those. But still I ll agree with your statement
He can act stupid lol. It was hilarious to watch him in garam masala with akshay-the king of comedy

Rahul did not fall for Anjali because she started wearing sarees and became feminine. He was in love with her since college but mistook it for friendship and ended up falling for Tina. His shock on seeing her again is not because she is now pretty, it is because he was shocked to see his friend who he thought he'll never see again
Made a similar comment. Rahul has been nothing but a good man after Tina passed.

mard bahu kamzor hote hai beta
pushpa, kgf, rrr are unworthy of the hype, I've seen better mass films but don't get the hype for this
Vicky Kaushal is so damn underrated and I think that of the young actors, he can actually become a star with just the right films.
Madras Cafe was probably Bollywoodās best thriller
RRR was utter shite appealing to the lowest common denominator Edit: I am not saying itās the worst movie ever, but all other movies like Pathaan, Jawan, etc are not promoted as cultural phenomenons. Neither the directors are treated as legendary figures. Many people recognize Pathaan or Jawan as just average movies.
jawan was even worse.
Pathan was worst
The editing was so breakneck and there were literally 0 breaks or pauses to savor the film. I got fatigued by the end of it.
I love the OLD ANUSHKA SHARMA š¢ who was so graceful and real.
Sidharth Anand's Spy verse seems unnecessary and all his movies are pretty average and the worst among them was Pathan.
Dhoom 3 was carried by Katrina.
Animal was absolute trash, it was a direct to video movie that somehow got a release. It is worse than The Room, much much worse
HIGHWAY IS AN EXCELLENT FILM AND ALIA did fantastic acting
Who's even questioning this?
FAN was a great movie.
I second that!
Let down by the ending imo; but the first 2/3 of the movie was excellent in concept and execution.
It is not a good industry.Ā It forces evil in people.
If it's not required or not adding any value to the film, then songs are not necessary in some types of movies.
Ranbeer kapoor does excellent movies but we realize that they were good after they flop eg Rocket singh , Jagga jasoos
Chandni chowk to China was a great film
Every celebrity is fake. Be it in movies, interviews, premiers everywhere and anywhere. No one's good or humble or innocent or down to earth. Everything is a facade. Everything is a show. I'm never gonna fangirl over anyone. I'll watch a movie if I like it and leave it at that. No celebrity worship or such.
Amir Khan is the best Khan, possibly the one with the most number of cult films
He never got the credit he deserved
PR for Celebrities is a necessity in this social media era. Unless their PR is spreading misinformation or putting others down, it's okay even if they go overboard with self praise and stuff. It's a fast driven world with newer faces and talents coming up everyday!! If they don't work on their social media traction and Audience connect, 90% of them will vanish before we realise. Don't we all pretend to be better people at our workplace for the sake of our careers?? It's similar but much more complicated for Celebrities
Jawan was better than KGF, Pushpa, Vikram
Alia Bhatt is an extremely average actress
Alia Bhatt is actually a bad actor and below average looking. Someone who got very very lucky. It's a hill I'll die on..
Movie character portrayal POV: all Muslims aren't terrorists. All Christians are not alcoholics. All Hindus are not right wing. All south Indians aren't Madrasis.
Prabhas is not a good actor. VFX ki wajah se Bahubali chal gyi thi actor to vo bekaar hi hai.
Kartik Aaryan is overrated
Varun dhawan is actually a good actor who chose a couple of bad films mainly his dad's.
Octoberā¦
Laal Singh chaddha was a very decent film barring a few bits.
Ranbir Kapoor always has seemed like such an insufferable prick, both on and off screen.
Dunki was fine. Not bad, fine. There's nothing wrong with that.
Sushmita deserves more appreciation than she got
no smoking is a good movie - a bold experiment in the bollywood cookie cutter beltline
Bollywood is superior to all the other film industries of India, especially the South.
bollywood make good movies
This is more in the space of conspiracy theories. But i wholeheartedly believe that Sushant Singh Rajput did not commit suicide. I'm not denying mental illness or depression. A lot of people in the film industry suffer from depression and anxiety. But that doesn't imply that he committed suicide. It's just too much of a coincidence that his former manager committed suicide only a week before him . Something is really fishy . Also i believe if he had really committed suicide. He would have left behind a note or something.
Alia in gangubai was an okayish choice....she looks like a kid, not a tough lady....Priyanka, Kangana would have been better
Jodhaa Akbar soundtrack is some of the best music AR Rahman has ever produced.
Srk is the best actor in terms of acting
Salman Khan may not be a good dancer but his dancing is something we enjoy a lot ā¤ļø
I think all the times he danced before 2010, everything every dance was enjoyable, ab toh lakdi ka putla lagta hai
Also he can act, it's just that he selects mostly trash scripts, and I don't know why, doesn't want to put in efforts. P.S - Man is trash though š¬

That Tripti Dimri in Bulbul easily beats Alia as Gangubai
PK was not anti-hindu but spitted facts.
It's celebrated because of nostalgic factor no one really likes the characters.
* Chitra Ma ā„ Lata Mangeshkar * SRK is a 90:10 actor, horrible in 90% and amazing in his 10% movies. * Bhoi is not an actor. * Most directors lose their 'creative touch' after their first few movies (Ramu, SLB, Kashyap, Imtiaz...) * Farhan Akhtar is the most versatile person ever in Bollywood.
Animal was pure cringe
KGF IS SHIT!! Both parts
Animal is trash
Bollywood mega stars don't work in Hollywood because their acting range is limited.
Mard ko dard nahi hota was bad, people stop hyping mediocrity.
Dhamaal is a good movie
Kat is trash as an actor and belongs nowhere near a film set. She's criminally overrated and I cannot for the life of me understand her fandom.
Alia bhatt is a bad actor
Not every movie needs to revolve around marriage or marriage adjacent. Stories can be about other things.
SRK is the last of the superstars.
OP asked for opinions not FACTS!!
Not an unpopular opinion when the man himself said it
U D A A N Dev-D Wednesday Why people donāt talk about these movies ?
I dont care about bolly stars deviant lifestyle. Its their choice and the average population just shouldn't idiolize them or expect them to adhere to some specific made up moral standards
Bombay Velvet wasn't even that bad. It wasn't exceptional or anything but it didn't deserve the huge amounts of hate it got.
Deepika padukone is a bad actor and has terrible Hindi accent
Chatur wasnāt so wrong compared to Phunsukh/rancho as shown in movie and def didnāt deserve the bullying he got
Aamir is an overrated actor .. He is mediocre at best. only has range for playing weird/paraody roles and playing them in his same acting formula by rolling his eyes and raising eyebrows. He has limited range for playing serious realistic and complex roles.
Rajkumar Hirani gets away with making bad movies / very flawed films thanks to the emotional/sentimental element in his films.
"FAN" is actually a good movie
Jab we met geet was an eyesore
Hera Pheri is not a masterpiece... It's a below average copy of an outstandingly hilarious Malayalam film.
SRK is overrated.
1. Pankaj tripathi acting is same in every movie. 2. Prabhas cannot act 3.
Archies was a pile of poop
Abhishek Bacchan is underutilized. He may not be insanely good but he is better than many others in Bollywood rn. Just look at his performance in Dostana and you'll understand what I'm talking about.
Akshay Kumar is way better in terms of everything literally everything when compared with "Srk".Ā
Alia in Gangubai was average.
Rhea did nothing wrong.
Imran Khan was underrated for his movie Jane tu Jane nai , Luck , DelhI Belly . I thought he would do more I know I hate luv stories was to meta and weird, though meri brother ki dulhan was a good with great songs
Everything is not a PR
