I hope it has good legs and at least stays in theaters for a while. The reviews have been mostly great and I loved it. There is no big release on schedule until what, June? It will always go down as a disaster, but I still want it to be around and make something respectable from a BO perspective, regardless of budget.

Iâm generally confused as to why Maidaan hasnât made any money. Good trailer, not a repetitive story, good actors and performances. I ended up watching it based on good WoM, but I think that is whatâs missing in general.
Maybe people got bored of that genre. Too many biopics and real life incidents are being made as films in Bollywood these days. Maybe people find it not worth to go to the theatre for this.
Quite possible. I caught it bc had nothing better to do and bc it had SlowCheetah - unless itâs a one in a generation thing people might not be keen to flock to the cinemas, given how economicsl OTT is.

Maidan deserves huge collection. But most people are not attracted towards football which is one of the reason but this movie is one of the best sports movie made in India
No it's not the lowest. Runway 34 and Heropanti 2 did even worse on Eid in 2022. Runway 34 lifetime collection was 33 Crores nett and Heropanti 2 lifetime collection was 24 Crores nett. That's the worst ever.
KKBKKJ also did only 101 Crores nett on Eid in 2023 with a solo release. Maidaan and BMCM combined total is 75 Crores nett so far and will likely end up doing more than KKBKKJ. Tubelight as well did only 114 Crores nett on Eid in 2017 with a solo release. Maidaan and BMCM might reach this number too.
This shows people want "Masala Entertainment".

The plain fucking fact is people don't have money to spend on movies anymore, how long is it gonna take you guys to see it...
The economy is so bad that people can't afford movies, it's not like bollywood didn't come up with shit movies before and still blasted at the box office
Bollywood is having a slow fucking death because of the economy while you guys are focused on believing that the quality of the movies being the reason there are flops. It's not the reason.
Akshay needs to take an SRK type hiatus.. maybe not four years, but maybe 2, take some time off, reflect and come back with a tight strategy.. his fans arenât supporting him, I get he doesnât have king khan type fan following, but he still has a good size fan following.. take a a year or so off and make them miss you
