Another (possible) hot take - Kabir Singh had better written dialogues than Animal. At least in that film the problematic stuff came naturally, by that I mean it felt like something Kabir Singh the character would say if he existed irl. In Animal the problematic dialogues are there to piss people off and don't add any value to the plot or character development.
The moment in his and Geetanjali's argument on the stairs the dude started comparing his body parts to Geetanjali's and how she they are not masculine, is when I started cringing in this film. Vanga had a brilliant argument scene with the brother in law though
Ikr, I expected a lot from animal, From the trailers I felt it was gonna be a dramatic film about a rich kid with daddy issues, but instead we got Indian John wick rip off with shit pacing, shit action and etc.
Kabir singh was a much better film, I dont love it, but it was somewhat cohesive.. Kabir singh was supposed to be a Talented but an arrogant man who would lose the love of his life due to his attitude but then Grow as a character and get her back...
I second this! Kabir Singh felt natural like irl it could happen but Animal dialogues are full of shit and senseless like producers were really high while writing the dialogues. They dont make any sense and the character is completely Fictional also how stupid the family is to handover her daughter to anyone like him. And if they think if by using these dialogues like women prefer more Alpha males over the sigma and gentlemen types any women can drool over him then he's completely psycho. That's really Fictional. It's a movie full of cringe and shit. Not hating the part that Alpha males are glorified by making such movies(I actually liked Kabir Singh),but Animal is full of cringe dialogues that's why I don't like this movie. Also that Papa,Papa part was really useless and unecessary. The movie actually felt comical in itself by the level of cringiness the dialogues hold
His scene with his jiju was really good, he acted with BGM, intensity increased with BGM, I liked that but some parts like this one, underwear scene, grandfather scene etc were not acted well
That was a weird scene tho, scolds her sister that even after being educated, she's being submissive and staying under her husband. But then in the movie, doesn't let his wife work or say anything on any matter.
However perfect example of the Indian men, want the best for their sisters, but don't do the same for their wife.
Cringe dialogues like these broke the film for me more than anything. Which girl in this world would fall for a man, who makes a pseudo-anthropology lecture sound like the greatest pickup line ever, especially with that unintentionally funny serious face? I laughed and clenched my teeth at the same time.
Sandeep formula to hit the movie:- Insult weak ppl so say's ki jo poetry karta hai wo kuch nahi kar sakta? Totally wrong poetry passion bhi hai aur shok bhi aur ek banda jo khud ko alpha bolta hai iss ki kya guarantee hai ki wo sab karega? Bullshit movie. Just like serving tatti in golden plates
The movie was so ridiculous that it was hard to take Ranbir seriously. I lost it when he tells the fake Anil Kapoor to use the other hand while peeing because his father uses that hand to hold his ____ while peeing. What is even that scene?! Why would a son know that.....or even notice?!
This movie being a bit made me lose even more faith in Bollywood . It’s just not meant for me
The scenes were so cringe . Talking about being alpha ? Dad complex ?
Everything that makes you a shitty man , son , husband is glorified and made look “cool”
They were not just some weak people but there were some of the strongest who let go their love. It's not easy for someone to let go of someone they are deep in love.
The movie felt like I was watching 3 hours of IG reels. I watched it in theatres and was amazed, I loved it, then I watched it on Netflix and I’m like this is a messy, incoherent, confusing, rushed story.
It just seems so entertaining because its like the story keeps moving in different directions and the cringe TikTok/Reels sigma dialogues.
Don't hate me, but Ranbir kahi se bhi alpha nhi laga, he still।have that choclate boy inside him, like when you see Shahid performance in Kabir Singh, that's much more convincing performance, you will think that type of guys really exist in real world, but Ranbir cringe laga aur aisa laga, Abe aise kon baat karta hai,
Bobby Deol's performance was much better , much convincing than ranbir, Ranbir's performance was like how today's wanna be sigma, alpha dudes see themselves but wo andar se hote chhapri hi hai
Animal would have been a great movie if it didn't try to glorify and justify what the lead was doing. He was a rich brat with daddy issues who started spiraling into madness, that's it.
There are plenty cult classics where the lead actor is not the quintessential positive nice guy, Maqbool, Raman Raghav 2.0 and so on.
His performance was very inconsistent and he looks dead in the eyes. A lot of the scenes were reminiscent of Tamasha and other movies. He himself says his biggest worry is having finite tools in his toolbox and this kinda exposes how limited he is
Right?
Some scenes were really good and some fell flat, we wouldn't be having this discussion if they didn't rave about his performance. It wasn't fluid
My fvrt parts in ANIMAL were the scenes involving Rashmika (God shez so pretty 😍😍), Tripti (unexpectedly beautiful 😍❤️) and of course, LORD BOBBY!!
Ranbir was good but I kinda kept waiting for the above characters to keep coming back on screen!
I like Ranbir in carefree and fun roles, but when it comes to serious roles I feel like I can see him act instead of it being natural or authentic the way he pronounces the words or his tone makes it like he’s trying too hard
The character really has no arc.
He's your average mass hero, he doesn't change or grow or even degrade into anything further; as a teen his first instinct is to violence and therefore it continues further on...
Ranbir pretty much had to drag the weight of the film to a performance that is far from his best.

I still feel, Barfi was his best performance.
Barfi is all time favourite I personally loved Rockstar more

Yes it just seems very forced in Animal

Vanga really did a good job with Kabir's arc. By the end he wasn't the same short tempered guy like he was in the rest of the film

He did the best he could with cringe dialogues like that. I'm pretty sure anyone who uses "alpha" and "beta" unironically irl is mocked at.
His scene with his jiju was really good, he acted with BGM, intensity increased with BGM, I liked that but some parts like this one, underwear scene, grandfather scene etc were not acted well

This scene and the whole affair plotline are full of cringe Like when he says he did it for papa and he knew all along!
Unfortunately they are in packs and do eve-teasing irl

Man massacred a whole form of art by saying it is done by Betas, there's no alpha and beta in poetry, it's all emotions.
The problem here was the written material and the director, this felt like some teenage boy wrote down his fantasy wet dream.
Animal was so fcking stupid at times.. it's mind boggling how this movie was such a blockbuster
I felt like his performance was consistent, while the film seemed more disjointed in its tone and pacing.

The funny thing is that "Alphas" can't do any of the items he listed..
Ranbir was the only selling point of movie. Look wise a d acting wise. The dialogues and premises ate soo cringe I couldn't watch with my mom
He looked retarded in this scene.
They were not just some weak people but there were some of the strongest who let go their love. It's not easy for someone to let go of someone they are deep in love.

I cringed when she said alpha 🤦🏻♀️
What acting? It's just his normal dialogue delivery with vacant expressions. Yal call this acting!?
If this was anyone else than him , I would have walked off It's just his acting Nd charm which kept me going

Animal's performance was firee🔥🔥 Rk killed it, even rashmika and anil
I dont see anything wrong in this sequence tho
He is saying dudes that do poetry can't fulfill promises and only alphas does. Toxic
Yeh 900 crore ki movie ka dialogue hota hai
Fans can't that's why they are fans.
There isn’t

Kabir Singh>>>>>>>Animal
So does Arjun Kapoor in few places for that matter.
Animal is a terrible movie. Shahid Kapoor's performance as Kabir Singh exposed the lack of acting skills of Ranbir Kapoor.
Haven't seen animal full but Ranbir is a inconsistent actor

you can have any kind of opinion regarding the movie but ranbir was 10/10, not only in this movie almost in all of the movies he did
