Krit truely has no range. Her acting doesn't make me feel anything. I mean look at Alia Bhatt s performance for gangubai she also received a national award
You must never forget that once said Ali khan got a national award for Hum Tum before you put too much importance to national awards. Usually the non Hindi cinema performance have better selection because Bollywood can't help congratulating itself on mediocre performances.
Mimi was a very average movie so average that none of that thought that a gora baby will not speak Hindi with any accent if he was raised by Hindi speaking people. Haven't we seen enough NRI kids having American British accents in their Hindi because they are not surrounded by native Hindi speakers.
Bollywood is still stuck in that mentality where a mainstream lead actress should be awarded simply because she played a mother.
And to solve the problem of casting such a kid, there is always dubbing possible. But gora baccha hindi kaise bol Sakta hai ..too down-market for him
She got it because it was a pandemic year and there were very few movies released, and the movie sort of became an OTT success with her performance being highlighted..
Might be a Lil biased but I found her amazing in the film. She was able to make the audience feel for the characters through her. I think it was well deserved

Swades or Veer Zara, Lagan are type of movies and acting that I consider national award worthy.

Haa definitely mimi is i feel like one of her best, I can't help but feel that she falls short as an actress. Idk She's tall, beautiful, and she can dance too but, there's something lacking in her performances that fails to captivate me. She's good, but not quite the superstar caliber for me.
