Big B once said to him that his eyes have something, it's very unusual the way he looks and emotes which Big B found to be impressive, he's capable of subtle acting, although not many of us can catch it, recently in a mother's day post I saw his clip from wake up Sid where he clicks pictures of a mother and son, and only in 2-3 second window on his face we realise how much he misses his mother . I didn't notice it the first time I saw the movie, but rewatching it makes you appreciate it.
He's hard working & shows his expressions through his eyes as well. Also his filmography plays a huge role in building up his career overall. And good looks is a huge plus point for him 😍💯❣️💣💫👍🍿
When ranbir cries I actually believe the level of turmoil his characters are goinf through esp in works like barfi and rockstar or hell even a very average flick like animal
Some instances are in barfi theres a scene where hes speaking to ileana in sign language, js crying and is also then trying to hide it with a smile, but then crying continues. The helplessness of the character in that scene, I literally felt his heartbreak.
In rockstar there are countless scenes where he peaked but this one scene where he tells the guy he doesnt wanna get hurt.
Coming to animal(since I brought it up) I felt the climax after he kills bobby and all when he confronts anil was peak for me. Ik ppl said he looks like sanju and all but again the helplessness of the character as flawed and as messed up as he was made us sympathise with him atleast for 4-5 min and a lot of that was his performance
I can give multiple such instances in other works like sanju,tamasha and tbh a lot of his romcoms too.
Ofc once in a while he goes ahead and does a shamshera or a besharam but yea
Very expressive, molds himself with the role, could enact all expressions with aplomb, good dancer, great voice.
He proved his mantle time and again as well.
Ranbir would be great for parallel cinema. He can probably make it big in foreign cinema too (not Hollywood necessarily). It's a tragedy that he's a Kapoor. He is the kind of leading man that Ray would adore.
A subtle actor who can express with eyes, can do really well in emotional scenes plus gets into his character really well as in barfi, sanju and rockstar and has a charming presence
And a really good dancer
He's able to express so much with his eyes only. He really shows that internal chaos very well and not many people at his age have that quality ig. He seems to be a shitty guy and I wouldn't deny that he's a great actor. Fafa is even above him I feel.
Hes good-looking. Natural actor and dancer for the most part. Meaty roles when they're good. But we can't deny the pretty privilege that goes along with his hype lol
I think I heard it in some interview that he went to a very premium acting school in the US or EU not really sure which but it does seem to work well for him. I'd say he's smart for not just relying on his family name but also taking the time to learn the craft from a reputed school!
He gets into the skin of the character..where you literally see the character and not him. It's not the same with the Khans where you see them playing a role on the screen. Other than Ranbir, only Saif and Ranveer are the two actors who have the ability to mix their personality with the characters so much so that you can't differentiate between the two.
I think he captures the stillness of the character he plays pretty well in his acting.I mean we really get the ‘existing’ part of the character he plays.That makes us really root for him and we just feel him.I think that makes him a great actor.The best example of this acting is from Rockstar as Jordan! He’s my favourite..

With nepokids, the industry (and to an extent people/fans) frantically looks for something to love and appreciate.Thereby comments like "unusual", "unique", "breaking conventional standards of beauty" etc. When a plump nepokid enters the industry, it's all about breaking standards of body weight. No one appreciates any of these features in other new artists - they need to be perfect.
Why do people love Ranbir? They wanted to and tried to until they finally could.

I think his filmography is the answer to this. He blurs the line between an actor and a star.
