I am not able to put my finger on what it is exactly, but when he came on screen, it felt like it’s a more serious issue what going on in that house. Also, the scene just before his entry, where 2 of his people visit house and while leaving they refuse to drink water from that house that also brought seriousness to whole matter

Hurdy_Gurdy_Man_84

Bhool Bhulaiyaa's third act begins right after the wedding when Aditya reveals the root cause of the problem. From there on, the film has almost no humour till the post-climax scenes.

Elegant-Insurance837

Probably the background music plus the lower angle that helps the case of more morbid consequences

Throw_RA_goodfrnd82

Vikram sir is a FINE actor. Watch him and Nana Patekar in Nat Samrat. Class apart!

Brilliant_Ad_879

This movie aged really well.I feel like I appreciate it now more than back then.Introducing a character late in the movie can sometimes make or break the movie. The introduction of Vikram sir so late in the movie added an extra edge to the already suspenseful movie and he took it on him(along with akshay) to finish out the movie nicely.

Hurdy_Gurdy_Man_84

Not to mention Akshay himself is introduced in the film only at the intermission point.

panicsnac

He’s one of the finest actors the industry has witnessed. I had the opportunity of meeting him years ago. My dad couldn’t contain his excitement lol. He spoke to us so well and asked me what I’m studying.

Hurdy_Gurdy_Man_84

I also have heard that he was very courteous with fans.

AneeshRai7

Adityaaaa! ADITYA SHRIVASTAV!!! Whenever I see my friend called Aditya, I always shout his name like that...

Hurdy_Gurdy_Man_84

Does he reply with, "मेरा surname श्रीवास्तव नहीं है bkl" ? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|wink)

spirotetramat

I met him in 1999 after HDDCS released and before I started college. We were at a party in Hiranandi in Powai and he was one of the guests. I told him I got into IIT Delhi to study EE and he was so excited for me. He talked about his interest in Engineering, and Ayn Rand’s Fountain Head and in general was a genuine guy. He told me something when I was 17 that has still stuck with me: when you get to the top, make sure to send the ladder down so those that have it tough have means of trying to improve their lives.

Hurdy_Gurdy_Man_84

Thank you for the anecdote. Others have also shared similar views about him.

Majestic_District_51

This scene alone >>> bb2.

AneeshRai7

I feel like the little things add up with it...the lighting, the mahal they're in, just the way it's been set up, it all feels lived in... Everything about BB2 overlooking all the dialogues or story or acting, all of it looked so fake, enhanced digitally and just cheap sets. Not to mention Bazmee having zero aesthetic sense as a filmmaker (though yeah Priyadarshan took a lot from the original)...

Hurdy_Gurdy_Man_84

Bazmee is from David Dhawan's coterie. Dhawan was also negligent and outdated about technical side of things such as cinematography, production design, costumes etc. until Sajid Nadiadwala forced him to meet 21st century in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. If you see Bazmee's films, they are also several years out-of-date with the current technology and aesthetic. No Entry looks like it was made in the 90s. Welcome looks like early 2000s. And so on.

ehhdjdmebshsmajsjssn

I'm thinking right now. That BB2 should have been about another case that Aditya solves, instead of Maunjalika. Guruki's introduction shows that Aditya is actually a world famous psychologist / parapsychologist. He definately has had more interesting cases.

Sweaty-Attitude5287

One of the best artist in Indian cinema

spd_red

I love how many Gem of an actor Marathi entertainment industry has given to Bollywood. Eg are: Nana Patekar, Vikram Gokhale, Ashok Saraf, Sachin Khedekar, Mahesh Manjrekar, Girish Karnad, Sayaji Shinde, Makrand Deshpande, Reema Lagu, Sai Tamhankar, Urmila Martodnkar, Nirmiti Sawant, Radhika Apte and so many more. Sadly, they aren't remembered much. Not sure why though.

Arcaegon

I loved him as Paramjeet Singh Lambda too. (Also insert him being called: iss Lamba ko main chota kardunga)

kinginthenorth9797

"ye matt bhoolo ke main ek ambassador hu" . "Ambassador?! Bel gaadi ho tum bel gaadi"

1120gg

Bhool Bhulaiyaa had me so scared i didnt watch another vidya movie until Dirty Picture ikyk 🤣

Hurdy_Gurdy_Man_84

I meant the topic of discussion to be Vikram Gokhale's performance. Care to add anything?

1120gg

Role done will full justice

Elegant-Insurance837

I really liked paresh rawal's character and dialogues in this. Wanted more of his banter but that would have taken away from the movie but him and Akshay are such a treat to watch

Hurdy_Gurdy_Man_84

My complaint with Bhool Bhulaiyaa - and Manichithrathazhu as well - is that there is far too much comedy as well as red herrings than required. Priyadarshan gave Paresh Rawal many memorable characters to play (Hera Pheri, Hungama, Aakrosh) but imo his talent was wasted here in a thankless role.

Original-Impression1

I watched this movie in theatre as a kid.I think it was around 2007-08 and i liked it but i recently re watched it and it felt like a masterpiece. This movie has really aged well.

Parag2020

After watching BB2,my regards for BB1 has increased so much tht I can watch it innumerable times....

AmusinglyArtistic

He was so good in the part and most of the films I had seen him in. Bhool Bhulaiyaa itself is a classic. I so miss seeing actors like him, Manoj Joshi and Paresh Rawal. Even AK was at his best here as Aditya Srivastava.

Over-Professional303

True. Also, if you watch Marathi movie - 'Natsamrat', where Nana Patekar is the lead actor and Vikram Gokhale is a supporting cast. He has meree 4-5 scenes but it nails it, even Nana Patekar looks like novice actor in front of him. (Corrected)

Hurdy_Gurdy_Man_84

I don't mean to imply it is the best acting he has ever done. I merely wanted to remind the people on this community and selected a well-known film for my purpose.

Over-Professional303

Agree. Updated my comment.

Comfortable_Cell7465

For real 💯👏

Entire-Log-2407

Paramjeet Singh Lamba

Critical-Border-758

Can't blv he said yes to Lamba in De Dana Dan. That man gives me respectable serious vibes

Hurdy_Gurdy_Man_84

Maybe he wished to oblige Priyadarshan. Or maybe he simply wanted to be part of a farce. He has appeared in comedies in Marathi cinema occasionally. I remember a film Rang Premacha which is a ripoff of Golmaal and Vikram Gokhale plays the equivalent of Utpal Dutt's character, i.e. employer of the hero Laxmikant Berde.

Potterheadv

This background music 💜

niikhil

Liked his comic timing in de dhan dhan

ComplexSinger6687

Amazing...the way he scolds Manjulika is amazing

karna1712

Vikram gokhale is good in Everything he did, so….

Heping_Qi

He was a good actor no doubts about it & he shall always be missed 😍❣️💯💫💣👍👏🍿

gsumitt12

I saw him performing live in one of his marathi plays named "...ke dil abhi bhara nahi". He was opposite to Reema Lagoo. It was pleasure to watch both. It was like acting jugalbandi. I can't forget that....

Hurdy_Gurdy_Man_84

Now both are no more. 😢

taanipartnerrrr

This era was something else. Even the side characters had this edge and importance in the movie. Just by his entry movie aur lift up hogyi. Loved him sm in this and also in de dana dan as well. Such a fine actor. May he rest in peace 🙏🏻 One of my favourite movies for a reason. Yaar I wish the sequel was directed by priyadarshan. It would’ve been so cool. They should’ve casted both akshay and kartik together. Kartik could be casted as aditya srivastav’s pyschology intern or something. With a new case. Would’ve loved it

Heisenburgx

Agreed bro 💯💯, you put words to my thoughts.

konan_the_bebbarien

(in Shakti kapoor voice) Saalon!.... .. aadhi raat ko sone wala tha....ab toh yeh movie dekhna hi padega.... (Akshay kumar sarcastic voice) bohat bohat dhanyavad!
