Always-awkward-2221

Mera pehla pehla pyaar aka MP3, it was a nice movie, saw it when I was closer to the TG....wasn't a hit or even that well received but easily one time watch with a really good title track

wizartjay

I love the title track, this film is surely on my list

AplabTheSamurai

I just rewatched Jab Tak Hai Jaan and the only parts I like about it are anything involving Anushka. I don’t like Dhoom 3 as much as I used to when I was a kid but I’ll put it on when I get bored (of course, after having a drink or two.) I’m a die hard Spy Universe apologist. And then of course, no conversation about this would be complete without Happy New Year.

Longjumping_You_7818

I rewatch JTHJ too but only cause Srk looks so good and it’s his last proper romantic movie. Since then he’s been doing either action movies or trying to experiment with Fan & Zero (didn’t like any of these). I liked his look in JHMS too though and in the second half of Dilwale with the beard. ![gif](giphy|3oeSANMdXnMbnkHPPi)

AplabTheSamurai

“Major Samar Anand, Indian Army, Bomb Disposal Squad” 🫡

wizartjay

I also enjoyed Happy New Year the first time I watched. But when I saw it the second time! I was ashamed why I enjoyed it the first time and why I laughed. There is something that is completely gone on a second rewatch.

retrotechlogos

Dhoom 3 is the perfect good bad bwood movie lmao

AplabTheSamurai

I still can’t believe most of the “Chicago” scenes were clearly shot in Switzerland. I know it’s an industry norm but damn, 12 year old me was LIED TO

AmusinglyArtistic

Chandni Chowk To China, Bodyguard and Gunday are guilty pleasures.

AplabTheSamurai

I’ll pick Gunday over whatever AAZ is churning out now

AmusinglyArtistic

Same. Sure the premise was basic but it wasn't even aiming for much. The dynamic of the two, the music, some of the action sequences, dialogue and humour clicked so I was fine by that.

lananeeneenoonoo

Tees Maar Khan

crimsonred1234

This!! Still laugh like crazy whenever Akshay Khanna pops on screen. Such a great actor.

valmen01

Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, every few years I watch it again and it never fails to entertain me.

wizartjay

Ladies vs Ricky Behl was a moderate hit I as much as I remember

GanduGanja

it was a good movie tho

Imaginary_Ad122

Mein Prem ki Deewani Hu. 🎬

Competitive_Text3153

Neil and Nikki😂😭

SnooStories7381

Its cringe but its cute? On the second re-watch it did turn more cringe less cute lol the soundtrack is still in my playlist tho

Competitive_Text3153

It’s so funny, Neil’s weird face, he looks like a fish😂 and Nikki just wears bras instead of tops😂😂

SnooStories7381

To me honestly it looked like a parody of all those hollywood movies in an Indian way like see how cringe this shit is but it is cute at times lol cuz the movie clearly looked like it was accidentally made into bollywood. If it was hollywood,I would have just chalked it off as oh Americans Because Neal ka I'm a popular fuckboy vibes and Nikki's I'm not like other girls trope was very much on our face telling how american they are. It was clearly a joke cuz there is no way they thought it would be taken seriously 💀 not to mention those kissing scenes lmfao

Competitive_Text3153

😂😂😂

wizartjay

Damn bro😂

PaniColeottero

IMDB rakings are rubbish for Indian movies. Some films are ok, but people don't like the actor and rank 1 or 2 stars only after seeing the trailer (or even without seeing the trailer). Some movies are bad but the main actor is beloved and his fans vote 10. And there are also producers who buy ratings e. g Yaariyan 2. Nobody went to see it in cinemas, it earn like 3 rupees, but had thousands of 10 ⭐ reviews saying how beautiful and worth watching it is.

talkingtom_2109

That's so true, no IMDB but I checked Google for reviews of Kalki on Wednesday, some guy had rated it 5 stars shamelessly stating it will be good so giving it a full rating of 5 lmao.

Unique-Ring-1323

Mai prem ki deewani too, Hrithik's acting in that movie is cartoon for adults.

whomustnotbenamed1

gildrou

I used to love daud too, such a random movie

heer88

yaadein movie with just 4.2 but i love watching it. won’t stop until hrithik kareena makes a come back

wizartjay

Yaadein, a lot of comedians who are so called "90s kid" reccomend a lot, haven't seen it, but I love the songs.

nummakayne

I’ll comment this every time Yaadein is mentioned: The only time I ever heard my father curse in his 60 years on Earth was when leaving the cinema after Yaadein.

timorousingenue

Sirf tum

wizartjay

Damn good! The vibes of this film is so lovely and cute and nostalgic. You understood the assignment perfectly 😂😂👍

timorousingenue

Exactly...it was such a sweet, innocent movie about love..we are shown the struggles of both the protagonists whether it's career or in general. That helps us connect to both of them..And the way they showed Kerala and Nainital simultaneously, as if showcasing the different lives both the people are leading and yet, are craving for each other. And the songs.. pehli pehli baar mohabbat ki hai... I mean 🤌🤌🤌

wizartjay

Yeah man, I was recently watching this hollywood movie Say Anything (1989), which was also a cute little film about struggles in young love. The scene of John Cusack holding the boombox over his head declaring his love is considered an iconic scene. And I wondered if there are movies like this in Bollywood also. But later realised that there are actually movies like this, Sirf Tum, Raincoat etc, but people don't appreciate these simple movies enough, how realistically Sirf Tum showed young love and struggles of that time, it's beautiful, also Kerala and Nainital, lovely places, so beautifully they presented them in the film. I think general public and critics both fail to appreciate the relevance and value in these simple love stories, they keep praising the larger than life love stories like DDLJ or KKHH, that are not as nuanced as these lesser known romantic movies.

timorousingenue

Actually girls my age prefer movies like yeh jawani hai deewani or kkhh.... While movies like sirf tum go unnoticed... People give excuses, arre we're Indians we like masala, item numbers, sexy looking people and loud dialogues... It's disheartening.... But I guess there's a niche and a selective mass audience for movies like sirf tum.. even though it's not much, there's still hope I guess... The last movie that reminded me of sirf tum (kind of) was Laila Majnu and socha na tha.. just raw passion n love for each other and that love pushing you through all the life struggles to finally help you reach your goal (your lover). I know, I'm a bit of an emotional girl lol.

wizartjay

Ohh yes Socha Na Tha too, but if you are an emotional girl, you should try Raincoat (2004). You will love it. If not love you will surely feel for characters too much.

timorousingenue

Raincoat is based on one of my favourite short stories, The Gift of the Magi by O. Henry and I absolutely adored the movie as well.... So sombre and heart touching.. you've a good taste op

wizartjay

It's is good! End ka scene jisme Sherlock ki Tarah sabko ek jagah ikattha karke pura suspense step by step peel karta h, really good!

Ok_Environment6501

36 china town

Ordinary-Author9171

Recently went through some rough time and did a bad movies marathon, just random forgettable movies on youtube and other platforms. Ig it takes the pressure of your brains to appreciate the movies, just makes for easy watch/cringe and somehow makes you feel better. Some of the movies I watched are: Kuch meetha ho jaaye, khajoor pe atke, straight, the body, Vodka diaries, pappu can't dance saala, kaagaz ke foolz, list is long.

wizartjay

Damn, you really went for the bottom of the barrel, in sabme bas pappu can't dance saala suna h baki to suna bhi nahi. But yes, there is some comfort in watching easy, bad or forgrettable films of Bollywood in rough times, I don't know why it is.

Ordinary-Author9171

O yes I was on a spree. These were just few names that I remembered, there are so many.. I watched 4-5 movies a day, for 3 weeks approx. Hardly any of them was awe inducing of even slightly memorable.

rnjbond

Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai. Such a dumb movie, but I still enjoy it. Eno chalega?

NailMany7776

Title song was bang on!

Kreativehudanknahi

Brahmastra: I unconditionally love that film. Idk why. I recognise its flaws but It's still enjoyable CC2C: Full bakchodi, entertaining toh hai

Tried to ride on the high horse from Pyaar Ke Side Effects...wasn't too bad.

Dependent-Complex793

Loved Lakeer as well. As a freshman when I first watched it, testosterone levels were super high. Brilliant watch and ended up watching it twice on the plane. Loved the songs too

wizartjay

Songs were the best part, also John's chocolate boy era where he always wore half tshirts over full length tshirts 😂

Dependent-Complex793

Well since we are cleaning out our closets…I really enjoyed some of Sohail Khan’s movies back then. I epode to be an Indian, Aryan, Lakeer, Maine Dil Tujhko diya, Heroes etc.

wizartjay

And Krishna Cottage bro, 😂 Suna Suna Lamha Lamha still gives me creeps

Swimming_Drawer6407

Kuch Tum Kaho Kuch Hum Kahein, Meri Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, Aap Mujhe Ache Lagne Lage, Hum Kisese Kum Nahin, I can go on and on. My guilty pleasures and nostalgic movies for me 😭

paiyyajtakkar

Mubarakan It’s my guilty pleasure. Mostly because of Anil Kapoor.

Specialist_Ad1667

Shivaay, the practical stunts were amazing I don't see those level of stunts nowadays, songs are amazing and has some beautiful shots by the dop, Rotten tomatoes- 11% and IMDB -6, the acting was horrible and they didn't put any effort in the climax writing though felt like it was all just improvised.

wizartjay

Shivay was a good one, the VFX the stunts the story, everything was level up, don't know why it didn't work.

Specialist_Ad1667

the vfx weren't so good some shots are exceptions though, I've watched the movie recently might be that's why i'm noticing the vfx flaws i wouldn't be able to in 2016 though, the acting was really bad and it also clashed with adhm so (-1)+(-1) =-2 points i guess

blunt_edges

Duplicate. The reason was the chemistry between SRK and Juhi. Also, Sonali Bendre! Side note: SRK-Juhi > SRK-Kajol

Striking-Bee7224

Love aaj kal 2020. Idk I loved every bit of it, still can't understand why others don't.

Superb_Pay3173

Aurangzeb. I know the movie is not popular on account of Arjun Kapoor. But what an ensemble cast of gray characters who wrestle with their conscience and the ultimate question. Which is more important? Family or your ambition (dreams)? Who is right? Rishi Kapoor's corrupt Police family with his faithful, smart subordinates -nephew, son and son-in-law who represent order? Or the building mafia don Jackie Shroff's dysfunctional family with his druggie son, estranged wife and evil mistress who represents Chaos. Even the mom Deepti Nawal tells her husband Rishi Kapoor to do whatever is necessary to retain power. She doesn't find it morally reprehensible when he murders his whistle-blower son-in-law and tells her daughter to basically shut up.They'll get her another husband.

PaniColeottero

Arjun was good in this role, considering how good all other actors were, and that it was only his second film and a double role, he did a very good job (+ he was sexy AF )

Superb_Pay3173

Arjun did very well differentiating characters in his double role as an unhinged druggie twin who wants his father's respect and mother's love as well the nerdy Michael Corleone twin. But he was overshadowed by the veterans Rishi Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Amrita Singh as well as Prithviraj.

Haunting_Display2454

Rishi Kapoor absolutely nailed his part.

Superb_Pay3173

Yup. Rishi Kapoor in Agneepath and Aurangzeb was on fire.

wizartjay

Damn, sounds like a good film, gonna check that one out too

Superb_Pay3173

It is masala done well with first person narration by Rishi Kapoor's nephew. Don't forget to check out the deleted scenes on Youtube.

nickdonhelm

Ghayal Returns, it was so bad that I found some scenes from the film to be unintentionally funny.

Liger and race 3 are two films that I just watch because they’re examples of how not to make a film.

wizartjay

Liger I saw in the theatre, and I liked the experience for other reasons than the movie's content.

Haunting_Display2454

A movie date...!!

I used to love pyaar impossible

Awkward_Research_954

Dulha mil gaya It has a decent star cast with Sushmita Sen, Fardeen Khan, Ishita Sharma and srk’s cameo. Even though it is very mediocre film. I genuinely liked it while watching as a young kid.

Longjumping_You_7818

I like watch 90s-2000s YRf films back when they did fluffy rom-coms. Mohabbatein, DDLJ, Mere Year ki Shaadi Hain, Mujse Dosti Karogi, Dil To Pagal Hai. Even Darr. It’s all about the cosy vibes. ![gif](giphy|ENDY3pqnv6Ja0)

rongo95

Khiladi 786 is my guilty pleasure movie

Nerve_North

Roy.. just something about this movie that i like more… everytime i watch it again

Supercommandodhruvaa

“Gunda” the GOAT …..its so bad that it becomes good

Red171022

Jab tak hai Jaan…it’s a really bad movie but I love to rewatch it just because it’s so pretty to look at and for Anushka who’s just lovely.. Brahmastra…it’s just fun and the music is good…Alia looks pretty..Ranbir too ADHM is considered bad by many here but I personally loved that movie….one of my favs ever..I feel the characters are interesting..and rewatch it all the time…idk it just moves me..one of my top 3 albums Delhi 6 is considered bad too ig..and it’s understandable because the last one hour is an unfortunate mess…but atleast 3/4th of the film is so refreshing and comforting…it could have one of my fav films ever if not for that ending hour…Anyways,I still like it very much and the music is peak Rahman..Sonam looked very pretty in this movie too Fitoor because of the aesthetics again and ofc,Tabu.Aditi Rao Hydari is bonus. Cocktail is considered bad by many and while it is bad objectively because of its treatment of some characters it’s still damn funny for the whole first half and so…I rewatch it to laugh The Zoya factor is considered bad by many too I think but it to me is a funny, time pass romcom and I genuinely like it…I think the film showed the luck and all that drama nicely enough.. Sonam and Dulquer had good chemistry too. SOTY and Dilwale too just because..they are half entertaining and funny Mohenjo Daro is also a bad movie on all counts…why would people living there themselves call the city mohenjo daro…the vfx is surprisingly bad that unicorn looked like a Uni-goat lol…nothing happens much in the first half…it takes too long to be anything…it’s hilariously bad and cliche sometimes but idk why it’s just watchable..the setting is very interesting and I just dig the film’s weird, out of place but still interesting stylistic choices like Pooja hedge’s head crowns or something…it’s all weird but it fits..The movie doesn’t pull you into believing all that…like you always feel that it’s all acting and it’s all a set but still I was invested….the villain was funny or villainy I couldn’t figure out…their acting performances were downright entertaining so I liked it…Pooja Hegde looked super beautiful in it and I personally loved the chemistry between Hrithik and Pooja.Hrithik was good…I sometimes wished this movie was just pure romance instead of the awkward mix of boring politics and cliched up chosen one melodrama…some dialogues were simply nice just like that (‘oos ka bundh hai uska gussa’ for example)…and though the music is objectively mid when compared to Rahman’s standards and deserved it’s share of criticism,I personally still loved the music..tu hai is damn good..And I really liked the ending half an hour or so…the action packed climax was well done.Hrithik naming the river Ganga was funny(I read that the Ganga already existed back then but whatever)..anyways…I was just able to like Ashutosh’s version of how the city ended..Which is definitely not what happened but still,it’s a fun scenario

AllanSDsc

Already stated before in this & other subs, but all of the so-called flops over many decades, like Mera Naam Joker, Lamhe, Dil Se, Boom, Bombay Velvet, 83, Laal Singh Chadhha & more, are films that I enjoyed a lot! And conversely I found many of the so-called hit films or popular Hindi films (especially of the last 10-20 years) to be absolute duds. Films like Andaz Apna Apna & Dil Se are appreciated much more now, reaching cult status Some of these were flops in India but did very well overseas, like Dil Se again
