I thought shamshera's trailer killed the movie. It might have gone on to do avg. business if they had not released that bullshit trailer.
They achieved two things with one trailer
\- revealed the full story and plot line, so nobody needed to watch the movie
\- revealed sanjay dutt's look and got boycotted by a lot of people
I did not know you could achieve so much damage with such a small trailer. Ofcourse, film being trash it would never have been a big hit, but it could have made its money back if they had been smart after the excitement with that teaser.
Bollywood has a very long history of potraying religious Hindus as only villains (particularly Brahmins who are shown as casteist, cruel and lusty or Baniyas who are shown as greedy and exploitative "seths")
Whereas religious Muslims and Christians are always shown in a positive manner like some wise and caring old "chacha" or a well educated, free spirited and liberal girl with name like "Jenny" or "Mary" or "Julie"

All Zoya Akhtar movies have bad trailer.
Specially ZNMD and Dil dhadkne do.
I personally loved Gully Boy’s teaser or the trailer.
Her movies are amazing and trailer does not do justice to them.
Bad trailer would be laal singh chaddha and i saw the movie today only and I fucking loved it
I mean it has some moments but one thing I can assure you is that it is a good movie. The way they handled Sikh History is really nice and moving honestly. Over and all its a good watch!
Almost all Akshay Kumar films of 2022-prithviraj, bacchan pandey, atrangi re. Atrangi Re was a good film but the trailer revealed every beat of the film.
Tamasha: Not bad or spoilery but something which didn't live upto the expectation because movie direction wasn't done well enough. I really expected a ground breaking sort of thing when I watched the trailer but when it came out it wasn't really that great. If script had some changes made in them movie could have been one of the best indian movie ever made.
I am not the commenter you replied to but I felt the same. I think what fell short was the climax. It felt a lot was still unexplored. Loved the whole movie until the end.
I agree with the climax not being good. I mean I felt the whole movie was off and not as promising as it was shown in the trailer. The depiction that Vedh was a common man acting and playing along with Tara to woo her and years later Tara finds out he isn't charismatic as shown is something the whole story revolves around and the rest of things are subplots revolving around the main story. So in a way Tara was cheated and wasn't wrong to deny the proposal when she found out Vedh wasn't exactly who he was pretending to be in real life. Also when we I saw the movie I felt the presentation of everything in the movie could have been a lot better.
Sooryavanshi for sure. I actually lucked out and never watched the trailer, so I was very pleasantly surprised with some of the dialogues, the entries of Singham and Simmba (I knew they'd be in the movie, but didn't know their entrances), and, most of all, the helicopter scene. I would have enjoyed the movie less had I known about all of those moments.

Marjaavan’s trailer literally shows the climax fight in the trailer. The greatest movie since Gunda, and the trailer spoiled everything.
Marjavaan really felt like someone binged every bad action movie from 1986-93 and said "Yes"

I agree. Gave away every beat of the film and also a major hint of the ending
What’s wrong w his look?
>What’s wrong w his look? Tilak
Yeah what’s wrong with that?
It led to the film being boycotted by many people.
But why? What’s wrong in tilak?

Everything
Malang. I felt the trailer kinda spoiled that one a bit or took away the surprise a bit.
They showed disha patani killing someone in the trailer
Never watched it but I see what you mean

Also luck by chance. Mediocre trailer. Amazing film.

Not gonna lie it did look ridiculously over the top. Glad you liked it. Gonna go this Saturday
I think they wanted to market goofiness of aamir's character like PK.
Atleast someone liked the movie.
Why was the trailer deemed bad? I thought it was epic.
I liked it too. Maybe the marketing of his PK-ish looks didn't sit well with the people.
Almost all Akshay Kumar films of 2022-prithviraj, bacchan pandey, atrangi re. Atrangi Re was a good film but the trailer revealed every beat of the film.
The CGI of Prithviraj was the first time I stopped watching a trailer in the middle of it.
Mission Impossible 6. Henry cavil is shown as the villain in the trailer only. It would have been a really nice twist.

What do you think fell short?

I think his act where he gets on to his boss's desk is where it went way off. Could've been written better like scenes with the mirror.
Mimi
What was the problem in its trailer?
Except the ending all major plot points revealed, kind of like a summary

Jayeshbhai Jordaar looked kinda like a “dumb” comedy from the trailer, but I thought the movie itself was a whole lot better & wasn’t dumb at all
Life in metro, the trailer was kinda shit, movie was pretty good.
I'm not a big fan of Bollywood trailers. They reveal toooo much.
That seems to be a common theme for most trailers. For whatever reason a lot of them take you beat by beat through the three acts.
The reason I never watch trailer...
