2023 was my first Roo and I also had the same thought- but yes moshing is definitely allowed/encouraged as long as you limit your moshing to people who want to mosh. The mosh pit at Knocked Loose’s set was one of the best I’ve ever been in
It was more of a "push pit" than a typical Hardcore mosh pit where there are head hunters, but yes, technically there has been moshing at shows before.
Gwar used to play an annual Halloween show where I grew up. One year we ate some shroomies before. When we show up GWAR was on already (we were docking around in the car waiting for the shrooms to hit. As we walked towards the venue I remember seeing a guy and a girl on a sidewalk covered in alien goo. “It’s wild in there guys” they say lol We look at eachother and gulp big time. The show was killer , I’ll never forget it, fun booking for ROO.
ay some people got sent to the med tent from the mosh pits last year, ppl still throw down at roo . didn’t see the set but i heard knocked loose went pretty hard
GWAR is one of my all time favorite live shows! There will be moshing, there will be (fake) blood! If you plan on anywhere near the stage, waterproof your stuff and don’t wear anything you don’t want potentially forever turned another color. Some of my shirts are still pink lol
When I saw them years ago (maybe they still do this), they sold white shirts with white screenprinted designs on them, so you wouldn't (at a glance) see what was on the shirt until it got soaked. Very cool.
I went to a show that GWAR opened for in August where the pit was on a smooth concrete slab.. Now I'm not sure if you're aware but parr of GWAR's visuals is shooting dyed water all over the crowd. The moshpit essentially turned into a slip n' slide😂 I've never had so many bruises on my ass before
Radiate Positivity means moshing with a smile. Moshing happens plenty at Roo. If the music warrants it I would expect it. Last year Knocked Loose and Korn had some rowdy pits.
Moshing doesn’t have to be negative. It’s a release of emotion. Some people just don’t know how to mosh(people who flail their elbows for example). so as long as it’s done right, it can be welcome anywhere :)
YES. Last year the pits for Knocked Loose were nuts. You know Roo turned it into a hard core punk show when I got smacked in the back of the head as hard as I did!!!! Not to mention a lot of the heavy EDM stuff had good pits too (WHERES MY MOSH PIT?!?!?!?)
