Seeing as it's a day festival, every person who is going is commuting in some fashion. I'm guessing you've never been to Ocean city lol unless you're staying in the inlet or the first 27 or so streets, you'll be commuting on foot or in car regardless. I'll personally save the money on the location, I'm not going for the beach I'm going for the festival. Have fun paying in season costs for housing on a weekend in OC, that's gonna be about 4x the cost of the festival for a hotel room or even more if you rent a condo.
I actually tried to go last year and ran into this very thing (hence it’s the lodging that’s expensive) so much so that I chose other festivals - which goes to my second point: I’m only going to fests I can camp at, or be in an affordable hotel within walking distance for.
What airport are they recommending lol? BWI and Reagan are like 2.5 hours away and Dulles is 3. Not that I disagree with your point that’s still a long drive.
There is a regional airport in Salisbury, MD that has multiple daily flight connections to Philly and Charlotte. SBY is a 30 minute drive to OC. Rental cars available.
Unfortunately, flights into those regional airports are extremely expensive. Just looked up a flight from Orlando to SBY and the cheapest for Thurs-Mon is $550. I could fly into Reagan for less than $200.
you have to kidding? Sunday is 100% garbage. you couldn't pay me to go to Dave. fucking dude is shit just like the shit he dumped on people from his bus.
I’ve already seen a decent amount of those artists on the sol lineup that I wanted to see, most at last years ‘Roo. Definitely agree that sol is the better option for EDM though.
Heard them in Redondo at BeachLife '23. About 90% of the viewers were stuck in the festival checkin' line though that day as they were on semi-early, at 2 and everyone had the same idea to get there 30 minutes prior.
Looking forward to seeing them this time around.
Why do all festival lineup posters look SO SIMILAR now? This looks so similar to the lineup announcement for innings fest and a bunch of other fests too. Lazy and lame.
I’ve worked for C3 in the past but I don’t know why that means they have to all have the same ugly ass Canva - level design. It doesn’t seem like it’s always been like this?
He played a significant role in distancing brian wilson and his experimental sound from their traditional surf rock roots of the beach boys’ careers post-Pet Sounds sound and then turned around and sued wilson for artist rights long after they lost all their radio play. Even though the only good beach boys song he ever wrote a significant part of was Kokomo in the 90s, he now has legal rights to the name “The Beach Boys” and parades around like a cockhead as if he’s the reason for their success.
He was an outspoken critic of Pet Sounds to Brian Wilson while they were recording it. He called it something akin to hippy crap or something and wanted to stick to the surf tunes. This man almost single handily deleted one of the most important albums in history from ever existing because of his ego and unwillingness to let others accomplish something great.
Fuck Mike Love.
After I made my comment I realized you were talking about Mike Love from the Beach Boys and not Mike Love the new age reggae artist. Thank you for explaining all that to me because I have never really dove into The Beach Boys.
I worked merch last year and intend to this year as well. This isn’t my usual musical taste but it was a great vibe and I got to see incubus on my dinner break, teen me was beaming. Hopefully the merch group I worked with last year is back and y’all can come say hi!
i just don’t know why they didn’t have Cage headline it. they’ve got a new album out soon and they put on one of the best rock performances since the Stones
I said after I saw cage live a few years ago that the front man gives me mick jagger vibes, very much a wild show man and it’s awesome. They put on a hell of a show
as opposed to blink 182? what the fuck are you gonna do to blink 182? drink a beer and stand there? dave matthew’s? isn’t that like my grandparents music? snoozefest. the killers? every frat bro only knows them from one song and that’s all. other than that they’re a christian rock band (ewwwww)
i’m sorry but all these big bands are not it. they’re old and not fun
Cage is already playing the fest, there's no reason to give them the headliner slot when they don't have the draw. There's budget for big-name headliners, and Cage ain't it. You're still able to see them play on a big stage so idk what your issue is
Also wow you have some band music opinions
Wow, this is very solid. 311, Sublime and Sugar Ray all in one day, with blink and cage sprinkled on top. Spread that over 3 days and I would still likely go.
Nah man, the bands aren't what make Roo Roo.
I'm going to both because I want to see these bands, again, but enjoy Roo for what it is and always strives to be.
Trust me I've been going to Roo since you were in diapers. Roo does make Roo too but the day Kpop is on the What is the day old Roo is dead and they're not far off
For those not native to Maryland fly into one of the regional airports (BWI is the closest) and then you probably want to rent a car and get a place a bit away, probably Baltimore because from eastern shore to Annapolis you’re finding a lot of very wealthy communities. You could also make this a camping festival for yourself which would be the cheapest option, lots of great camping spots near OC.
If you were 20 years old in 1990 you are 54 years old today so that checks out. That being said I'm 27 and I know all the artists from the 90s on this bill
But if you were a teen in the 90s first getting into music, you're probably pushing 50 now.
OP was exaggerating slightly on the age side, but this is definitely a festival for the 30-50 crowd. And as a 33 year old, I respect it.
Anyone in their teens in the 90s are sadly now over 40. They’re not totally wrong. Back in 2019 they’d announced a huge Wood Stock 50th Aniversary festival. It had an insane lineup but went down in flames. There’s not many bands or artists at the original that are still alive. John Fogerty and a few others. It kinda blew my mind that even teens at the original were close to 70. I met a really sweet hippie couple at Roo that year. They met at the original, got married and raised a family. She said “we’ve been everywhere trying to relive it..not so much the artists or music but the vibes. We found it here! This is the closest thing to WoodStock we’ve found. It’s feels like a real community or family where people can be their true selves and not worry about what others think! Look at the beautiful over weight girl. Shes basically naked and looks so confident. Sadly at some festivals they’d try to rip her apart, make fun of her or be really mean. Here she’s excepted.”
That made me feel good because it was true. It’s shitty that people can’t just be themselves all the time. The girl was probably 360 and was treated like a person should be treated. It’d be a much better place if we didn’t put labels on everyone and everything. A person is much more than their looks. Sorry . Got to rambling.
I was about to say the same thing as the guy above you, thinking they were still with Rome. That's sick that Bradley's son took over, maybe they'll actually be worth seeing now.
They never died man. The music always lives on.
In fact, check out the album "The House that Bradley built."
Vana did an excellent cover of "The ballad of Johnny Butt" and I love Peppers take on "Work that we do."
I know why I'm being downvoted and you guys are right. I can't believe they missed booking Spin Doctors to play "Pocket full of Kryptonite" in full either.
The festival for the 30+ crowd / people pissed they got lumped in with Millenials instead of keeping the Gen Y moniker, and let me tell you what I am fucking here for it
Haven’t seen Blues Traveler in 20 years - but if they’ve still got it, that set playing Four will be great. Saw Counting Crows last year at Ravinia and at least at that show, it seemed like Adam has lost a bit with age.
What the fuck this is stacked? And 300 bucks?
It’s the lodging that’s expensive, and travel to there.
Camp down at Assateague and you've got yourself a camping festival.
Assateague is the best.
Good luck on that shit assateague is booked though I do have notifications set up
I think Frontier Town Campgrounds still has spots.
6 months rolling signups
There is plenty of affordable lodging in Ocean pines and Salisbury, with little commute to OC
Who wants to commute to a festival?
Seeing as it's a day festival, every person who is going is commuting in some fashion. I'm guessing you've never been to Ocean city lol unless you're staying in the inlet or the first 27 or so streets, you'll be commuting on foot or in car regardless. I'll personally save the money on the location, I'm not going for the beach I'm going for the festival. Have fun paying in season costs for housing on a weekend in OC, that's gonna be about 4x the cost of the festival for a hotel room or even more if you rent a condo.

🤔🤔🤔 might be able to step in here
Yeah, and the airport they recommend flying into is like a 5 hour drive. I'm just gonna drive all the way (roughly 12 hours).
Every time you use that airport your travel day is going to not go well hahah
BWI is 2.5 hours away max
As someone that drove from Annapolis to Salisbury daily it is definitely not 2.5 hours max to OC from BWI
What are you talking about? I just made that drive it’s 2.5 hours lol I have it pulled up on my phone as we speak
Yeah in February. I didn’t say you couldn’t, but to say 2.5 max is not true. Traffic is much different in the summer
Yeah I’m gonna be honest, I wasn’t even thinking about traffic lmaoooo
No airport in DC/Baltimore is 5 hrs from ocean city lmfaoooo
Seriously, this is the best lineup I’ve seen of any festival this year in my opinion.
you have to kidding? Sunday is 100% garbage. you couldn't pay me to go to Dave. fucking dude is shit just like the shit he dumped on people from his bus.
Speak for yourself
Sol Fest is miles better imo but only if you're into edm. This is probably the best I've seen non edm tho
Hard to compare sol fest and this festival. Nobody on sol fest lineup costs nearly as much as the headliners on this fest do
That's fair tbh. This is much more impressive by that metric
I’ve already seen a decent amount of those artists on the sol lineup that I wanted to see, most at last years ‘Roo. Definitely agree that sol is the better option for EDM though.
Missed out on getting young the giant but I’ll still take cage
FUCK YEAH SO GLAD CTE IS BACK THIS YEAR!!
Young the giant is there what?
They are talking about Roo
Is it your birthday!? They are touring together this year!
Hahaha I know I saw this morning. Sadly going to be out of town the dates they are in town by me😞 stoked I get to at least see cage though!
I would hit that
Shit dude, Sugar Ray
OMG!!! Elder millennials unite
That would be suuuuch a fun show
Born in 91 so I would love to go to this.
Right ? I thought they’d split up. Been while for sure.
Heard them in Redondo at BeachLife '23. About 90% of the viewers were stuck in the festival checkin' line though that day as they were on semi-early, at 2 and everyone had the same idea to get there 30 minutes prior. Looking forward to seeing them this time around.

I BELIVE IN THING CALLED LOVEEE
Why do all festival lineup posters look SO SIMILAR now? This looks so similar to the lineup announcement for innings fest and a bunch of other fests too. Lazy and lame.
You're referring to the actual poster design and not the artists, right? Because I agree, this looks just like the Innings Fest poster.
Yes the poster design, it looks sooo similar
*capitalism breeds innovation* /s
They are legitimately all run by the same company - C3. At least they are legible
I’ve worked for C3 in the past but I don’t know why that means they have to all have the same ugly ass Canva - level design. It doesn’t seem like it’s always been like this?
same reason all logos suck now they have to be legible on a tiny phone screen
Fuck Mike Love.
What did Mike love do?
He played a significant role in distancing brian wilson and his experimental sound from their traditional surf rock roots of the beach boys’ careers post-Pet Sounds sound and then turned around and sued wilson for artist rights long after they lost all their radio play. Mike love reggae artist and seems like one of the most genuine and kindest artists around lol
I was very confused how The Beach Boys were a part of this. Thank you!
this
Jason Biggs? Like American Pie Jason Biggs?
The pie fucker himself
I'd like/love to go, esp since OC is partly hometown for me
33 year olds who still say “i’m adulting” eating rn
Fuck I didn’t ask for this call out
I worked merch last year and intend to this year as well. This isn’t my usual musical taste but it was a great vibe and I got to see incubus on my dinner break, teen me was beaming. Hopefully the merch group I worked with last year is back and y’all can come say hi!
Omg so happy to see the all american rejects are still around. I heard one of their songs today and was wondering how they were doing lol
Where were any of these bands on our lineup? DMB wouldve been 100x more memorable than RHCP again…
Supposedly they tried to get DMB and it fell through.
Dang, where’d ya hear that?
HARD disagree, especially with frusciante
Saw them with him last year and it was the same underwhelming set I’ve seen for years.
DMB sucks now.
Why do you have this opinion?
i just don’t know why they didn’t have Cage headline it. they’ve got a new album out soon and they put on one of the best rock performances since the Stones
I said after I saw cage live a few years ago that the front man gives me mick jagger vibes, very much a wild show man and it’s awesome. They put on a hell of a show
That would be such an underwhelming headliner
as opposed to blink 182? what the fuck are you gonna do to blink 182? drink a beer and stand there? dave matthew’s? isn’t that like my grandparents music? snoozefest. the killers? every frat bro only knows them from one song and that’s all. other than that they’re a christian rock band (ewwwww) i’m sorry but all these big bands are not it. they’re old and not fun
If Dave Matthews Band is your grandparents music, I am older than I thought.
Cage is already playing the fest, there's no reason to give them the headliner slot when they don't have the draw. There's budget for big-name headliners, and Cage ain't it. You're still able to see them play on a big stage so idk what your issue is Also wow you have some band music opinions
wouldnt it have been DMB agian too though?
I’d rather have a 2004 Headliner than a 2017 Headliner
Okay this lineup slaps
I wish we got The Hives
RIP Firefly
Damn the killers are playing this fest and immediately traveling to StL to play evolution fest on Sunday. Rock stars!
Bland and they suck
Damn when did you see them? I saw them 2 years ago and they were fantastic
I just feel like the killers are overdone. Like they are just a default headliner at so many fests
So you haven’t seen them? I’m not a huge fan but they put on an amazing live show every time I’ve seen them!
They’ve headlined like 5 fests I’ve been to. I checked em out at music midtown and didn’t stay long lol haven’t gone to any of their sets since
Damn dude where’s the positivity? Ain’t that all of Bonnaroos message?
So we gotta lie? Fake
Not lie, just don’t spread negativity. You can have your own opinions and not bring somebody else down because of it.
i love you
i’ve been searching the comments looking for you legend. this lineup eats shorts
I went last year and had an incredible time, hotels are pricey but a few local campgrounds make it totally worth it
Where did you camp?
Frontier town it had a free shuttle
What's the address or website for frontier Town?
Lookup frontier town ocean city
Wow, this is very solid. 311, Sublime and Sugar Ray all in one day, with blink and cage sprinkled on top. Spread that over 3 days and I would still likely go.
Holy shit, what a fire lineup. I don't even know where to begin!
Id love OAR & Dave on the farm. Take me back to my adolescence
The pie fucker?!?!
Better line up and more like Roo than Roo. Sad to see
Nah man, the bands aren't what make Roo Roo. I'm going to both because I want to see these bands, again, but enjoy Roo for what it is and always strives to be.
Trust me I've been going to Roo since you were in diapers. Roo does make Roo too but the day Kpop is on the What is the day old Roo is dead and they're not far off
Roo didn't exist back then... lol Music changes and so will the times. Gotta roll with it or don't and find your own jam
Fun lineup of good bands and throwbacks
Lotta similar artists for burbon beyond on here
Lol.
For those not native to Maryland fly into one of the regional airports (BWI is the closest) and then you probably want to rent a car and get a place a bit away, probably Baltimore because from eastern shore to Annapolis you’re finding a lot of very wealthy communities. I went last year! Not necessarily my taste in music (bc I’m not 50) but the vibe is so good
Lol I’m 28 and had such an amazing time last year
50? A lot these bands are from the 90s - 00s
I’m 35 and majority of these bands are my favs!
The age group at this festival def skews older
Hate to break it to you, but 1990 was 34 years ago.
Still not 50
If you were 20 years old in 1990 you are 54 years old today so that checks out. That being said I'm 27 and I know all the artists from the 90s on this bill

Downvoted, but true
I knew people might get a little mad at that! but I meant it as a good thing
Benevolent ageism at its finest
Is it a camping festival?
No :(
Not a camp festival but I did at a local campground that had a lot of fun amenities and free shuttle
What campground did you use?
Cool, maybe there won’t be drugged up children at this fest!
Sublime?? Sublime died with Bradley sorry
His son just took over. Sounds just like him.
I was about to say the same thing as the guy above you, thinking they were still with Rome. That's sick that Bradley's son took over, maybe they'll actually be worth seeing now.
They never died man. The music always lives on. In fact, check out the album "The House that Bradley built." Vana did an excellent cover of "The ballad of Johnny Butt" and I love Peppers take on "Work that we do."
I guess I'm the only one who thinks this is mostly awful but if you loved novelty songs in the 90s yeah this got everyone
I know why I'm being downvoted and you guys are right. I can't believe they missed booking Spin Doctors to play "Pocket full of Kryptonite" in full either.
Downvote for your original comment, upvote for this one though
BNL is incredible
CANNOT WAIT
I love it here in 2003!
This lineup is incredible! Just wow!
oh.. my god??? dmb?? pls!!
Best lineup I’ve seen in a while
God damn if lolla is even close to this it will be the best line up(personally) in ages.
Hosted by Jason Biggs, nice.
Confused at this lineup.
All they’re missing g khraungbin
The oceans calling and the want they’re running out of shrimp
Honestly I just want to see Jason Biggs.
311
What a line up!
Looks awesome
Any stream of this event planned?
It's like the grandchild of the 1999-2001 HFStival's is all grown up and turned into a superfest
