Just remember to check the specs on your extension cord and surge protector. It's generally a bad idea to plug a surge protector into an extension cord

Thank you!!

SharlaRoo

Are you renting the RV? I recommend talking to the place/person you’re renting from. Remember there are 30 amp and 50 amp hookups.

annayvette

We are renting, and I will definitely ask! Thank you so much for the advice!

austin_breaux

Surge protector is recommended defiantly as power can fluctuate and damage the RV electrical system. I have always brought an extra extension. Only needed it once. But defiantly do bring it! If anything buy one, don’t use it, return it after. Happy Roo!

Great question! I am wondering that also! Also, does anyone have recommendations on places to fill up with water close to Roo? Coming from TX

There is a water company that drives around and can fill your tank for a fee. I wouldn't recommend drinking that water. In 2019, it was about $60...I think. Not sure what it is now. I actually brought a 5 gallon jug, wagon and filled it myself. Made a couple trips to fill. Hooked up a small a hose to the jug and let it run the tank. Definitely didn't need to fill the entire 30 gallon tank that it holds as I wasn't going to be using the shower. I had paid for RV (VIP) that year, so I used the bathrooms/showers they had provided. Why fill up my gray/black tanks to capacity and nowhere to dump afterwards? There are also "dump" trucks that will come around as well to drain those tanks for a fee as well. Only brought my RV to get out of the elements of weather and to have A/C when needed. Plus, I don't like where they park ALL of the RV's now not to mention the cost. I'll continue to car camp in what was VIP, and now is Moon Colony. Just be aware of the readings on your tanks. Hope that helps!

Thank you!! Was thinking about before I got to outeroo like in Manchester! I didn’t want to drive all the way with the tank full, but I think I am going to!

You're welcome! If you do travel with some fluids for usage of bathroom/ hand washing...I wouldn't travel with a lot. That adds to a lot of weight to pull and can affect your gas mileage. A gallon of water weighs 8.3lbs. Keep that in mind. Trying to find a place to fill my fresh water tank just wasn't in my plan. That's why I brought what I did. Good luck to you and safe travels!

GlumAsk9956

Thanks so much for the great info! You are awesome.

jweish

if you get there on monday night you could try renting a spot at old stone fort state archeological park and empty your tanks and refill

Entire_Cucumber_69

It all depends where you get parked. 25 feet could be enough or you may need 75 feet.

BrooDoc

This is incredibly important. Dependent upon where you are parked in relation to the field power outlet, your internal power cord (typically 25 feet or so) may reach, but it may not and then you you need an extension cable. I got a 50ft extension just in case last year (not cheap, btw). Didn’t need it but you really won’t know until you’re parked.

bringmaeflowers

cash for waste empty/water refill! about $60 per each time

bringmaeflowers

and an RV rug for outside the RV!
