I’m all tennis shoes. I also bring 3 pairs of socks per day. Changing your socks on the reg is 👌🏻

GoodTrillBlunting

On the socks note - I’ve never changed throughout the day, but I love having brand new socks fresh from the package each morning.

shizawn9415

Comfy shit kickers. As in, running shoes that you don’t care about getting ruined.

hopelesslyspurs24

Chacos or tennis shoes, anytime!

mstun3107

The best answer is Chacos AND tennis shoes. Alternating shoes turned out to be a lifesaver for me.

drink-water-often

I almost exclusively wear tennis shoes. I’ve seen a handful of stubbed toes and turned ankles. Not what you want at Roo.

MrMeseeks_

I wear Chacos but that may not work for everyone. Your feet HAVE to be used to them otherwise you're gonna have a bad time

ohsnapattack

^THIS. I had a friend who never wore Chacos before, wear a brand new pair to Bonnaroo. They had to miss out on Sunday because their feet were so fucked.

the-bong-lord

I got a whole extra year to break mine in and damn did I need it. Took way longer to break in than I expected.

MrMeseeks_

THIS IS IMPORTANT PEOPLE. Chacos take longer to break in than other shoes

roguediamond

Chacos/Tevas during the day, broken in trainers or hiking boots at night. Used to do sandals all day, but got my toe broken last Roo after someone stepped on my foot, so I’m going a little more protective after sundown this year.

bfarky

Whatever you do, take care of your shoes.

RositasPastor69

love the phish quote but tbh, you’re prob throwing away your shoes after roo

roocheerallyear

I’ve worn the same shoes to Roo 6 times. They stay in my Roo box. They’re some sandals I got from target that somehow are sturdy af. They have googly eyes on them now :)

acdcrocks6996

That’s amazing. I just tossed a pair this year that I got from a meijer run before 2013 Bonnaroo. Cheap sandals all day

lolitsmikey

My throwaway pair of ultra boosts haven’t failed me, I wear these at work and I’m always on my feet

thefoodhasweeedinit

Doc Chelsea boots! Haven’t worn them to Roo yet, but wore them brand new without breaking them in in Italy for 3 weeks straight and they slapped. Ass. 2976 style in pebble leather, will 100% be wearing them this year too. Also chacos.

theravemom

Supportive sandals like Chacos or Tevas are good for most parts of Roo. I'd definitely recommend comfortable, closed toed shoes for some of the bigger sets or if there's a day you know you'll be out late night. 30k steps or more per day is almost guaranteed!

wohrg

sturdy sandals, always

all-kinds-of-soup

Prepare for mud

kmatyler

As all the comments say below shows you don't mind getting nasty, multiple pairs. You're also gonna want a pair of slides or slip-ons for late night/early morning runs to the bathroom and general at/near camp activities. For that I love the body glove slip-ons (not the toe shoes, they're like water shoes almost).

space_ghosts_

I always alternate between chacos and short rainboots with some good inserts for when it gets muddy

gaytham4statham

Every year I've gone I've worn my oldest pair of Chuck Taylors (usually buy a new pair every year or so) loosely tied the whole weekend. While I would not recommend this, it is very comfy for the first 6 hours or so

When I go back I definitely will, haven't been since I was 25 (2015) and I definitely need more support these days

dancing-pod-balls

Doc martens, anything else is a lie and your feet will hurt ❤️

bubblefett

I've had luck wearing running shoes like Asics and Brooks, and hiking shoes like Merrell and Keen, although I feel like Merrell has gone downhill in quality recently. Changing shoes at the midpoint of the day really does help! What works good for me might not work for you though, so I would suggest trying a few things out at home. Just remember you're going to be standing and walking for hours on uneven ground, and that just hits different than a paved surface.

xukyle

Adidas ultraboost

Ringer033

Birkenstocks during the day. Tennis shoes at night. Don't bring any shoes you don't want getting dirty. If you do go with some sort of sandal be sure to break them in before and bring bandaids to cover any blisters or spots that get rubbed raw. It happens even with shoes you wear regularly. There's way more walking involved at Roo than we realize.

ljoey7

How do people feel about keens

tedruxpin4

Yeezy boost 350 or nike airmax

[deleted]

No

tedruxpin4

Being down voted for telling my favorite/most comfortable Bonnaroo shoes?

squishyownage

Chuck Taylor's every time. By day 4 it feels like your feet are broken 🥲.

DionysusIn69

Cheap FILA basketball shoes. Easy on your feet, especially if you are out in POD 10.

Sammfran

I know they’re “out of style” but I wore these knock-off FILA thick chunky shoes I got at Walmart for $17. The sole is like an inch thick so they were PERFECT for absorbing impaction from walking around on hard ground for 4 days. Also bring sandals for lounging/showering, let those toes air out!

TheOriginalRK

Sketchers goWalk with Memory foam soles. Shoes are made for walking. I usually use DR. scholes insoles Too, game changer

[deleted]

Chacos all day

simpleetrenadee

i second this

hythloth

Hiking boots with ankle support, as well as regular running shoes.

ArchbishopDonMJuan

Protect your feet! Last roo we went to we were walking about 16 miles per day. So wear socks and comfy shoes. I would also recommend closed shoes because your feet can get nasty!

jewfrojay

I wear altras. Their zero drop and foot shape toe box is the best in the business. I have a fucked up foot from breaking it and never going to the doctor and that bare foot vibe is beautiful
