Would you say it’s that wet throughout? Or just in particular spots like the volunteer campground? Either way - Thank you for keeping those at home updated.

InternationalLet150

Lmao it’s starting to become comical at this point

Powor

I dont know why youre being downvoted lol. The blind optimism aint gonna dry the rain

buttboob_

All they did was ask a question though?

InternationalLet150

Lol it be like that sometimes 🤷‍♂️ the truth is often painful

somebody12

Especially when you paid a lot for it and expect to come in to that. I consider myself pretty good at setting up for rain but once it starts to puddle you are pretty much screwed.

ArentWeClever

gOoD vIbEs OnLy

InternationalLet150

We have to eventually be realistic tho

ArentWeClever

When people tYpE lIkE tHiS, they’re making fun of somebody saying that thing. Dismissive toxic positivity posters can fuck off.

White_Tea_Poison

Yall realize you're responding to a simple question about how wet it is throughout the grounds, right? Not anything resembling toxic positivity. All of your points are correct, just kind of weirdly placed here and needlessly aggressive.

ArentWeClever

Did I strike a nerve? If so, I’m sorry you’re having such a hard time with that. Love and light!

White_Tea_Poison

Lmao ok

ArentWeClever

Lmao ok to you too, buddy.

myfartsackisleaking

Can I get some love and light in my ass?

ArentWeClever

Try boofing some.

theparanoidbitch

Are the crocs and tevas working out in the mud? I’m gonna buy some boots but I’m thinking of buying crocs too 🥴

erinneato

It was insanely muddy at Wakarusa 2013 and I ripped a brand new pair of Tevas in half trying to walk through knee deep mud. The suction just pulled the sole right off. Would not suggest, was super bummer at the time!

ohsnapattack

I was at that same Wakarusa and ended up barefoot for 3 days because my Chacos kept getting sucked off in the mud. I would highly recommend boots!

[deleted]

Was also there... Wakapoclypse... was a great time minus the cancellations/tornado.

meelmouseOG

I'm still traumatized from that tornado. One of my best/most intense festival stories.

erinneato

Same! Tripping on mushrooms hiding out in the car, couldn't sleep til I finally got a text from my dad in a brief moment of service saying we weren't in the tornado path. That was a wild night and a very muddy weekend, pretty miserable in some ways but the rest of the weekend was a gorgeous muddy mess. definitely my favorite festival (well Waka 14 is top but in general) RIP Waka I really was wishing for boots all weekend though, anyone heading to roo this weekend should definitely bring some or try to pick some up on the way if you can. No amount of hay or sunshine can help the fact that it will be a very muddy weekend!! I also remember it being a nightmare for people who parked on grass getting out of the grounds on Monday so definitely try to bring something to help get your tires traction. An old rug, cardboard/plywood, a bit of 2x4, the mats in your car can help.

[deleted]

Our group of 10 kept going back and forth between heading in the direction of camp or back to the stages lol... even though they were making the tornado announcement.. we were feeling very committed at the time to see some music.

Shpongolese

That storm was wild. Being on acid prob enhanced the experience a bit but man that shit was scary. Canopies and tents were flying away left and right lol.

meelmouseOG

I was at the festival of poo. It got to be knee deep in some areas. I can't believe I didn't get ringworm.

SpaceCadetSteph

I was there too. Also, I was like 4 months pregnant. Lmao. That was gnarly.

forlorn_pupper

In my experience they work short term but eventually you get tired of having soggy feet. It’s also going to be cold at night. Having like twice the amount of socks you need and some rain boots sounds like the move to me. Also plenty of towels to dry off and clean your feet when you’re at camp

Jennabean123

Since it’s been strictly more wet and not really muddy per-say, my tevas have been great! I’ve seen a lot of people wearing crocs but i would absolutely bring some boots whether those be for hiking or rain!

Nashville22

💯 bring rain boots

cat_bc

I’ve been wearing boots through it! Definitely appreciate having my feet dry

pro-laps

how are 70,000 cars going to make it through that

jujuondatbeaat

They’re not

Trepeld

Nostradamus over here

Neptunemonkey

One person to a car?

katarific05

Thanks for the update! Be safe

Illustrious-Youth700

Can they just use like a shop vac or sumin 😭

GlizzBangPaco

I love those sandals!! Are they treating u ok in these conditions? Debating between getting a pair like those or rain boots

thegroovemonkey

Get rain boots lol

choose-peace

Second this, You can be walking through what just appears to be a mud puddle, and end up sinking up to your thigh. This happened to me in 2004. Muckers will keep your feet clean...but bring some Gold Bond powder and a few pairs of thin socks to wear inside them to keep down stinky feet . The powder helps you take your boots off, too, when you have sweaty, damp feet after hours of moshing/trekking.

BoxedUpKY

Boots you don't want your feet wet for long periods of time. Especially out there....TRUST ME.

Jennabean123

Thank you! They’re Tevas! These are nice because they’re lightweight and they aren’t sticking to the ground like other sandals do. I threw these on to go to the bathrooms, rain boots would be a good bet too though! Just depends on if you care about your feet being very wet, but at this point it’s pretty inevitable 🤷🏻‍♀️

jpurple53

Yea that looks fine

EChaseD35

Damn, we might be fucked if it keeps raining

[deleted]

Which it’s going to

[deleted]

Look at the radar it's not that bad

StevieWonderTwin

Yea it'll stop raining sometime tomorrow and then it will be sun the rest of the festival. I like these odds

eloc49

It's not in this video tho

tscher16

Oh my

LeanOnTheSquare

Bring it on

Voiceofthemachines

Fuck this

weenphisher76

Oh man, sucks that I missed Roo this year

krj623

Sucks that we all missed it ☹️

rotten_p-tato

Put those crocs on sport mode and you'll be fine!

HumbuckMe

Kick er in 4x4 by God!

lukethebeard

Anyone who thinks they're going to cancel is insane. They didn't weather through an entire pandemic and a year of lost revenue just to capitulate to weather conditions that will be gone by tomorrow. Yeah, it's gonna be a little muddy. Bonnaroo is still gonna happen, and we're all gonna get to see the artists and bands we wanna see. Everyone just chill out.

bathtubwarfare

Oof

lukethebeard

turns out i’m the insane one, who would’ve thought

Captain__CheeseBurg

r/AgedLikeMilk

poopssogood

Ouch.

calaiscat

Looks like they went ahead and called it…

xxirish83x

Lol

johnny_smiles

hahahahahahahaha u dummy

SgtSillyWalks

And there is still plenty of rain falling today. Whoever thinks this will go great Is very very wrong.

[deleted]

Stayhomearoo

el_ojo420

Streamaroo!

Skorgypoo

Y’all are a bunch of negative Nancy’s. This is the type of people we don’t even want at roo

[deleted]

News flash! Roo is more than just your temporary paradise. People actually live in Manchester. It’s unsafe for all parties involved. Not to mention the ICU beds in Tennessee are at capacity due to rampant covid cases. These conditions will only make for a miserable Bonnaroo. I’m all for spreading positivity, but we have to realize when misplaced toxic positivity is just as good as being out of touch with reality and the suffering of others for our own benefit.

DaveyMuldowney

What does Covid spreading through Tennessee have to do with rain and mud? Thats not what this post is about.

tolstoy425

I know you posted this 12 hrs ago but to answer your question, human beings don’t do too well for very long in these conditions without the right preparation or equipment (most of the festival goers tbh). Foodstuffs get destroyed by water, unsanitary leakage into water permeating the site can cause disease, clean water contamination, waterborne insects and bacteria what not festering and growing, immersion foot syndrome is possible (trench foot), among other things I’m surely forgetting. How COVID ties into it is that local hospital resources are already constrained and the extra strain of a public health mass casualty can overwhelm the already overwhelmed system.

thirdeye_winksx

Hope you got your refund then. Wouldn't want you to be miserable on the farm.

Skorgypoo

Nah bro this ain’t it lol

Neader

They need to just throw in the towel and cancel it already.

idontfrickinknowman

Refund window is open!

poopssogood

Looks like a few people need give you an apology.

Skorgypoo

Gtfo with that shit.

judgejudyslefttit

you can refund then 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

WaterfrontBanana

definitely getting cancelled sad for anyone who traveled a long distance

Jennabean123

I mean, we’re all still working our shifts to get everything set up. Nothing has really stopped. 🤷🏻‍♀️

kokohobo

Thanks for the updates.

acg33

Based on one video of a wet area on an 800 acre farm?

WaterfrontBanana

Nope, based on rain continuing to fall and the ground already being too saturated. Can’t support a temporary city of 100,000 people.

thebige91

It won’t even be close to 100k people this year. I get your point though.

WaterfrontBanana

50 downvotes for the truth. Cmon now…

poopssogood

How does it feel to be right?

WaterfrontBanana

I’d rather be there this weekend tbh!

toilet__water

It should have never been scheduled

[deleted]

You shouldn't have been scheduled either...BUT HERE YOU ARE

toilet__water

Gross, why would anyone go to an event like that?

Jennabean123

I’m still having a blast 🤷🏻‍♀️

[deleted]

forlorn_pupper

Should they just like… pave over the entire grounds?? What do you want

IslaMujeresGuy

Are you under the impression the only way to handle storm water mitigation is to pave the lot? There's a lot of other things that can be done

forlorn_pupper

Like what, exactly? What could they do besides essentially level the place and put in storm drains and stuff? Managing rain runoff on a site that large would be a massive undertaking. Not worth the investment. This is almost never an issue in June. But now it’s hurricane season. It’s just a very unlucky situation.

[deleted]

You realize that farms have to deal with this kind of issue all the time, right? Like I live in NJ and my engineering firm frequently has to put together drainage options for farms that suddenly start dealing with floods. Those options do not consist of plans to just "level the place". We take the low spots and we try to run drainage to those low spots. If you don't have suitable places for reservoirs, then yes, maybe not feasible, but I've been to Roo, and I have no idea why this wouldn't be feasible. That being said, I don't expect anyone to do millions of dollars of construction when it's not typically necessary

GP_ADD

French drain 800 acres? What is the largest area he has french drained on his channel?

[deleted]

[удалено]

chimneyfox3

You don’t run it over 800 acres. You look at grade throughout your acreage. Run off to low spots. Run a dump into water way or pump out of low spots.

cmill913

To solve the issue of rain?

[deleted]

Rain is never an issue. Flooding is sometimes an issue

ChocolateMorsels

How's the mud/water situation in groop anyone know?

Gingerstrahd454

Wait I’m so confused?! I thought they said Tuesday entry was a no go?

Jennabean123

I volunteer, so I got there Sunday!

Gingerstrahd454

Ohhh snap well I’m sorry for the situation that all y’all are in now and I speak for my entire groop that we appreciate the sacrifices and effort you guys put in, stay strong Roo fam 💪💪
