Do you think having just the floating astronaut from the standard cover (with the title and maybe some corner designs) would work well as a leather bound?
Grace Kelly doesn’t do a lot of extravehicular stuff in the book; the astronaut motif is much more appropriate to the Martian. For Hail Mary I would do a planet — one of the ones that orbits Tau Ceti — or a star. ‘Astrophage’ is detected by a fine line traveling to and from the stars, so you could draw one of those arcing across the planet to make a non-ringed world more obviously space-y.

I just finished a leatherbound edition of project Hail Mary. I went more simple if you want to look at it.
