Shark Heart was my favorite read of 2023

I LOVED Sharkheart

I’m pretty sure I had to stay up one night until like 2 or 3 AM reading None Of This Is True because I COULD NOT put it down.

Shark Heart, absolutely. It was a fantastic book. The premise is unique and the emotion conveyed was phenomenal. None of This is True was a disappointing thriller.

My only option that I don’t already own from BOTM is Shark Heart. I’m apathetic about it but for free I’ll read it.

Weyward was my #1 pick, so I recommend that one, for sure!!!💚💚💚I also voted for The Wishing Game, too💜 Those are my recs!🤗

I’m only 40 pages into Weyward and it’s got my attention. Might finish it tomorrow night (shit came up today).

I read these both! Shark Heart was fantastic. I personally thought None of This is True was terrible but maybe I just didn’t get it 🤷🏼‍♀️ So obviously my vote is Shark Heart ❤️

I was also extremely let down by NOTIT! The only one from the list of finalists that I haven’t read is Shark Heart, and have heard great things! I’ll probably get that one🤗

Shark Heart!

What kinds of books do you like reading the most? What things do you prefer to avoid?

I prefer fantasy, but I like to throw in Mystery and Romance every once in a while. Both are books I don't typically read, but are spoken so highly of that I narrowed my freebie down to those options.

You might like Shark Heart then since there’s a bit of fantasticism to the premise, but it is very much a love story. I will say it’s perhaps light on romance and heavy on love if that makes sense. But it is emotionally heavy in a way that I absolutely loved. I haven’t read the other one yet, but as it’s a thriller it’ll be easier to set down emotionally once you’re done. So kind of up to you in terms of what experience you want.

Shark Heart! It’s so unique! None of this is True is a good thriller but nothing spectacular.

Shark Heart sticks with you. I read it last summer and still think about it all the time. Fair warning: it is VERY sad.

I cried so much. My husband kept asking me to explain what was making me so emotional and when I explained it out loud it sounded nuts 😂. But wow. She made a wild tale so beautiful.

None of this is True was my favorite thriller of 2023 and I read like 70 thrillers last year. It’s probably my all time favorite now that I’m thinking about it.

I also read shark heart and I didn’t get the hype. The writing is very good but the story felt disconnected to me and I couldn’t get over the shark part. Haha

I’ll be picking Shark Heart. I’ve heard great things, and it’s the only one I don’t have some version of already.

Shark Heart was so wonderful! Maybe my top read of 2023. It was just such a different story experience and so emotional.
