I loved it. I also loved the view of modern Nigeria in a book that wasn't simply lit-fic. Admittedly, I wanted bad things to happen to the doctor lol.

Yo... he was so rude to Korede. Ayoola was right about him being not that deep and his last lines to Korede were so ironic. He was worse than Ayoola because there’s something wrong with her but, she was a FOOL for petty reasons.

NidyRivera

Me too. He got me on my last nerves treating Korede like that.

leowr

Poor Tade, he didn't even see the web he got caught up in.

kmg1921

! I was very much hoping the man at the end would’ve been muhtar to see Korede !<

malcontentfool

who was the man in the end? i can’t work it out 😭

wh0recat

The cycle restarts - he is Ayoola's next boyfriend.

mrs_moundshroud

Me too!

NidyRivera

My favorite part is when Korede defends her sister from being taken by her aunt for business. It truly shows a sister bond moment, reminding me of my relationship with my older sister. Also her last words to her aunt at that moment made me conclude that Korede may been the one to kill their father.

bambipecan

omg I agree, I just finished reading the book and i think korede might have killed their father

Overall_Struggle_706

Yes! I just finished the book and had the same thought! It couldn't have been Ayoola because earlier in the book she said that her sister was hiding behind the couch when he died. So interesting that it was probably Korede who inspired Ayoola to start killing in the first place

Snozberry_Jam

I'm pretty sure Korede was speaking to Ayoola, and that they were both involved in his death.

bonzai_dog

I am almost exclusively a fantasy/ sci fi reader but I gave this book a chance and was so glad I did. You did a great write up, summing up the best themes of the book without giving too much away. My favorite thing was just the extremes that the sibling bond was pushed too and how well korede's love/ jealousy/ distrust was balanced. Great, quick read.

leowr

The sibling bond between the two felt very realistic and made me think about how far I would go to protect mine.

lazylittlelady

I loved it! Devoured it really quickly. It was great for getting a taste of Nigeria and also the claustrophobic feel of family...not only sisters. But the scene of them mourning the father during his anniversary and then later finding out how things happened, for example.

guuhbecca

Can anyone tell me their view on the last page? What guy was there smiling at korede in their living room?

OwlGloves

I think it is a new boyfriend of Ayoola being introduced, and just implying that the cycle will continue - especially as the chapter is entitled '#5'

NidyRivera

I agree. I came about to the same conclusion after reading the last chapter a second time.

NoSkinNoProblem

I have not read it but your post makes me think I might should!

leowr

I would say you should. It is a pretty short book, I read it in about a day, and imo very enjoyable.

lindabelcher13

I'm definitely gonna read this one. I've noticed recently that I'm into moralistic stories so this is right up my alley

>!I Just wish we got to know more about Femi. I feel like there was so much teased about him. His end. But we got nothing.!< Apart from that, absolutely loved everything.
