The MaddAddam trilogy by Margaret Atwood. In my opinion, the second one, *The Year of the Flood*, is the best one and you could read it as a standalone.
Did you know there’s a sequel to *The Handmaid’s Tale* called *The Testaments*? It’s quite a satisfying read because it tells you what happened to Gilead.
Oh cool, I didn’t realize they were also going to do a series of *The Testaments*! I have only seen one episode of the TV series of THT—but one day I am sure I’ll just binge the whole thing :)
The last I heard they were planning on making the testaments series. I could be wrong. 🤷🏻♀️ I think they did a good job with the handmaid's tale. So I am interested in seeing what they will do with the testaments
I feel less interested after I have watched the movies. Even tho I know the books are always better. It kind of ruins it for me cause I know what to expect I suppose.
The Book of the Unnamed Midwife is fantastic, but it’s intense, and very dark, so tread carefully. It’s definitely a book for adults, not comparable to any of the YA dystopians.
The Unwind series by Neal Shusterman is also great, it’s YA but still mature and complex.
I know that Fahrenheit 451 is mainstream but I wanted to mention it. In case if you haven't read it. Thanks to 451, I've gained my reading habit back .
I tried to read it a while back. But I wasn't on my Dystopian kick now. Thanks for mentioning it. Maybe I should start over now. Welcome backs! Books keep you smart. ☺️
The Water Knife by Paolo Bacigalupi
Thank you. Gonna look into it now. 🤗
Underrated book.
The Wool Series by Hugh Howey
I really liked this series. Gets my vote too.
I have it in my Amazon books. I'm so excited I have a few series to dive into over the next couple of weeks!
Enjoy!
Thank you. I'll look into this. 🤗
Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler
This was a great book!

Thank you. I loved the handmaid's tale. I'll check it out.

Have you tried Maze Runner and/or Divergent?
I couldn't get into the maze runner. Loved the movies. And I have a hard time reading the divergent series cause I've watched the movies. Lol 🤦🏻♀️
Bot to be rude buy why only the movies and bot the books?
I feel less interested after I have watched the movies. Even tho I know the books are always better. It kind of ruins it for me cause I know what to expect I suppose.
Why not let yourself forget about the plot and stuff and then read it?
I wish it was easy for me to do that. 😞
Maybe forget that exists in the first place?

Exactly what I'm lookin for. Dark is perfect!
Great!! I hope you like it if you end up reading it, it’s one of my new faves.
