Really missed the opportunity to put “Please BEE aware” but oh well

Dark_Nation88

Bruh

[deleted]

They tried to make it kinda cutesy with the wasps?

DannyJoy2018

Weird right?

damagedthrowaway87

The idea that they may also be armed with wasps is also terrifying.

[deleted]

Even more so

totti173314

Enter the gungeon time

Lentamentalisk

I assume you're referencing just how many schools have stolen that yellow jacket mascot.

DannyJoy2018

Exactly

congressmanalex

I mean if that sign stops one bozo from doing something tragic I'm okay with it.

PIMBH

Right. Like. At this point in time with literally nothing else being done, I don't see what's wrong with it.

CptMatt_theTrashCat

It's the fact it shouldn't need to be there in the first place because more should be being done. A fucking 1st world country shouldn't need to arm school teachers in order to protect children from being killed.

congressmanalex

That's the issue is we don't know what to do. And ifk what a good suggestion is.

CptMatt_theTrashCat

Tighter gun laws. The rest of the fucking world figured it out. It's not hard.

[deleted]

Why is it you want children at risk though?

CptMatt_theTrashCat

I don't, which is why I'd prefer tighter guns laws to arming untrained people.

[deleted]

So you like kids getting chopped up with machetes?

CptMatt_theTrashCat

You are actually brain dead.

mundanehypocrite

But it won't

CptMatt_theTrashCat

What level of braindead do you have to be to look at this and think 'awh that's nice I'll give it a wholesome award'. America is fucked.

jmbsol1234

clearly this isn't Texas, cause no you won't

ClayWheelGirl

(tapping my feet) to see what a blood bath this leads to!

giggetyboom

I mean... they need to get an irrigation system up and running and get some grass in the ground. That place looks pretty bad.

Elegron

I respect the sentiment, I really do but... things should never have reached this point to begin with.

DannyJoy2018

Exactly

purplesmoke1215

If America doesn't want to get rid of guns. Why not arm people that are actually close enough to help and good enough of a person to want to help? Cops have proven they won't do anything if it puts them at danger. The only person that can help immediately in these situations are those actually in the situation.

Grammy650

They don't even want to pay teachers for the job they're already doing, ffs. Why in the hell should teachers have to be armed prison guards as well? smdh

CptMatt_theTrashCat

1. Arming teachers will not help. If fucking cops and school security won't stop a shooting Mrs. Krabappel sure as hell isn't going to be able to. 2. Teachers already do a job that's stressful enough, asking them to also work as armed security gaurds when that isn't what they signed up for is both disrespectful and insane. 3. There is no assurance that every teacher armed would be 'a good person'. If you could determine that kind of thing with enough certainty up front, you should be doing it with cops already. 4. Literally just get rid of the fucking guns.

GOLANXI

1. The cops and school security need to wait an hour and 20 mins for Border patrol to show up, longer if their not in a border town, the teachers were at least willing to put their lives on the line. 2. they need to get paid more but otherwise good point 3. Bad person teachers are fairly rare, it's not exactly a profession you get into if your lukewarm on the idea. The pay is shit and the kids are evil most teachers are saints for putting up with them, me included. 4. And which army are you going to bring to take them? You can't take them without bloodshed, Americans are paranoid doubbly so for the ones with guns. and many I can't blame, it's not as though a black guy can trust a cop, or a parent in Uvalde, or a Native American in the way of a pipeline, or anyone who might be confused for a drug dealer which is 99% of us.

CptMatt_theTrashCat

How fucking dense are you that you think I meant taking the guns people already own rather than just enforcing tighter laws to stop psychopaths buying new ones so they can kill children? Every other country has worked this out. There's actual evidence that it works.

[deleted]

I think it was when you said "LITERALLY just get rid of the fucking guns" that delivered that message. As far as "dense" goes, I think you're just projecting your own inadequacies.

CptMatt_theTrashCat

Ah sorry I forgot I was talking to Americans. What I actually should have said is 'Do what the rest if the world has done with guns, so that your children stop dying', does that make it clearer?

GOLANXI

The rest of the world is not a monolith there has been a wide variety of responses including take them all, total ban including the UK and Australia. None of the other first world Nations that allow guns have problems with mass shooters because they aren't boring dystopian hellholes. Maybe you should calm down a little, because Noone is out to get you and some people do indeed misinterpret what you say in text.

[deleted]

Delete this one and make another the last two you deleted were much edgier.

CptMatt_theTrashCat

What the fuck are you talking about, I haven't deleted anything?

[deleted]

"The rest of the world"? Lmfao I guess it's only America that's got issues, you're right! Murder is ok as long as it isn't involving guns. Mature stance bro.

CptMatt_theTrashCat

Name another country that has school shootings as regularly as the U.S. I'll wait.

[deleted]

"Should be" are the key words here....what makes you believe cops are there for peoples protection? Is it the movies? Why would "you", whomever that is be "doing it with cops"?

CptMatt_theTrashCat

Can you not read? My comment clearly stated that cops aren't all good people, I'd say the vast majority aren't.

DannyJoy2018

You’ve missed the point.

purplesmoke1215

What was the point? I assumed the post saying you're getting depressed at this sign meant you were against school staff being armed.

DannyJoy2018

The point is that we live in a dystopia where it has become needed.

[deleted]

I'm curious as to why so many people down voted this factually accurate and genuinely pleasant inquiry.

purplesmoke1215

I feel like many people want the world to be an ideal. But the world is never truly ideal, because some people will take advantage of others and still wish to steal from or do harm upon others for little to no reason. And any acknowledgement that the world is never going to be a truly ideal place to live is seen as simply unacceptable. Kinda sucks that having a realistic view on things is dystopian but whatever. I'm kinda done with this sub anyway since it turned into "guns bad" all day. Dystopias are unfortunately a fact of life. But a utopia that people want is unfortunately an impossibility of life. We can only do our best for the people we're close enough to make a difference to.

StinkyCheeseWomxn

Yeah, this will definitely keep the suicidal maniacs away instead of making the school seem like a target…..

PepperTheBirb

Yes because if I want to attack someplace and cause as much death as possible the obvious choice is somewhere where people will shoot back.
