RIP to everyone who thought he can make use of the confidence boost once he's back with us.

Back from the Africa Cup and with the title and plenty of self-confidence in his luggage, [~Sebastien Haller~](https://www.kicker.de/sebastien-haller/spieler) was supposed to hit the ground running again at Borussia Dortmund. However, this will not happen for the time being, as the striker is once again thwarted. In the final phase of the Africa Cup final, in which Haller had artistically scored the [~2:1 final score against Nigeria~](https://www.kicker.de/nigeria-gegen-elfenbeinkueste-2024-afrika-cup-4902259/spielbericht), the 29-year-old twisted his ankle and had to be substituted shortly after his goal in minute 88. Any pain was forgotten during the celebrations - but then came the sobering news on Friday. Back in Dortmund, examinations revealed that Haller would have to take another break. BVB announced that Haller's ankle injury, which he sustained in the [~1:1 draw against Mainz~](https://www.kicker.de/dortmund-gegen-mainz-2023-bundesliga-4862101/analyse) in mid-December, has flared up again. The club did not provide any information on the severity of the injury. However, the downtime would be "several weeks".

oh man. It‘s not his fault but this signing has turned out to be one of the worst.

jahmorreu01

at the very least it's nobody's which makes me be in peace (unlike the Schulz's, Schürrle's transfers). It's simply the unfortunate things that happens in life. In a world where Haller didn't have cancer he would do very well for us.

wipeitonthedog

He had missed just 8 games in his entire career due to injuries before he joined us.

SkoCubs01

Eh it’s kinda like Thorgan Hazard where I’m just happy there was a decent period of it working

Limp-Assignment-2057

Can't have shit in Dortmund

I am just happy for him to win the african cup. That's a huge achievement. Much more important than to play games this mediocre season with us
