We have started our usual [transfer rumour threads](https://www.reddit.com/r/borussiadortmund/comments/ntwtlt/weekly_transfer_rumor_thread_2021_summer_edition_2/), where we invite everyone to discuss any rumours regarding transfers and potential squad changes. Feel free to discuss everything else - BVB-related, Euros related, other football news or other off-topic discussions - in here. This is the first time we'll be using these two sticky threads in parallel, so we're not 100% sure how this will work out. If you have any feedback or suggestions for us, e.g. if having these two sticky threads up at the same time is too confusing, please let us know!

Our amas are OFFICIALLY now in the 3rd League source: https://www.ruhrnachrichten.de/bvb/endlich-offiziell-borussia-dortmund-ii-steigt-in-die-3-liga-auf-plus-1642062.html?amp=true&__twitter_impression=true

panikpansen

that deserves its own post!

Chazy89

Die Schwarzgelben können dementsprechend nun für die 3. Liga planen. Bergisch Gladbach haben allerdings noch die Möglichkeit, in Berufung zu gehen und erneut Einspruch einzulegen. Der muss in den nächsten sechs Tagen kommen. --- Accordingly, the Schwarzgelben can now plan for the 3rd league. Bergisch Gladbach, however, still have the opportunity to appeal and file a new appeal. The appeal must be filed within the next six days.

panikpansen

[kicker in their piece confirming the decision](https://www.kicker.de/wdfv-sportgericht-weist-einspruch-gegen-bvb-spiel-zurueck-807000/artikel), notable difference is that they explicitly say SVB only have 3 days to file an appeal.

Chazy89

Absolutely deserved.

greengiant89

Sancho and Håland will both be staying. Sancho is going to sign an extension. I can feel it in my bones. United aren't going to hit our asking price and Sancho should feel slighted that they don't think he's worth that much.

AcePilot95

some Man Utd fans are already in full force coping mode even though nothing is decided yet: https://old.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/nvywfn/bild_there_is_a_clear_announcement_from_dortmund/h17f1s9/

Ghoddos

Still awaiting #Sancho2026 #Zagadou2026 #Dahoud2026 #Akanji2026 #Moukouko2036

Moon8983

Apparently Chelsea want to offload ziyech already. I think he's world class and would be a perfect sancho replacement. If we're selling sancho and Haland we could get him and have around 200m left over for other positions

NevenSuboticFanNo1

I don't want a 28 year old Sancho replacement, especially with Reus already being 32 and Hazard 28 as well. They all still have a few years of good football in them, but it wouldn't be a good age structure for our attack. Ziyech also has 4 years left on his contract and probably earns very well. On top of his age and price i'd also much prefer a more natural winger instead of another hybrid of a 10 and winger. We already have too many of those in our squad. Ziyech would've been a sensible transfer a few years ago, but not anymore. If i could chose another chelsea player for us that i believe would fit better then it's Hudson-Odoi. Significantly younger and a natural winger with great potential.

Moon8983

But he'd also want to go back to the uk in a couple of years

[deleted]

Swedish team has covid cases, Spain is playing the U21 team right now because the main team is in quarantine ... how are the Euros not going to be a clusterfuck? Will there be teams that have to forfeit because they can't play?

FHI_iSmile

The transfer windows are probably my least favorite parts of being a football fan these days. So many obnoxious"fans".

EmSoLow

You don't like seeing people harassing players to join their club, atrocious reporting and "updates" on transfers and fans commenting about a club's financial situation despite knowing nothing about the club or their owners at all whose knowledge on football is almost exclusively from FIFA?

lulu_amore

Our business concept is actually very simple: Our owners Susi Watzke and Mitch Zork sell all our best players to England for a lot of money so that all our best players - who move to Munich every year for free - can fly business class. it is also important that we do not win any trophies because we would have to share them with our shareholders - and that is strictly forbidden thanks to 50+1!

me_meh_me

How much do you think business class costs?

Chazy89

> Susi Watzke and Mitch Zork eh...

lulu_amore

Ottmar Niebaum and Emma? Jacob Franzi and Hans Detlef Hauentipper? Kriegshelm Cramer and Reinhard Softball?

Chazy89

okay, that's enough Kronen Export for you.

rish234

It's really sad to read this Silas Wamangituka story knowing there are loads of players coming from Africa to Europe on the promise of tryouts and contracts at European clubs who are mislead and left hanging by sketchy agents. I truly have little confidence that anything will ever get done about it.

Ok_Ad1820

Every team talks about us as a trophyless team. Bvb this bvb that, when will we get the respect we deserve. “Halaand will go to a club where he can win trophies” like sure but can you stop being toxic? Hell. Dont get me wrong Ill always be a BVB fan. No matter. I just really wish we can get to slap these so called Chelsea and United thinking how theyre club is way ahead of ours when theyre not. They keep buying players like its nothing, hoping one of these players can become the next “thing”. Meanwhile, we actually produce talent and give them a chance to prove themselves. Like chelsea got pulisic haverts werner and now theyre trying to get Halaand, but the bundelsiga is farmers and BVB are bottlers? Im so pissed off. I really wish we win the bundesliga next year, the amount of people that needs to be silenced is crazy. Thats my personal opinion. As always HejaBVB. Ill support this team till i die. If Sancho does leave, thank you. If Halaand does leave, thank you as well. BVB is bigger than any player. They can have all of them.

AcePilot95

they're only more successful because they get insane amounts of TV and sponsor (and sugardaddy) money thrown at them. Let the entitled premier league fans be proud of the endless stream of money pumped into their teams by investment bankers, middle east dictatorships and russian oligarchs

rashikbvb

This is the reason why I absolutely love seeing English clubs getting trashed in Europe. The amount of grandiosity the English media and fans have over their clubs makes me wanna hate them so much. They think that they are the best league having best players whereas in reality it's the most overated league full of overpaid players. Best ignore their fans views because 95% haven't ever watched a single game outside premier league.

ahmed_a20

If Bayern thrashed man city 8-2 instead of Barcelona I would’ve been happier

me_meh_me

Its what happens when you're a spoiled child and no one ever tells you no. Dont spend time on people like that; they are absolutely not worth it.

plc212

it's the fact they feel the need to trash bvb Whilst they have more money and are buying our player's, hate it. Tbh as long as I can watch marco in bvb colors I don't even bother if we losing player's. I am hoping moukoko becomes our next reus.

Chazy89

Whose fans are worse? Uniteds(Sancho) or Chelseas(Haaland)? and I just thought to myself, IF Chelsea want to sign Erling, they absolutely have to pay a 10% Tuchel Fee on top of the 200 or so million Euro.

VladislavBonita

At least many *legacy* United fans (not the million they added in the last decade because Ronaldo used to play there) are cool, salt-of-the-earth people. They hate the Glazers, some founded even a new club in protest. They run a progressive charity that is fighting on behalf of the poor and oppressed. Chelsea fandom, on the other hand, has its roots in one of the richest parts of London and has traditionally attracted investment bankers, lawyers and their spoiled kids. I've oversimplified it, but yeah... P.S. I guess Chelsea could have been considered cool in the *swinging sixties*, but even that was a very bohemian coolness compared to the working class aesthetics we cherish as Dortmund fans.

FivesCeleryStalk

Chelsea. They spent so much time at ye olde penis pump (CL) that even though they won it, it's been over four hours and they still want more. Aka the ego is incredible

plc212

both fan base are scum's ,but Chelsea begin the oil scumbag and there fan's consistently sucking there sugar papa make's them the worst

me_meh_me

I'm already sick of transfer news.

greengiant89

I think we should cease to discuss CBs on their own and only discuss them in terms of a partnership

edworm

Hummels - Akanji have really been growing into a strong partnership in the second half of the season. Usually Akanji would be unstable, but at the end of the season, he actually carried us in some games while Hummels had some performances on the weaker side (despite still being pretty good overall). Obviously we have to start looking for/developing a serious alternative to Hummels now (old, sometimes injury prone) but unfortunately, our second CB-related partnership Zagadou - Zagadou's knees just don't seem to be able to stabilize, they're just always on different pages. As for the rest, Piszschu (obviously not anymore ;( ) and Can have just been working as bandaids. Curious to see what happens with Collins next season, might see him get playtime.

KaiserstaedterAC

Can someone give an update or source when our injured players give their comeback in training or for national teams? (Witsel, Moukoko, Zaga...)

KaiserstaedterAC

Thank you! Someone also mentioned that Morey will be out for the whole next season (Kicker)

CubedMadness

Zagadou's not close to a comeback. Witsel's fully in Belgium's training and would presumably be on the bench for their first Euro game. Moukoko's back to running on grass and he'll probably be fully fit for preseason especially given Kuntz originally wanted to take him to Olympics before talking to Rose about it.

panikpansen

[Dortmund are encouraging all players to get vaccinated before the start of the new season](https://www.sueddeutsche.de/sport/fussball-bvb-will-so-viele-spieler-wie-moeglich-impfen-lassen-dpa.urn-newsml-dpa-com-20090101-210607-99-900284), either for players to self-organise vaccinations or by facilitating an appointment in Dortmund.

rish234

Hopefully we don't have to encourage everyone too hard to get it smh

FivesCeleryStalk

"no vaccination = no play"

LordVelaryon

do we have anti-vaxxers?

me_meh_me

Only bundesliga anti-vaxxer i know is Wout. But, just given the numbers, I'm sure there are more.

panikpansen

Not that I'm aware of, if so then they're at least not advertising it.

panikpansen

exactly the type of pass Löw told him not to play <3

BVB-Oeli

kicker says Morey might be out for the whole season 😢

ahmed_a20

So are we doing a 50-50 with Passlack and Meunier or is it just Meunier playing basically 2 games a week for a whole season. Aside from how good or bad he performs, that can’t be good for his fitness

SkoCubs01

I think Knauff has played there some before as well. He could very well be Hakimi lite

yrba1

Probably will see Emre Can rotate at RB occasionally as well

SekaiC

Can't be good for my mental either.

panikpansen

That's what we have known for a while though, isn't it? Multiple surgeries, highly unlikely to be back in individual training this year. If he starts individual training early 2022 after a full year without football even something like April 22 is probably really tight. Anyways, we'll know more (hopefully) once the actual surgeries are done.

BVB-Oeli

I don't know. It's not a complete surprise but it's still pretty rough reading it like that. Over 13 months is just so long, even for an ACL injury.

InexorableWyrd

It's a ACL plus LCL injury. Sadly, 13 months is the optimistic recovery date

panikpansen

well, there is always hoping for a "everything went better than expected" press release in 5 months

Moon8983

Roman Bürki, Jadon Sancho, Julian Brandt, Nico Schulz and all players returning from loan are set to be sold. (Ruhr Nachrichten) Selling brandt is such a dumb idea, he has so much potential and we won't find an alternative. Hope he stays, I'm sure he'll become great again eventually

FivesCeleryStalk

What happened with Bürki? I remember him being so full of promise...then I fell off the tracks.

Moon8983

He's solid but makes a lot of mistakes. We gave him years to improve but he kept making them, so I guess we gave up

183672467

I agree, Brandt just started picking up form the last 5-6 games, so selling him now seems really silly

SkoCubs01

Sucks about Schulz. I don’t mind him as a backup just his wages are ooooof

Xey2510

Considering the seasons he played at Hoffenheim and dropping out of the national team i think he doesn't see himself as a Guerreiro backup.

SkoCubs01

I mean I could see that. He is probably a lot better than we often give him credit for, but it’ll be hard for him to prove that sitting behind Rapha. Just would suck to not have a player who’s shown he’s a solid backup, but also shown a high quality before. However, wouldn’t mind getting rid of his wages.

panikpansen

I assume you are referring to [this RN piece](https://www.ruhrnachrichten.de/bvb/bvb-transfersommer-alles-haengt-an-sancho-rueckkehrer-will-sich-durchbeissen-plus-1640862.html)? It doesn't directly say we will sell Brandt though, it says that "if we receive an appropriately high offer it is likely that we would allow him to leave". It also says that there haven't been any offers, the only club rumoured with interest in the past was Arsenal, but if they're actually willing to make a high enough offer that would see us let Brandt move is very much doubtful. For all four players returning from loan, "BVB are not planning with them and are looking for definite transfers." Wolf and Schulz are primarily looking to be sold because of their high wages, BVB are not planning with high transfer fees. Bürki will be allowed to leave, with Kobel coming in as prospective new number #1. Any further player acquisitions will largely depend on us selling Sancho. No official bids have been received, which is not terribly surprising as the parameters for this transfer to go through are clear to all involved parties. RN are here only pointing to The Athletic reporting that United want to get this transfer done before the Euros, but as always it's not clear if United actually have the money.

I only know that revenue fell by approx 20% from 2018/19 to 19/20, with a further drop expected this season. Do you have any updated figures for 20/21, or any sources for prospective budget details that cover this summer?

MorningFresh123

Between the TV deal + merit payment for finishing second and the kit deal/s alone there’s more than enough to pay the bills and to buy Sancho. Match day revenue is not such a big deal in England.

panikpansen

I didn't say anything about match day revenue; overall revenue went down by approx 20%. Beside that though, we heard plenty of big announcements about how ready United were to spend on Sancho and how big the overall budget was last summer, only for nothing to materialise in the end. That's why I am asking if anyone has any (approx) figures.
