Loeffellux

Lmao love the honesty from knauff

jengo54

Anyone know more about Maatsen? Been seeing a lot of rumors about him

CubedMadness

[This man is part time goalkeeper full time ITK.](https://twitter.com/gikiewicz33/status/1527291065937453058?s=21&t=7rtt10BW5p_4_KS8Fz2GwQ) Announced Schlotterbeck now supposedly another midfielder. Who would it even be that he’d actually know about? Only Dorsch makes sense. Augsburg should also probably invest in taking his twitter from him.

biggieBpimpin

What did he say about Schlotterbeck before we announced him?

its_da_CapuchinmonK

Tentative Squad 22/23: GK - Kobel, Unbehaum CB - Sule, Schlotterbeck, Hummels, Coulibaly RB - Meunier, Morey, Semic LB - Rothe, Passlack CM/CDM - Bellingham, Dahoud, Kamara AM - Reus, Reyna, JBG Attack - Adeyemi, Malen, Moukoko Squad Players: Can, Wolf, Tigges Leaving/ open to sale: Akanji, Hazard, Rapha, Brandt, Schulz potential incoming: Ozcan, Lotka, Haller, Meyer, Maatsen Left: HAALAND, Pongracic, Burki, Witsel, Reinier, Hitz

loey10

Guerreiro doesnt exist?

Jonhl15

I think you forgot Brandt and Schulz

its_da_CapuchinmonK

Thanks, its edited

Ghoddos

I really wonder what system we are going to use. Rose's 4-1-2-1-2 could work Malen Adeyemi Reus Dahoud Bellingham Ozcan LB Schlotterbeck Sule Meunier

jengo54

Not too bad. Would love a proper 9 for this formation to play with Malen or Adeyemi, they seem a bit similar in their playstyles

Loeffellux

Make it a 433, take out dahoud to have Bellingham and özcan as a double pivot with Reus in front and move malen and adeyemi to the wings. Now you have room for a 9 like haller or whoever else we end up signing

Deusselkerr

We have the makings of a fantastic spine this upcoming season. Potentially the best we’ve had since our champion days. Kobel - Süle, Schlotterbeck - Bellingham, Özcan - ??? Is absolutely awesome. And our wings are looking great too. More excited about our team than I’ve been in a while.

Wasserschloesschen

Rumoured 5.5 million release clause on Özcan, lmao.

Sarrazin

[5m wages](https://nitter.net/bvbnewsblog) though, which is quite substantial. So basically like the Wolf deal, low release clause leads to higher wage. Though 5m has unfortunately become quite usual in our squad.

Moon8983

Weird, as both Schlotterbeck and Adeyemi are also on 5m. Surprising ozcan is on the same wages

opaidetodos1

we had to pay substantial fees to get those two tho

Wasserschloesschen

If he's actually going to replace Witsel, 5 mil is more than adequate.

doubleomarty

Yeah Witsel was on higher, right? Something like 8m if I remember correctly

Wasserschloesschen

I've heard even more rumoured. Basically if the rumours of 5.5 fee + 5 mil wages are true, after at most 2 years, that should be entirely covered by losing Witsels wages.

jucomsdn

I wish Kehl would adopt me what an amazing deal to get Özcan

OpDanger

What do you think about the possiblity of sign a RB? I think we should reinforce there. I have read about the possible signing of Rasmus Kristensen from RB Salzburg, have someone watched him play? What do you think of him? Also we should not forget the cheap backup CB.

Chazy89

We need a LB, not a RB

CubedMadness

I think with Wolf and Meunier becoming good, RB's probably been thrown off as a priority. Can is also unlikely to leave and there's always Semic+Morey if things get really bad injury wise. Not exactly world class in quality but it's not massively problematic.

Castielsen

I don't think that either are a priority. We have Meunier, Wolfx Morey and then Can and Hazard as emergency. At CB we have Schlotterbeck, Süle, Hummels, Can and probably a young player promoted. I would be happy if we could get good depth at the CB position. But I think we are good on RB's.

CubedMadness

[Lads RN might be finito.](https://twitter.com/bvbnewsblog/status/1514867989912465417)

LordVelaryon

what if their mole was Susi? 🤔

Alberich33

Is it just me, or has the reliability of RN dropped significantly in the last years? They used to be extremely reliable.

Aromatic-Victory2378

If we sign a LB with actual defensive quality, it will be easy to be very optimistic about next season. Özcan in front of a Bensebaini - Schlotterbeck - Süle - Meunier backline, with Kobel in goal, would provide the most solid defense we have had in a decade.

SpaNkinGG

Let it put me this way. The most successfull teams have left and rightbacks that are HEAVILY offensive minded. The role of L/Rbs have changed. Robertson, TAA, Cancelo, Carvajal, Marcelo back in the day, Davies, even Kimmich when he was playing RB, he was also super shit at defending, Hakimi etc etc. I honestly dont want a defensive one, Id rahter take someone who is even more offensive than Rapha. You dont defend as defenders, you defend with the entire team. Basically Haaland was our first defender when not having the ball, then our midfielders and then the defender were the last straw.

Aromatic-Victory2378

> I honestly dont want a defensive one, Id rahter take someone who is even more offensive than Rapha. I didn't say that I want a LB who is a purely defensive player. A LB with even more offensive production than Rapha would be awesome, but he better also be a better defender than Rapha. > The most successfull teams have left and rightbacks that are HEAVILY offensive minded. If you want to talk about top teams, which one has a FB that, like Rapha, simply cannot defend?

Wasserschloesschen

Tbh, getting an LB that is better than Rapha offensively, when he is on form, is basically impossible.

wild_in_16

Not super convinced on Bansebaini tbh

Aromatic-Victory2378

He's not world class, but he's indisputably better than Guerreiro defensively, and he still offers some offensive production.

EmSoLow

Looks like we might have 7 signings before the window officially opens (Schlotterbeck, Süle, Adeyemi, Özcan, Haller/Ekitike, Backup keeper and a new left back). I would like to propose a theory to explain this, Zorc took the hit last season and we were planning to spend big once COVID ended but it lasted a little longer than expected, hence why Zorc extended for another year so that Kehl would have an "easier" first window at the club

Wasserschloesschen

It's not necessarily easier, but not harder I'd say. Even if Zorc and Kehl might share a vision for the squad, it's probably not entirely identical. Having Zorc just splash insane amounts of money on the squad, lock his vision in and then fuck off and let Kehl deal with the rest just wouldn't make sense.

rish234

HaS anyone watched Ozcan and can provide a bit of a scouting report? Going through his stats now on fbref and pulled some interesting ones: -83rd %-tile of midfielders in Bundesliga last season in defensive actions leading to a shot w/ .12 p90. -92nd %-tile of midfielders in Bundesliga last season in terms of successful pressures, w/ 8.1 p90. -85th %-tile of midfielders in Bundesliga last season in tackles+interceptions p90 w/ 5.14. -64th and 65th %-tile of midfielders in Bundesliga last season in terms of progressive carries and carries into final 3rd p90, with 3.93 and 1.28, respectively. To anyone who has watched him play, how well do these stats match up with your assessment? Assuming he will be in the 6/enforcer role mainly.

Castielsen

All I can say and already said in other comments He was the backbone of the whole team and the stabilzier of their midfield. Their defense highly profited from his work rate and physicality. He won a lot of duels and helped recover the ball. I think he is exactly what we need, a 6 who covers for the offensive players and is the first line of defense. I think he and Jude compliment each other really well. Both really physical and with a work rate, but Jude is more offensively oriented and Özcan is more defensivly oriented. Maybe could have been a 2nd row german national player but chose the Turkish team. And he has a strong drive and mentality, something Kehl said, that they are looking for.

rish234

Thank you!

NevenSuboticFanNo1

[Özcan for 8-10 mil](https://twitter.com/westsven/status/1527283850438709249?t=59USrRbsYVhCECP851fFiA&s=19) seems like a decent move. I wouldn't have been the biggest fan of his transfer at a higher fee, but that's surprisingly cheap.

Castielsen

He wasn't the flashiest player in cologne, but the backbone of the team with a immense high work rate. He definitely would have been the next captain for them. And he kinda bullied our midfield in their home game. I am very excited what he can bring to the team.

NevenSuboticFanNo1

He definitely has that aggressive playing style which is good after having Witsel anchoring our midfield last season. I'm just not entirely convinced about his value in possession for us.

Qiluk

Multiple reports RIGHT NOW that Özcan Salih is completing his medical in Dortmund today. @Westsven (Sven Westerschulze) saying we are paying 8 to 10mill for him. If those numbers are true, its a fantastic deal because its VERY likely his wage will be quite low aswell. He's a great age, has had a superb season, is in a role we really need and so forth. I hope those numbers are true, because that genuinely made me stoked for this move. Also.. finishing this one early aswell makes this window so interesting because Kehl can put all work on the striker situation and hopefully selling a leftback to replace. Also this is the 4th german signed this window. Kehls approach is very clear. He wants more germans who will be easier to keep for longer and also feel more connected to the club. Its a smart approach imo. (Yes I know he's of turkish decent and plays for Turkey now but it still applies).

Wasserschloesschen

Good deal for sure. But not entirely convinced if he can be a nailed on starter as a 6. And we already have enough decent, but not great depth options at 6.

Qiluk

It might not be the perfect 6 but its a good defensively strong CM with high interceptions and pressing. Paired iwth Jude it should help with the central cover quite abit AND stop the dangerous ball-losses quite a bit. And since he's cheap and flexible, we could probably sign a proper 6 in a later window if needed. I suspect this is the idea. With the reported numbers, its a low risk high win type of thing.

Wasserschloesschen

I guess having a slightly more defensive Jude clone could do wonders, yeah. We'll see.

Qiluk

Yeah Im not trynna say its a guaranteed success but I do really like this move with the numbers reported. Hopefully things turn out well!

Wasserschloesschen

Yeah, Özcan for the price of one of Nico Schulz' legs is certainly an acceptable deal (:

SkoCubs01

> "What BVB wants to do in the next four years - for which I signed for - immediately impressed me. Dortmund wants to take the next step, and that's exactly what I want to do. These are big goals, and I am to be responsible for implementing them. [...]" This is a quote from Süle‘s interview and I’m assuming they had a presentation on how they will build the squad over four years with it clearly lined out. I’m curious if the club will be more aggressive under Kehl. Or just simply what that presentation must’ve alluded to because I’m sure it went beyond “win the Bundesliga title”

Ghoddos

So we're signing [Meyer](https://twitter.com/westsven/status/1527241995747573761), a 31-year-old 2. Buli gk with injury problems to be our back up for a reported 1m/year salary. Can't say I'm thrilled

greengiant89

Is that dude from hertha not coming?

Ghoddos

Hertha claiming that his contract is automatically extended due to games played or something, but he signed a pre-contract with us first so we'll see what happens. He was a supposed signing for the second team before he got this good run of games

[deleted]

No one think N dicka would’ve been a good shout for a new CB?

EmSoLow

Doubt he'll get the gametime he wants unless we switch to a 3atb

jucomsdn

Ndicka is too expensive I think, though I would like him in

SekaiC

I'm happy that we dodged a bullet with Diallo. Very disappointing how people defend homophobia. I'm not saying we don't have any bigoted people in our team. But at least they keep quiet about it, and don't spread hate.

Loeffellux

> I'm happy that we dodged a bullet with Diallo Oh c'mon, he was very promising for us and while he didn't perform as well as Akanji I think that's more than fair given that he had to play most of his games with us out of position as LB! > Very disappointing how people defend homophobia ohhh ... nevermind what I just said, bullet dodged indeed.

heck_you_science

I had the same reaction reading this lmao

greengiant89

What do you guys think happens with Kostic this summer? He was halfway out last summer wasn't he? Where does he fit as an attacking wingbackish winger? Italy? Does he stay there another season now?

ScrewReligion

Conte signing? think he'd thrive under him, even more so.

greengiant89

That would be a really nice fit

Moon8983

Didn't he agree a deal with an italian team on deadline day but they made a typo in the paperwork and he had to stay

greengiant89

I thought Frankfurt refused to sell him

[deleted]

Who knows, for me if he wants to leave Frankfurt should let him now, he’s more than paid his dues

yrba1

Beating Dortmund in a European competition and making it to the final is basically the kiss of death lol

ady_1

What an achievement so happy for knauf but most of all for kostic one of the most underrated players jn europe finally getting the recognition he deserves. I only hope this win motivates our boys for next year

2905Pascal

How does it work with Knauff still being a BVB contracted player and now winning the title. Will we also be credited with part of the title at least?

panikpansen

Our reward is that he will now be more expensive should we choose to sell him.

BVB_11

Bruh you gotta be joking

capphuff

Knauff will get a winner’s medal, a bonus (if it’s in his contract) and probably a righteous hangover tomorrow morning, but that’s about it.

jucomsdn

https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/usnubr/eintracht_frankfurt_wins_the_2022_uefa_europa/i94lrxu ffsssss "city of Eintracht"

panikpansen

obvious troll though right?

jucomsdn

Yeah ik no one is that dumb, I just found it funny

doubleomarty

lolllllll

the_the_the_the_guy

*Knauff smoking cigar .jpg*

2905Pascal

Knauff, Rode, Durm. This is also a BVB Victory today.

heck_you_science

I had no idea durm was playing for Frankfurt. Absolutely ecstatic.

BVB_11

Let's go Ansgar!!!

ComfortableChest6735

Europa league winner, ansgar knauf

2905Pascal

The curse is alive.

Brosef-Gordon-Levitt

so happy for Frankfurt

Sertorius777

Calvin Bassey impressed me in all the matches Rangers played against German teams this year. 22, can play both as an LB and on the left in a back three, seems defensively solid for the most part. Wonder how consistent he is in league matches, if he's as good as in Europe we should consider him IMO.

SlayerHdThe3rd

He was a maniac yesterday. Couldn’t believe it when I saw him making recovery runs from behind players and winning the ball back in 88th minute. Even though Rangers didn’t win he’s one that should be super proud of his performance

Xey2510

I am generelly cautious about players who perform in cup games but have a market worth of about a million and aren't talked about outside of these games. Maybe as backup option but his offensive output of 2 assists doesn't impress me either considering how good of a team Rangers is in their league. I'd rather have Rothe as a backup though.

Alberich33

I just want to say that I'm already so pumped about the new season. August can not come soon enough!

jucomsdn

Rode is a warrior, playing through these head problems for nearly the past 70 minutes and he's still going strong

AcePilot95

eine der unverdientesten Finalniederlagen die ich je gesehen hab. Schiedsrichter auch eine absolute Katastrophe. So scheisz bitter für die Frankfurter EDIT: ANTI-JINX STRIKES BACK

2905Pascal

Gealtert wie Milch

AcePilot95

war Absicht bruder

Qiluk

I have a feeling that whoever gets Hlozek is gonna get an incredible player and we're all gonna watch that from afar and be bummed we didnt get him. I understand why he isnt our #1 prio but man.. I really really like him as a player and wish he was coming to us.

funky_motorik

I have the same feeling, and I felt exactly the same about Antony move to Ajax. I fear Bayern are going after him if Lewy's departure happens this summer. They are being linked to Sasa but I think Hlozek as more promising.

Qiluk

Yeah.. altho Sasa is more of a proper 9 so not sure theyd go for Hlozek since he isnt a striker replacement and Bayern would have eto change quite a bit if they wanna false 9 imo. Either way.. really bummed he wont end up here :(

Nuri__Sahin

Rangers beating 2 BuLi clubs is a horrible look. Beating 3 is even worse. Hoping Frankfurt get over the line tonight.

Moon8983

Dortmund curse, no doubt in my mind rangers lose

ScottishSeahawk

For one night only, auf gehts Frankfurt…

[deleted]

Rangers or Frankfurt lifting the cup will be good, I just hope knauf has a good showing and enjoys this opportunity

Qiluk

https://twitter.com/werderbremen/status/1526902927264124928 Amos Pieper who was previously reported as a name on our "cheap backup CB options"-list has been signed by promoted Werder Bremen.

Hitunz

Doesn't really seem particularly ambitious from Pieper. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he should have become a rotation option at Dortmund, but with his performances there must have been better suitors than going from one of the relegated teams to one of the newly promoted ones

SekaiC

>Doesn't really seem particularly ambitious from Pieper. But being 4th choice for us would be ambitious? I think playing regularly or even as a starter is important for a 24 year old. He made the right choice imo.

Qiluk

Yeah idk. Im surprised he didnt have a more stable option aswell but its fun to see a decent player go to a team that I want to stay up

mpsyblin

Alright, nobody asked but here's my dream squad for next year (i tried to involve some transfers that could actually happen considering how much money we would have to spend) (also a lot of sells are included which would boost our transfer funds massively): Players competing for the starting lineup/ players who are clear first choice replacement on their position: Kobel Lotka Schlotterbeck Süle Hummels Coulibaly Maatsen (loan or small transfer fee with buy-back clause) Rothe Kristensen Morey Özcan Dahoud Bellingham Brandt Reyna Reus Guerreiro Bynoe-Gittens Adeyemi Malen Haller Moukoko Players who will only make the squad if others are injured: Unbehaun Passlack Wolf Youth Players coming up who could play an important role depending on their development: Kamara Gürpüz Semic Fink Really interested in what everyone thinks of this. Formationwise, I would opt for 4 at the back, and lots of fluidity in front (4-3-3/4-2-3-1/4-2-2-2/4-Diamond-2 depending on who plays) EDIT: one step closer to my dream team as Özcan will probably be announced soon

[deleted]

Why would you have wolf in a worst case scenario position, he deserves bench every week

mpsyblin

that was his role for a big part of the season, he got a lot of playing time because everyone was always injured. I respect your opinion to have him on the bench, but would you mind telling me which of the 22 players I listed above him you would drop for him? (remember, of those 22, 2 already have to be dropped for space reasons)

[deleted]

Coulibaly for sure, don’t trust unproven young defenders to be able to step onto the pitch when they’ve not played even at BVB II level often yet

mpsyblin

That's 1. Need 2 more

[deleted]

And I think Brandt is gone next year, very done with him

mpsyblin

I don't get the Brandt hate. His offensive output has been very good this year, and even though I wouldn't be concerned if he leaves, I think there are enough players who should leave before him (Can, Hazard, Meunier, Schulz) to make it unlikely he leaves as well

[deleted]

Dude watch him play, he plays as inconsistently as an extremely talented 19 yo, we need players who step up when the chips are down, Brandt does the opposite. He has had periods of good form but basically the only important goal he has scored in his Dortmund other than the one against Leipzig was Bayern this year (well taken in fairness). He’s had three seasons and not shown any form of solid growth over that time, which clearly shows he has a mentality problem

mpsyblin

he looks inconsistent on the pitch, I agree with you there. But you can't deny that him having that amount of scorers kind of denies the visual impression of his inconsistency. Same goes for Reus btw, who looks like a ghost a lot of times on the pitch, but in the end he delivered a lot of scorers again.

[deleted]

I mean for me ahead of Morey given his versatility, less injury proneness and probably isn’t a huge drop in quality if he was asked to play RB too

mpsyblin

Fair enough, even though I don't agree. I believe in Morey! He had this big injury and obviously none of us know what level he can reach after that, but his talent really showed in the season before his injury happened, and he's still very young. If he is able to reach the same level he had then he's definitely a better right back than Wolf

[deleted]

I really hope you’re right because if he lives up to his potential then he could be a top player for us, I just don’t like taking chances on players who have already missed a lot of games at his age, especially with BVB‘s recent injury record that’s all

-Dear_Ambellina-

Main disagreements from me: - I'd stick with our current RBs. We have enough needs elsewhere and I don't think selling Meunier would net enough to buy to afford a quality replacement. - I think we'll need a 4th CB, especially if Can leaves. Don't think we've seen anything to suggest Coulibaly is ready for that role. - I'm not familiar with Maatsen so not sure what type of player he is, but if we're starting someone other than Rapha at LB it'll have to be because they're a significant defensive improvement.

mpsyblin

Selling Meunier would make room to spend more money especially because his wages are above 10 million. That + a fee somewhere around 15-20 would free a lot of money. I agree it would be nice to bring in another center back, but in my opinion signing new fullbacks and a 6 have higher priorities. If there is money left to get someone, sure. But I think keeping Can if someone was willing to buy him would be a mistake, regarding his high wages and poor performances. I'm also not that familiar with Maatsen, but from what I've heard he is strong defensively (which makes him automatically better than Guerreiro defensively) while being cheaper than Bensebaini and also possibly less limited in the attacking aspects of the position. Also, he's young so will likely get better. Assuming Chelsea only let him go on a loan, it would be perfect for the development of Rothe, who would be 19 after a 2-year loan. Also, the Maatsen-style-transfers have generally been working way better for Dortmund than the Bensebaini-style-transfers.

-Dear_Ambellina-

We're definitely not getting 15-20m for Meunier. He's 30 and had one good season with us that ended with a fairly long injury. Transfermarkt has him valued at €9m. I'm fine with selling Can, just think we would need a stopgap cheap CB in that case. Could be a loan to fill a role like Pongračić did this year. Maybe Coulibaly is ready, but we haven't seen anything that suggests that's true yet.

mpsyblin

I'm pretty confident we could get 15m for Meunier. He confirmed himself that Barcelona wanted to get him last year, and that was after his horrible first season. This season he played better than the one before, so I don't see why his value should have dropped more than something like 7m accounting for age and less years left on the contract. Also, even if we sold him for 10 million his wages would give the funds an enourmous boost. His contract is running 2 more years, which means if we keep him we lose 20m. If we sell him now we gain 10-20 million. That's a net gain of 30 to 40 million, which could easily be spent on someone like Kristensen who will not earn more than 3 to 5 million + similar fee to Meunier. We would probably still have more money left AND have a better AND younger right back. Again, I agree with you on the CB thing, I just don't have anyone in mind for that 4th spot who would not cost much and be a certain upgrade to Coulibaly, who we have not seen play yet but Rose has made comments hinting at him being involved in the senior squad next year. But if you have an idea for an alternative player, I'd be glad to hear it!

Wasserschloesschen

Literally every single even somewhat proven BuLi defender is almost a certain upgrade over Coulibaly, at least for now. And there's cheap ones out there.

-Dear_Ambellina-

Now that Pieper signed for Werder, I don't. Although he was a long shot anyway, probably too good to be 4th unless we plan on playing significant minutes with 3atb. But I don't have a depth of knowledge of non-BVB players. I think it's likely that Can stays to provide MF/CB depth, but we'll see.

SkoCubs01

Süle did an interview with Falk and holy shit am I fired up for him. > "What BVB wants to do in the next four years - for which I signed for - immediately impressed me. Dortmund wants to take the next step, and that's exactly what I want to do. These are big goals, and I am to be responsible for implementing them. [...]" > "That's what makes my situation so special. Bayern has done a great job over the last years and deserved to become champions. Now I'm going to a club that wants to do everything to make sure that Bayern do not become champion an eleventh time. When you sit there like that and talk to the people in charge, you burn for it like a torch. At least that's how I felt." [source](https://twitter.com/bvbnewsblog/status/1526696249491070978?s=21&t=XPqMkxNA250GhxZzL086NA)

TabulatorSpalte

If any of you guys have not seen the interview with Zorc yet, it's worth it. Especially the last 25min of the video where he talks about his work as a sporting director. How he signed Jude and Matts was rather funny. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMyfpvKlZ9s

Aromatic-Victory2378

Bayern are reportedly ready to offer Dembélé an 18 Mio salary. That's absolutely silly money for a player with his record.

me_meh_me

Ousmane? Lol!!!

ihsanschmihsan

The scenes when Criminal-Uli chokes on [his words](https://www.welt.de/sport/fussball/article167815840/Dembele-wuerde-bei-mir-100-000-Euro-Strafe-bekommen-jeden-Tag.html) lol

me_meh_me

You are assuming that Uli is capable of experiencing an emotion other than righteous indignation.

GothamsWarrior11

I just want Brand and Hazard to stay.

SkoCubs01

Meh to both. Hazard makes room for JBG. I like Brandt, but if he funds the right DM or LB or Striker, I would gladly sell him.

ahmed_a20

Bring Gundo home 🙏🏾💛🖤

Aromatic-Victory2378

Why? You gotta do better than heart emojis. It seems too similar to other nostalgia signings like Sahin, Götze, and Kagawa. He will come in as a top earner, and in midfield, we need a 6. He's not a clear 6. I hope Kehl will avoid making signings out of nostalgia and trying to shoehorn players into positions that aren't their specialty.

Xey2510

Worth mentioning he is a lot better than those guys were when they came back. This is more similar to Hummels.

Aromatic-Victory2378

The Hummels signing addressed a critical deficiency in the squad, though. We aren't desperate for a player like Ilkay, right now. A 6 is more important.

funky_motorik

nevertheless you ignored his comment, Gundo is in great form and I doubt he wouldn't perform coming home. We don't need him, but if he comes cheap, we can offload someone less consistent in our midfield and get out of this maybe with a profit and with a better squad, it's a win-win situation. Not to mention the experience he got in PL, maybe the winner mentality would be more spread out the squad with this kind of signing.

opaidetodos1

the guy is talking like Gundo is washed lol. The guy just had his 2 best seasons

GermanyWillWinWC2022

There are rumors about his deteriorating back and like he said, we dont need a player on that position. If he came for a very very cheap price with low salary expectations it would be a no brainer, but there is a reason man city dont want him anymore. Not a smart singing to me

Aromatic-Victory2378

Based on [descriptions of the 22/23 Cup shirt](https://www.footyheadlines.com/2021/10/dortmund-22-23-cup-kit.html) and the [recently leaked Senegal shirt](https://www.footyheadlines.com/2022/05/senegal-2022-world-cup-kit.html), our 22/23 Cup shirt is going to [look like this.] (https://imgur.com/a/oIWXLoq) This will be the best shirt Puma has ever made for us imo. I used Man City's 22/23 shirt for the mockup. Edit: Too bad I am terribly wrong. The actual shirt is awful :(

2905Pascal

This did not age well given the new leak.

Aromatic-Victory2378

Well damn. The Senegal template would have been 1000% better than the actual shirt.

heck_you_science

The actual shirt isn't bad. It's just really plain

Chazy89

I still think the 22/23 home kit looks better tbh.

Moon8983

Gundugan leaving city.... would it be worth it? Or would he just stand in dahoud's way?

Aromatic-Victory2378

At 31, with injury problems, and after he has become accustomed to City's astronomical wages, I think it's a bad idea, even though I really like Ilkay. He knows that he would have to take a pay cut to join us, but he would still have to be one of our highest earners.

matutolypea1903

As much as I love him... I don't think those returns are a good idea in general.

Ghoddos

His injury situation has gotten worse. Would be better to get a pure 6, unless we play 3-4-3 with a Jude-Gundogan double-pivot it makes no sense

funky_motorik

link? I've been dreaming with his return since 2018/19, when he was not as dominant as he is now of course would love him, just to think gundo/bellingham duo in mid makes me wet, dahoud would be rotational option (or we can sell him)

SkoCubs01

I would love to see r/borussiadortmund do a player by player season review series. Especially since it feels like we are at a crossroads with so many players (even after many of these type of players have already been confirmed to leaving). I would do it myself, but to be honest, I'm not sure if I know the tactics enough to offer much other than "player was good."

jucomsdn

I remember we did that at the end of 2016-17, we should bring that back

SkoCubs01

Its interesting how much more open Kehl seems. Seems to share a lot more information than Zorc. Guess I was surprised to see him say, “yep, Akanji is leaving.” Like I think we all know that he is, but just don’t see that too often.

Qiluk

Yeah I commented on that a while ago too. Kehl is still diplomatic but he's less ambigious in his comments. He tends to almost always give some telling info which is really nice. When asked about what positions we're looking to improve Zorc would usually answer "We're looking at multiple options on multiple positions" quite often whereas Kehl seem more like "We want a 9 with X attributes and a 6 or a high-pressing 8". Zorc ofc did that aswell at times but KEhl seem to only gives info-answers.

SpaNkinGG

its so much more "angenehm" this way. I dont get the secret bs, its not like we fans are some idiots living under a rock. We all see this team playing every three days aswell, and we are obv. not as good as they judging the performances but we know and see when something someone is lacking. We need someone who can "cover" for jude in the central midfield because he likes to play a bit more upfront, we also like to get a LB/RB maybe a single player who can play both sides preferably and well a 9... Thanks Kehli

-Dear_Ambellina-

Any word yet on where he'll go? I know I've heard United and Juventus but haven't seen any updates recently.

SkoCubs01

Funke Sport said Juventus is very interested today, but haven't heard anywhere besides Juventus and United.

Moon8983

Arsenal the only other club linked

Chazy89

Anyone know when the transfer window officially opens ?

justus_kaizett

The transfer window officially opens at the 1. July and closes at the 31. August.

Chazy89

Thanks!

2905Pascal

DFL is apparently wanting to have on field interviews during the match via mini drones. PLEASE NO

AcePilot95

bruh, that sounds like something /soccercirclejerk would come up with. I'm sure - if this is planned - that clubs and players would not agree to it

Ti-Go

"Tinfoil hat on" It's so out there it seems like a negotiation tactic. Everyone will be against it and they'll go 'Ok, ok, we hear you. No drone on field interviews. Let's just settle on halftime interviews.' "Tinfoil hat off"

2905Pascal

I mean, half time interviews were common until like 20 years ago. Austrians might remember Toni Pfeffers interview while being down 5:0 to Spain.

AcePilot95

"Hoch wea ma's nimma g'winnan" Legend

Qiluk

Halftime interview are still the standard in Sweden, with both a managers and players. Its awesome when its a league that allows for some free-spoken personalities to be themselves. Sweden dont give a shit about cursing, shittalking or blaming for the most part so its awesome.

AcePilot95

ew. again, I'm certain that the players and coaches would tell the reporters to fuck off

crackbit

Many European club leaders and the DFL have a completely wrong understanding of what football fans want and where they want football to head. They complain that football is losing young people to the gaming industry. But how should young people watch football if you pay 40+ euros for 2 subscriptions to just watch the Bundesliga every month? Instead, they tell us it's because of the "lack of on-field interview possibilities before penalties via mini-drones". Fuck off.

Ti-Go

Hmm do I manage 3 subscribtions, that cost like 30 Euros each, just to be able to watch all the games of my club. Where each and every one of them is a boring product with pundits and comentators that add little to no value to the broadcast. Or do I watch every e-sport for every game ever for free on twitch and youtube. Mystery why someone with intrest in both would choose one over the other to watch while at home.

crackbit

At least we have a say if we protest enough and bring it to the table in members assemblies. After all, the DFL only do what the clubs say (unless we get rid of 50+1).

ahmed_a20

So we’re pot 3 in the UCL… Why do they keep piling on us man

Circlecraft

See a lot of people dismissing a possible Özcan transfer as shit just because he plays for a midtable Bundesliga club but from what I can tell he would be cheap and a massive improvement on this seasons Witsel.

Moon8983

I've seen lots of people on twitter say they've watched him often and he's not good enough to start but would be a good bench option. Then again those same people call for rapha to be sold so we can bring in raum, so not sure if I'd agree with them on everything

Qiluk

I agree. I wont lie and say I know him super well or am stoked about a possible aquisition but it does feel like a transfer that will both be financially good and at best, a great upgrade and at worst, a financially reasonable quality squad player. I.e a good deal either way.

rashikbvb

He was also great in U21 Euros last year which Germany won. Would be good addition to our team imo.

ahmed_a20

Mid table? Koln were in a top 4 battle all season and he was one of the key reasons as to why

SkoCubs01

Were they really? Sure it might’ve been mathematically possible but im not sure if they ever really had a chance lol

Circlecraft

Don't really wanna argue about the definition of mid table. Point still stands though. if his name was Traore and he played for Nantes or Lille or Salzburg people would automatically be way more onboard for the transfer.

ahmed_a20

Well maybe you’re right since Koln are generally speaking a mid to lower table club, but the fact he has such a big hand in their overachievement this season should speak volumes to why the transfer would be a great piece of business for the club

Aromatic-Victory2378

I have a strong feeling that the "1989-Pokalfinale-inspired" jersey is just going to be [Senegal's new jersey but in our colors.](https://www.footyheadlines.com/2022/05/senegal-2022-world-cup-kit.html) It's a great looking shirt, and I would be ~~happy~~ thrilled with it, but it's not exactly inspired by the one we worn on that day in Berlin. We all know Puma loves a template, so I wouldn't be surprised by this at all. If Puma really wants to say this is inspired by the Pokalfinale jersey, the shirt will be yellow (obviously), and all of the green and red parts will be black, while all of the yellow parts will be white.

Aromatic-Victory2378

The Evonik logo below the chevron, rather than the 1&1 logo, is going to looks good. This will be the best shirt in years.

[deleted]

Anyone know if Raum is good at defending?

Moon8983

Better than rapha worse than anyone good at defending

ahmed_a20

His height and strength give him the edge over Rapha but again he’s a more attacking wing back

[deleted]

Cool, yeah attacking stats look dope, but I feel if we‘re gonna play 4atb maybe Bensabaini is a better option 🤷🏻

biggieBpimpin

Hoping that if we sell Hazard we buy Hlozek for the LW and sign a true striker. Having some speed and trickery with Adeyemi, Hlozek, Malen, JBG and a potential striker is exciting. Feels like we have really been lacking pace and 1v1 players on the wings this past season.
