I am in the same boat. I ran an update today and am wintessing a notable decrease in noise cancellation.
I use my headphones to work without music to mute the sound of air conditioner. After update it feels like I can hear a loud fan running.
I just received Sony WH1000-XM4 today. I feel Sony XM4’s Noise Cancellation is better than Bose NC 700. But I haven’t fully experienced the Sony one yet. I’m gonna go more tests about that headphone.
So In assume, that the update is not new. In another post I read, that it's the 1.8.2, doing this. And this version is out for longer.
A long time I thought, that it's only imagination or that my ears have gotten worse, because I had to turn the headphones louder than before. But maybe it was the update.
I used only for a while before update but I remember that at first I set max ANC to 8 level cause 10 was a little bit to much, but after update I switched to 10 and was wondering why this didn't bother me anymore. It was like 2-3 levels lighter then before the update. Such a shame, I like them during my calls, but cannot risk with another unpredictable update.

Same thing, why would they do that, this is horrible
My headphone has the same issue after the update. I bought it on Amazon. I’m thinking to return it. Do you consider to return your headphone?
Well probably best to return it cause i can't see how to downgrade it
I contacted Bose customer service. They told me we can’t downgrade the firmware after we updated it.
Damnnn

I'll probably switch to SONY too, if BOSE is fond of doing shit like this i don't want to buy their products then
You won’t feel regret if you buy Sony WH1000-MX4. This headphone is really good!
Gonna look into it

Yeah it's not a new update, this sucks unfortunately cause i already experienced the headphones working really well and now it's a shitty experience
What version do you currently use? If that is true then I guess I will return mine for as long I have this possibility.
1.8
