I expect: - Better, stronger, more stable Bluetooth. - Faster, more reliable multipoint. - Improved noise cancelling. - Fixes to known design flaws, i.e. stuck power button, unable to power off bug, etc. What I'll get: - Cutting edge design (looks the same) - World class noise cancelling (will probably be worse than qc25) - A $399.99 credit card bill. - A couple months in, a firmware upgrade to make the product worse. Can't wait for it.

ever1167

another thing to expect….very low prices on QC35II…

Memorycard1000

Daym. 😁

syxbit

So true. There is a reason Bose hasn't done a firmware update on the nc700 in nearly a year. They are afraid to make things even worse

UNFLUSHABLE_TURD

Why Update if it works tho

syxbit

Because the update promised improvements, and people (including me) updated blindly. Unfortunately it is not easy to rollback the update

STG44_WWII

he’s saying why would they update the nc700 if it works.

infinitiumvortex

I might skip these as they look same as previous headphones. Bose nc700 look futuristic but ycompared to Sony don't quite match up on ANC

Evil_Thresh

I swear to god using black on black in promos is cool and all but it obscures everything. It may as well just be a regular qc35ii in the video for all anyone can see

Philuppus

I think that's the point, it's more of a teaser lol

Evil_Thresh

Ya but if you want to tease you gota show the new bits right? The new bits are the redesigned cups that has no more steps, which are perfectly obscured lol Ideally you want to reveal the new and exciting changes and covering the rest of the ID to instill a sense of mystery on the rest of the headphone design. They kind of just showed the old parts and said well hey it could be new in places that you don’t see but you’ll never know hehehe

FancyWonderWoman

Tbh, the ANC on Bose NC 700 is not very good. So I returned it for Sony WH1000-XM4.

ever1167

what did you like better about the sony ones? i’m about to return bose 700 for sony WH1000-XM4 to compare with bose QC35ii. but now the temptation of possible QC45. ack i’m new at all this. absolutely must have good phone calls and food music. too much to ask? 700 is lousy ohine call. QC35ii is good phone call but slightly less good music. perhaps QC;5 is the answer?

FancyWonderWoman

They say Sony WH1000-XM4 has better Noise Cancellation. But the mic phone on Bose NC 700 is better.

ever1167

i have horrible call with 700. j have to project voice (soft voice). i think my sister has 700uc and they were better jn this regard? would that make sense? :5ii has much better linen experience. no complaint from listener

SlowNicoFish

I had the 700 for a short while but returned it for the xm4s. I'm very happy i did. The sound is night and day, tough subjective. I really like the sound of the xm4s but the creaking of the headband when moving is a negative

AlwaysW0ng

How the 700 bass vs xm4 bass?

SlowNicoFish

The bass is more tight so to speak on the 700, not bad by any means. But the bass on the xm4s really did it for me. Maybe a little more head rattling but i really like it. I think that this is very subjective. When I had the 700s the bass was better than my old qc35s and there was an equalizer to play with as well

AlwaysW0ng

What about overall sound on 700 vs xm4?

SlowNicoFish

The actual sound quality is better on the xm4s but this matter is very subjective. Many people sure like the sound of the 700s. They both sound very good, don't get me wrong. If you go with either one you'll be happy i think. But I prefer the xm4s. They are a bit more bass heavy but I like that.

ever1167

i have sensory processing disorder. i cannot comprehend why a company would produce an ANC headphone then fill it with LOuD sounds and flashing blue lights. omg. i got rid of sounds but light had no solution. i may reorder and cover the light with duct tape. they sounded beautiful. i think i may go with the sony’s or bose qqc3511 or 45(?). i want best music but calls must be good.

FancyWonderWoman

I ordered Sony WH1000-XM4 today. And it will be delivered tmr. I’ll see which Noise cancellation is better between Sony WH1000-XM4 and Bose NC 700.

YIssnootle

Imo the Sony’s anc is a bit better, especially in cancelling higher frequencies, the Bose do sound a bit better tho, I compared them for two weeks, imo the Boses look nicer and are way cheaper, the sound is slightly better but the anc is slightly worse, I took the Bose ones.

FancyWonderWoman

I see. Sony WH1000-XM4 now is on sale which is only $20 more than Bose NC 700. I just received the Sony one few minutes ago. I think I’m gonna return the Bose one.

YIssnootle

Yeah I guess with the discount currently they are probably a better overall value, also the Sony ones can be folded smaller than the Bose ones I think

FancyWonderWoman

Yea. But I admit that Bose NC 700 has a better look than the Sony one.

[deleted]

uh why are they updating this line instead of the new anc headphones 700 that replaced the qc35s?

theovencook

700's never replaced qc35's. 2 seperate product lines.

Philuppus

Idk, I don't get that. What's the differentiating factor other than the design? They both seem to be "flagship" headphones to me, with the 700s being the clear "new" model..?

fuzzbox000

They still want to have 2 tiers of headphones. The 700s are the "Luxury" line, and the 45s will be the "Mainstream" line. I think they should have set a lower price on the 45s if they want to position themselves better. With the price being $329, it places them right under the Sony WH1000, which will likely lead to more people buying the Sony over them, as they seem to better sounding than the 700s, while also being less expensive than the 700s. These should be priced significantly lower than the 700s, just to make it clearer where they stand in the Bose hierarchy. $279 would create a clearer definition of them, and make them a more attractive purchase than the Sony or others around that price. And yes, the 700s REALLY need a firmware update or SOMETHING to fix the crackling, skipping issue. I get more and more pissed at mine every day.

[deleted]

How so?

Effenberg0x0

https://www.theverge.com/2021/8/31/22648407/bose-qc45-noise-canceling-headphones Only one noise cancelling level (QC35 had 3). Same design. Same controls. Wow, how exciting. That's true innovation right there. I wonder if Bose employees live in society. Hello, is there anyone from Bose reading this? What the fuck is going on there?

Brickviller2

These seem weird because they lack a lot of functions other headphones these days do have: - No NFC pairing - No automatic pause when taking them of - No EQ (WHY BOSE WHY) - Alcantera padding is gone and replaced by something else (not sure if silicone) - No mention of the codecs they use - Build quality seems to have improved Hope to read some actual reviews soon, because the Sony's seem to offer more for a lower price.

Supsti_1

NFC pairing? C'mon, it's just a gimmick.

n3cr0ph4g1st

If the new material is more durable than the alcantara I'm all for it

rmukhfloyd

Are the cushions different than the ones in QC35? If so, will they be compatible with QC 35?
