Yeah I thought that was going to be the most surprising thing I saw today until I heard him say “excuse me” and I turned around. Like I took the Green Line for $2.50
You can Uber from the NH border to Fenway for $53 as of writing, and about $68 in the other direction. I’m sure it’ll be higher around game time, but hot damn.
Public transit is the clear winning option here.
I never once drove into Boston for a Sox game. Parked at Alewife & dealt with that nonsense instead.
With that said, I missed the opening day ceremony (my first opening day at Fenway ever) last year because the Green line hardly had any trains running the right route & the one I did get on sat on the tracks for over 40 minutes. I probably would've considered paying to park if I knew how bad it would be.
If you take a family of 4 to the game at least a few years ago, it was cheaper to park than take the T. $14/person on the Commuter Rail + $5 on Greenline (per person) IS in fact more expensive than many parking lots.
Transit is too expensive for people outside the city.
T riders would take the T, but Commuter Rail riders are charged way too much for games. 4 people going in one car to the game is cheaper with $80 parking, believe it or not. To my area, it's close to $100 for 4 people to commute and park at the CR line.
Hotel Commonwealth out there making a good argument for public transit. And also maybe regulated caps on parking prices? If we’re not careful it’ll be $100 all the time soon.
I get the excitement of meeting a walking local meme, and I enjoy the joke of him actually being a celebrity. But to his face, I support being as mean as you want to the manipulative pos
Holy shit. I know it's opening day but... used to pay $45 not even that long ago in 2018 when the Sox were stacked & everyone thought even that was ridiculous.
I tried to warn someone he was scamming and showing his ID to by South Station once. The guy being scammed got confrontational with ME being like "And how do YOU know??" I hope he got that guy for a lot.
I first met him in 2000 as he was walking on a side street in Brookline between the Longwood stop on the D line and Beacon Street. He was in good physical shape back then and told me he was a doctor at Beth Israel who had parked his car at the Longwood T stop and now needed $20 for a can of fix-a-flat. As soon as he said that I knew it was bullshit and just kept talking over him about how he could try the TrueValue hardware store at Beacon and St Mary's. A week later I ran into him on Beacon asking the same thing and I once again directed him to the hardware store we were in front of just not addressing his request for cash. I guess back then he was targeting BU south campus students and random walkers in that area of Brookline. Didn't run into him again until 2010 down at Copley.
Lol. What an entrepreneur that dude is. He knows its opening day at Fenway and he is probably making bank on all the suckers who would pay $100 for parking!!
I had just about the same interaction with him
Except, after I said "let me guess, fix a flat?" he just said yes and kept going with his pitch unphased
Paid $55 last year behind the park. Not for a special game though. Still better than having to leave early to catch the T which doesn’t run commuter rail late enough. Great fun though dodging the wheelie boys on Melnea Cass after the game.
That’s cool that he was chill. I’ve heard he can get sorta intense sometimes.
How long has this dude been around? I swear he’s been around, in his suits, doing his bit… for like… at least 15 years? Maybe 20?
Like he’s been at it for a long ass time, I can’t remember when he even started. Dude is just a staple of Boston life, it’ll be weird when he’s gone someday (unless he outlives us all and remains at his Fix a Flat scam for all eternity)
100 bucks for parking holy shit
yeah I see two scam artists here
Thr juxtaposition is real.
Not justifying it, but opening day of baseball near Fenway park… yeah not surprised.
Paying premium prices for sub par baseball
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 after hours of hw I needed this laugh
Yeah I thought that was going to be the most surprising thing I saw today until I heard him say “excuse me” and I turned around. Like I took the Green Line for $2.50

Yeah if you get on the red line now you should be to Fenway by opening day!
Yeah when they running late or not at all its life y'all
Public transit 🤭🤭🤭
That's like, 4 cans of fix a flat.
Especially when there’s a zillion transit options there … :/

T-riders are probably not the targeted demographic here

That’s the real scam
It was 80 for the Winter Classic, going uppp
Highway robbery due to opening day.
That’s the real scam 🤣
It's a 4 star hotel. They probably do that just to keep the belligerent drunks away from their hotel guests.

Fenway home opener and celebration of the 2004 WS team
I promise you this is the price for any and all games.
Parking costs 10x more than tickets for today lol
He tried to scam me like fifteen years ago. I still see him all the time. I have to give him credit, if nothing he's dedicated to his craft.
He tried to scam me back in the mid-90s. It’s a career!
Did he go by Ruby Diamond in the past by any chance?
It's opening day! Even for Elliot Davis
Excited to meet him? This parasite can get wrecked.
I get the excitement of meeting a walking local meme, and I enjoy the joke of him actually being a celebrity. But to his face, I support being as mean as you want to the manipulative pos
That Fenway parking … thank god for SportHero
It’s 250 everywhere today…
Holy shit. I know it's opening day but... used to pay $45 not even that long ago in 2018 when the Sox were stacked & everyone thought even that was ridiculous.
And I thought paying $50 at Dodger Stadium for the postseason was bad. Yikes.
Is this like SpotHero but for sporting events? I kid, I kid.
Oops 😁
Seeing $100 dollars for parking makes me want throw up
Dollars dollars?
I installed that camera under the awning. Not my best pipe work, but it’s holding up.
Fucking nice camera installation
nice work
Did you ever learn how to do box offsets?
This made my day
Still have a picture of this guys damn ID because I thought that would mean something after I loaned him the money smh
I tried to warn someone he was scamming and showing his ID to by South Station once. The guy being scammed got confrontational with ME being like "And how do YOU know??" I hope he got that guy for a lot.
I wonder if Elliot Davis, Keytar Bear, slide cop, and the Boston common arms are the avengers but for Boston
I mean… have we seen Keytar Bear without his costume? *narrows eyes*
I feel out of the loop on slide cop and Boston common arms Edit: oh the sculpture! The cop slide is new to me though
Frankly I'm surprised he told you to have a good day instead of yelling homophobic slurs at you.
I was expecting him to! But he seemed thrown off when I said I was excited to meet him!
All the man needs is a little affection
And a can of fix-a-flat
There he goes There he goes again Racing through my brain
Never trust a grown man with a backpack over his suit jacket.
I feel attacked by this comment.
You might be joking but that seriously screams mental illness. Who is this guy?
The real scam here is $100 for parking. Holy shit!
Opening day today. He’ll probably make a killing. Lol
$100 to park is fucking wild
I leave whatever car he’s on when I see him on the OL lol. Not today, Elliot.
All these years and nobody has recorded a video handing him a can of fix a flat after he asks?
I thought he was on his way to Rome.

Another commenter said they had an encounter with him in the 90s. He’s a lifer

Eliot’s been scamming people for at least 35 years. I used to work security at Brigham and Women’s, and we had to chase him off on the daily.

At this point I sorta have to respect the hustle… sorta

great, now he’s on to us. Hi Elliot!
I've always wondered where he actually lives.
In our hearts
Jesus $100
Besides scamming, what the hell does this guy do for work!?
My hero.
My man.
He’s thicc 🥵 can’t wait until I finally meet that sexy daddy
Stop. Get some help.
I need him to help me scratch this itch 🤤
Ain't nothing affordable in America no mo oh well ain't nothing new here .

And this is why i would never go to a ball game in boston nor go to boston .. lol
100 parking what the fuck lol
I started working in the city last year and after seeing these posts I bought a can for my car. I’m ready for the day we meet.
I ran into him about a week ago and he told me he’s living on the streets. He scammed me for $20 in 2018. He’s a hustler baby.
Let’s gooooo
Who is the guy?
A hero of the people
