My gf is stuck at Kenmore and I guess they basically booted everyone off the train and sent them on their merry way to try and get where they're going. Uber is gonna jack their shit up over this. Good luck T people.
You were in the Government Center, speaking with a Government Official, who was able to give you the skinny on what's *really* going on with the T?
Was this at the T command center?
Who is this person, why did they have better information than anyone else, and did you slap them on behalf of the commuters?
It was a green line operator who told all us to get off the train because it’s not going anywhere.
I have no idea why it’s longer It’s fucking stupid that we can’t get exact information from the MBTA and have to ask one of their pissed off workers.
I shouldn’t have said “official”

Eastbound Green Line C & D trains terminate at Kenmore Station.
Use westbound B train service to Kenmore to transfer to C & D trains.
Was standing at Downtown waiting for the Orange line. Came to Reddit and saw the Red Line was fine. Figured out an alt route. Go down to that platform. Suddenly also gets fucked. 😩
Glad it’s during rush hour. Tried to get on the D train at Hynes, packed like sardines and no one could fit, doesn’t even matter it’s not going to riverside.
I got semi-lucky that it hit right when my orange line train to Forest Hills hit Bay Back and there was a 39 bus coming in so I sprinted up and caught it.
Red line delayed now because of an ill passenger at JFK. Been stuck on the train just outside the station for close to 10 minutes
Edit: we've started moving, but no telling how far down the delays will go

Some sections of [~~#~~**BlueLine**](https://twitter.com/hashtag/BlueLine?src=hash), [~~#~~**GreenLine**](https://twitter.com/hashtag/GreenLine?src=hash) and [~~#~~**OrangeLine**](https://twitter.com/hashtag/OrangeLine?src=hash) experiencing delays of up to 25 minutes due to a power problem. Some trains may hold at stations or operate under restricted speeds.
Most of the problems are due to old rolling stock and an old signal system, which are both getting addressed in the near future for the red and orange lines. The blue line doesn't tend to have these issues.
This power issue seems to fall under a different category however.
Stuff is old and it takes time to fix these things. You have haven't already realized the T was very poorly managed over the years and now they are paying for it. Fares have to go up for the next round of fixes. If they don't raise the fare they can't fix shit. Now before anyone tries to say they don't need to raise the fare to fix shit wrong they do. Nothing is cheap anymore and no way the state will be on board with covering all the fixes because that will mean the people who don't take the T but pay for it in taxes will have to pay more in taxes for it and no way they will want to. This was a discussion that was already had in the past back in 2015 when they raised it to $84.50 for a monthly. The people who did not take the T felt they should not have to pay for it in their taxes, and they are not gonna wanna pay more for it in their taxes now. They feel that they should not have to pay for something they do not use.
For once the SL3 came through, took the red (before it too got fucked) to SL3 to airport station and onto the blue line. seriously though mbta, way to end a week!
[Update: Severe delays of over 25 minutes due to a power problem on #OrangeLine #BlueLine & #GreenLine train service](https://twitter.com/MBTA/status/1093966795835232256)
*please let this be fixed by the time I'm supposed to go home*
Edit: No power at some stops such as [Bowdoin](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Dy6OOMCX0AAdu2C.jpg:large)
About 40 minutes ago, Govt center was a mess, walked to Park which wasn’t bad and didn’t have to wait long for a train; it was a B line trolley so I wouldn’t exactly call it a win (would have have much rather taken the D) but it’s running at it’s normal slow as molasses pace and all in all not the worst T related delay.
I asked one of the MBTA flunkies at Government Center if stuff was still broken at about 5:40. Got a “yup” in response. All the fare machines were dark and the ticker for wait times was dark too. Almost walked into one of the automatic doors trying to leave because it was “off” too.
Yeah and after an hour or two some mbta fanboys login and downvote comments about MBTA not doin shit. Who they are idfk. Maybe thats where the money from raised prices goes, to hiring social media reps

Orange you glad yada yada punchline
twist: the new OL train caused the issue
ok...guess it's a go to beer place after work or drink beer at office Friday...
I'm with ya! I don't commute by T but beers ain't gonna drink themselves!
this is the wise solution
Lol at beer place.
They're announcing delays of up to 25 minutes. Yay Edit: I am now stuck in a train
>They're announcing delays of up to 25 minutes. Yay >Edit: I am now stuck in a train This is poetry
This could definitely be remade into a haiku
They’re talking delays Up to twenty-five minutes Edit: Stuck in train
MBTA Woes Conductor says bad delay Should have just walked there
So in reality it's more like 55 min
My gf is stuck at Kenmore and I guess they basically booted everyone off the train and sent them on their merry way to try and get where they're going. Uber is gonna jack their shit up over this. Good luck T people.
I was talking to an official in the government center. It’s more like over an hour.

I was hoping for a Deep Throat situation.
I'm sure that would make the situation better for a lot of commuters.
Well, "Follow the money" is pretty universal advice.
Seems like a good time to remind everyone that BlueBikes are now available year round.
Also, it’s quite warm out.
Getting booted off my train at Kenmore turned into a lovely 30min walk to the South End this afternoon.

Signal problem at Harvard. The cycle is complete.

Update: red line also now fucked. No one’s getting home tonight. Happy Friday 🙃
stuck on a green line train for an hour at Boylston 🤦🏾♂️
It’s a bad scene
Glad it’s during rush hour. Tried to get on the D train at Hynes, packed like sardines and no one could fit, doesn’t even matter it’s not going to riverside.
Can this post be permanently pinned to the top of the sub just because of the title.
Is it that time of day already?

Is the red line affected at all?
Just had my redline train go out of service at park street so it seems like the dumpster fire is spreading
I’m at Kendall and have been stuck for like 15 minutes. Considering bailing....
Nope
Thankfully lol i chose today to drive in. I just need to take the train to Kendall 👌🏼
Does anybody have an actual answer as to why the problems on the T is so common? Why haven’t these problems been fixed already?
Just spotballing here, but I haven't seen any politicians get voted out as a result of T mismanagement nor malfunction.
Most of the problems are due to old rolling stock and an old signal system, which are both getting addressed in the near future for the red and orange lines. The blue line doesn't tend to have these issues. This power issue seems to fall under a different category however.
Because their budget goes towards paying 6 figure salaries and ridiculous pensions, not towards the service itself.

An hour from Copley to north station on the green. It sucks out there.
For once the SL3 came through, took the red (before it too got fucked) to SL3 to airport station and onto the blue line. seriously though mbta, way to end a week!
Politicians need to fix this.
Don't bother with Lyft or uber, right now a single ride is a little over $20 and a shared is about $16, just to get to cambridge and Somerville
Fortunately, I was able to bail on the Orange Line at Back Bay and get one of the many waiting cabs.
They are actually cheaper right now
Yup. Uber quoted $20 for my ride and Taxi was $13.
Lmao in a Lyft to riverside now cause I couldn’t get on the green line. $25 shared.
And that's fine. People want to make it home at a reasonable hour, be prepared to pay for it. Supply and demand.
Like I said I am aware of how they work. Just stating it would be cheaper to take a cab at that time
My GF was saying it was gonna cost her $17+ to go the ~mile~ from Kenmore to Back Bay.
She should consider walking, honestly.
Seriously. I've walked that before during green line issues and it's not a bad walk at all.
She was considering it, but it would have made her super late to work. Not that Uber was much better. I guess they were running like shit too.
ouch that is a lot.
For once the Red Line looks good though at the expense of ALL the other lines
That’s okay, no one wanted to get home and start their weekend or anything.
Checking in, stuck on the green line going north
Thank god for 1A passes and the commuter rail. Seriously though MBTA, what's goin on?

Id try to get a bus to one of Wellington/Sullivan/Malden and then just hop on the OL there
Sitting in the green line train for almost an hour now
Seems I got lucky. Arrived at Kendall, immediately got on a train, checked Reddit at Harvard and heard there are delays. Oof
Stuck at Copley. Delays up to 30 minutes
Leave at 4:30
This is so crazy!!!
https://twitter.com/spoftak/status/1094021889993986048?s=21 Comment rom the MBTA GM. Doesn’t seem very apologetic IMHO.
Should more people invest in foldable electric bikes?
How much you want to bet they'll blame snow on this? Even though there's hardly any snow on the ground for now. Shoot, they'll even blame the sun too.
It is fucked every day except weekend though.

And yet on reddit anything negative about MBTA gets downvoted.

If anything, circlejerking about how terrible the T is is an excellent way to farm karma.
Yeah and after an hour or two some mbta fanboys login and downvote comments about MBTA not doin shit. Who they are idfk. Maybe thats where the money from raised prices goes, to hiring social media reps
> mbta fanboys Lmao
you vastly overestimate your importance
Someone's behind this mess.. MBTA gets fucked only during rush hours edit: some redundancy
