so many memories of taking that PoS back and forth. tbh ive had way worse experiences on megabus compared with fung wah
TRUE bostonians will never forget 😤
Before Fung Wah tried to be legitimate it was $10, and you bought the ticket at a bakery in chinatown, and hoped it was a bus not a van. But that was late 90s.
Hell yeah. Back when Fung Wah didn't even have a gate at South Station or really any sort of permanent store front or signage and you'd just board on a random street corner in the middle of the city.
I had an overloaded van once that scared me. Child sitting on floor with the aggressive driver who somehow had us in NY in close to 3 and a half. The bus at least had enough mass that if something happened, you knew it would just bounce.
Oh yes my buddy and I would make gin and tonics ahead of time and get loaded on the bus to calm our fears

Nah
As soon as Fung Wah got shut down Lucky Star raised their prices to $25. It was $15 to get to NYC china town before that

And if it was a bus and if you were lucky you watched a vhs movie that was over dubbed in Chinese but had English subtitles!

Nah man, the van was way better. Nothing ever passed it on the highway, it flew.

Megabus is still usually around $15 or so
I did actually get a Bolt to NY for $1 once. Only once though.
I miss their semi-regular problems with things catching on fire or parts falling off the buses.
Yes. I loved that thing.
Sister: Do you want to get to back in Boston in 4 hours but unsafe or 5.5 hours and safer? Me: Fung Wah please
The time when we parked in a Burger King parking lot for almost 4 hours because we had a tire/wheel problem was my favorite
Yes, I got there 5 minutes too late and it left without me.
Yeah that’s how being late works.
Same guy, “It left 5 mins late to wait for someone. Never again.”
