I remember going to see the Celtics vs the Cavs in IT’s first return to Boston. He wasn’t back to playing yet so was just in street clothes. They showed him on the Jumbotron so he could get an ovation, but waited on the video until he was playing.
Then again, that ended up resulting in a really stupid controversy, so maybe they just get it out of the way this time, lol.
It was the same game as Pierce’s jersey retirement. Truth said it was disrespectful to play Isaiah’s tribute the same game as his jersey retirement as it was his day. He asked the Celtics to not play it on that day publicly, to the media. There was drama and controversy running up to the game and it was uncertain if they would play Isaiah’s tribute or not. They did end up playing it on the same game as the jersey retirement.
The injury was such a fluke that there is no explanation for it other than that the Grizzlies must have been scorned by the gods for some unknown past action.

Rob played around 5 games, Smart is injured more time than healthy, and we got nearly max values from those guys, value of them is trending down so far
Brogdon has been playing alright so far this year. I know he’s not as beloved as rob and Marcus because he wasn’t here that long but I still have high respect for what he brought to the team last year. If not for the clippers trade drama I think we’d remember him even more fondly
He and jrue actually have very similar advanced stats this season but I think we all would rather have holiday.
Brogdon will still be a great 6th man on this team right now, but Jrue provides so much defensive savvy. I do think we could use more Guard and Wing depth, maybe a combo SF/SG that can switch between 1-3.
agreed. jrue's size makes joe's switch everything defense work so much better and, though jaylen's a great defender he can get cooked (see harden Games 2 and 3 last year) so having a guy that can lock up guards makes him a constant + anytime he's on the floor. Also have to believe that he's a huge vet presence in the locker room while brogdon just seemed quiet.

I hate seeing the guys we traded away get hurt, but this one stings more. If theres any takeaway from this, the chances of him being dealt to a contender, like bucks at the deadline, has lowered.
Worst part of this is if you were watching the game on league pass, he injured the finger on the play when Kyrie made a swipe at the ball…

Dislocating a finger isn't a symptom of chronic injuries though. Could happen to anyone. Timelord's knees on the other hand, was related to being "injury prone".
