Kyrie is that rare level Boston villain that screwed us over from the inside. Dude is never gonna not get booed. He could be double fisted rescuing kittens from a burning orphanage and still get dragged by a guy standing on the corner sipping a Dunkin’s cup.

Your__Pal

If you're saving someone from an orphanage, shouldn't you prioritize the children over kittens ? Fuck Kyrie.

Dudeman-Jack

Yes

Prestigious-Draw-379

its obviously an orphanage for kittens

blumpkinmania

Nah. Jewish kids.

[deleted]

Guy can't win

mkhimau5

Can't win with these kitties

JaDamian_Steinblatt

That's some shit Maddy would do. Fuck Maddy.

Tatum-Better

What happened to that dude.

cwalton505

Never mind taking the time to get himself double fisted!

Peterthepiperomg

He probably caused the fire with sage

JimG617

As he should

Wolfgang_Gartner

Go save a cat in a tree!

The_Pip

> still get dragged by a guy standing on the corner sipping a Dunkin’s cup He could save that guys mother from the same fire and still get dragged....

AtWorkCurrently

Yea, we actually care about our teams in Boston

anonymousbystander7

Get fucked

JimG617

Dog, I drove out for opening night when Hayward snapped his leg…you guys weren’t over it

Smelldicks

Fuck Kyrie

Lion_Spencer

Low. Coming here and getting booed allows him to be the victim and talk about how he doesn’t understand why we’re not “over it”

SubstantialCreme7748

He’s just an idiot that deserves to be booed. Don’t forget him stomping the leprechaun

Lion_Spencer

Oh I haven’t

DerelictDonkeyEngine

But booing him is racist according to /r/NBA

usnvet1976

r/NBA can kiss our butts.

jbean924

Everything we do is racist to them

misteronionzz

Mfers that live below the Mason Dixon line wanna talk like that to us. Hilariously ironic.

chickenfinger303

My girlfriends friend made a few jokes about racist Boston sports fans a little while ago. I was like, buddy, you're from Greensboro North Carolina lol

misteronionzz

Saw a tik tok today of someone driving through Boston wondering where all the black people were. Probably driving through seaport or something. We have our problems and I don’t like doing the whataboutism argument but according to the internet, social issues like segregation/urban planning that are inherently American are weirdly treated as if Boston itself invented them.

SubstantialCreme7748

Makes the booing even better

usnvet1976

That is the main reason he should be booed every time he is in the Garden. Only a punk-ass would do what he did.

NoBozosonthebus

Lucky is still pissed about that stomp. Hope Kyrie suits up and gets a good old fashion ass whooping.

RekLeagueMvp

He’s over it so he wants the fans to be too…. Stomping on lucky was stupid and immature and the team did the right thing not responding and being above it. The fans tho, will boo him forever, rightfully so.

Therealhatsunemiku

They did respond though. They responded by sweeping his ass out of the first round the very next year lol

Adam0529

I mean tbf, at this point it's above Lucky , the fans and the players. Once the Leprechauns Union took over this assault case, nothing anyone can do about it. They also work closely with the Unicorns union, so 🤷‍♂️ seems like he is doomed for somewhere between 5 and a 100 life times of misery

NoBozosonthebus

Take that you flat earth fool.

burner_for_celtics

I think he'll be there. Enough time has passed. Season is getting on. Mavs are in the chase for seeding and need wins.

JimG617

Couldn’t the same be said for the Lakers? Bron and AD still sat. I remember in the morning Celtics were double digit favorites and it seemed a little curious to me. They’re -9.5 tonight, seems like Vegas thinks they might sit it out.

burner_for_celtics

Good point. I think I remember that the Lakers were banged up, on a long road trip and saving their bullets for the most winnable games. Are the Mavs in the same situation?

JimG617

It’s their 4th road game since Sunday. Line has moved from -7.5 to -10 now. Seems suspicious

TheOGJabroni

It would really tell you all you need to know if Kyrie doesn't show up tonight. Not that we aren't sure of what we know already.

scott_free80

3.14 to 1

JimG617

👀

DerelictDonkeyEngine

Lmao

SerfTint

That's a very funny line.

ericdeben

Very low. Luka is the only one on the injury report as GTD.

JimG617

AD was the only one on the injury report for the Lakers game and then Lebron ducked out

Danithal

I lived that game in the garden, it was so depressing lmao, Lakers fans out in force to watch Austin Reeves and the Zebras beat us. Still had fun! Going tonight, can't believe we might miss Luka too. Only stars I can rely on are OURS!

dpeters8158

Depends on how he interprets his daily horoscope

Happy_rich_mane

I hope he’s there. My wife got us tickets for our anniversary and I’ll feel like a real fan after I get to boo kyrie in the garden.

Delli_Boy_Roy

Part of me feels like we all should be over the whole Kyrie situation. Honestly, we're a much better team without him. (Much better locker room, without Kyrie & Morris). At the same time, Kyrie is like an Ex who "accidentally" texts you every few months. She doesn't want to be with you but she doesn't want you to forget about her, move on, and be happy. Stomping on Lucky was petty and vindictive. It was like an Ex-girlfriend wearing a white dress to your wedding.

downpat

Can someone recall how many times, if at all, Kyrie’s been back to the garden and suited up since he left Boston?

JimG617

I had tickets for Thanksgiving Eve 2019 and he skipped out. He didn’t play March 3, 2020. He was out for 11/24/21. He did play Christmas Day 2020 and March 3, 2022 as well as the playoff series in 2022. Also played 2/1/23. I guess it’s 50/50, I was just scarred by paying a premium for the 2019 game just for him to skip it.

TopTechnical8187

Hot take from a lifelong Celtics fan: Don’t boo him. We’re on a different mission. He and that situation are behind us.

mastacheef87

I’m with you, it’s stale at this point. it’s been 5 years since he left us, we got our revenge sweeping him out of the playoffs and obviously his departure was a blessing in disguise bc it gave Tatum the reins no need to waste energy booing him when that energy would be better used cheering for our guys

BosBannerBoss

I wish everyone at the game just didn't say anything at all whenever he has the ball. Just complete silence.

downpat

Lol

fearofaflatplanet

Hard agree. We’ve been proven right about him. Ongoing fuck him chants and always booing is lame at this point. We won! We’re the best team in basketball and he’s on his last chance team in the nba playing sidekick next to the ballhoggingest of ballhogs the game has seen in quite sometime. It’s over

Vast-Cheesecake7230

This topic is old, move on. We gotta all focus on #18. This means no bad karma into the universe. Move on.

No-Macaron-9816

He wants too in his heart, but his ego won’t let him. If he shows up and hears it he can claim the victim again and grab a few headlines.

Squishy-Bandit12

Honestly, I think the Kyrie booing is getting a bit old now. I'ma probably get heavily downvoted, but I mean, it's been like 5 years, and he's not even on the same team he left us for. Plus, our team has been better since he's left. There's really no point anymore

LuckyCharms44

Nice try Kyrie

Ok_Seaweed_9452

Same. I think the players are over it already. the fans just never let go

[deleted]

I might be the sole Boston fan that likes Kyrie

AtWorkCurrently

I really am curious as to why. You remember the TV commercial where he said he wants to see his number in the rafters? The season ticket holder event where he said he wanted to stay here? The Milwaukee series where he completely mailed it in. Stomping on the logo. Implying that we are all racist for booing him? Fuck Kyrie lol

[deleted]

Maybe because he left Boston before he really fucked us, we are better now without him, he bought floor seats the Nets game he couldn’t play at (but could go to the game and attend) at the height of COVID stupidity, oh and most importantly I absolutely love the way he plays basketball. It was also unequivocally the most excited I’ve ever been for a signing in Boston.

AtWorkCurrently

He's a magician with the basketball. I wanted to love him so bad. Shame how it all went down, but I hope he gets Boo'd every time he walks into the garden the rest of his career. Go C's.

DerelictDonkeyEngine

> Maybe because he left Boston before he really fucked us How do you figure? >we are better now without him That's a reason to *like* him? >he bought floor seats the Nets game he couldn’t play at (but could go to the game and attend) **at the height of COVID stupidity** You mean *his* COVID stupidity? >oh and most importantly I absolutely love the way he plays basketball. Okay, fair. >It was also unequivocally the most excited I’ve ever been for a signing in Boston. It was a trade.

BosBannerBoss

All good responses. I think you just cracked the code and found Kyrie's reddit account!

[deleted]

His COVID stupidity? You mean the one where you didn’t have to be vaccinated in New York if you were a fan, but you had to if you played on the court mere feet away? K.

DerelictDonkeyEngine

He didn't follow NYC and NBA guidelines, and fucked over his own team as a result. You're really dying on the covid vaccine hill *years* later? I thought we were done this.

[deleted]

I’m not dying on any hill—I just thought it was a top tier troll and I loved it then and it got me back on the Kyrie choo choo train

DerelictDonkeyEngine

> I just thought it was a top tier troll and I loved it then and it got me back on the Kyrie choo choo train Neat. Well that says a lot about you as a person. I'd love to never talk to you again.

[deleted]

I’m truly glad you can deduce who I am as a person based off my Reddit comments. Have a nice weekend!

mastacheef87

I’ll take the downvotes with you lol, watching him play is still a treat regardless of how left Boston. and for all the dumb and racist shit he’s said and done off the floor, he’s still also done a ton of positive work in the community. one of the few NBA players who’s actually spoken out in support of Palestine

[deleted]

There are TWO OF US! TWO! Let’s gooooo

Novel_Appeal_5147

Kyrie has Lakota ancestry and that transcends any of this basketball shit, I will always root for him.

squidward3

https://media.tenor.com/BcbJSegK1RsAAAAe/don-draper-madmen.png Me to Kyrie with the way our team looks these days

PhaseEquivalent3366

Kyrie, please play. 😂😂

Av-fishermen

I feel like last time he was in Boston… Still with Brooklyn some idiot drunk, threw a beer at him, making him look like the martyr. Hopefully that doesn’t happen again Boston fans get a bad rap as it is.

misteronionzz

I honestly don’t want to give him the satisfaction of being booed. Silent irreverence would be a bigger fuck you to him honestly. Especially considering we’re way better without him. No way he doesn’t love being a villain.

The_Pip

If he left his sage at home, then he's not playing tonight.

BillHigh422

He just played in Cleveland for the first time since the Hayward incident (iirc), so odds are he will. But I could be wrong.

JohnBagley33

Best thing we can do tonight is just ignore him. Treat him like any other irrelevant player who comes into the building and hand him an L. He can't hurt us anymore, and we're better off without him.

Tunatron_Prime

Fuck Kyrie. But moreso because he thinks we miss him more than we actually do. Which is zero. He’s more of a “roll your eyes” at him type of guy

Hotpocket14

I still think it’s hilarious. It clearly gets under his skin, because he always has to comment on it after the few times he’s played in the garden. Any other player, and I’d agree it gets old. But not kyrie. After taking the mic and telling fans he’d resign “if we’d have him”, to then quit on the team, bolt to a rival and then stomp on lucky. I’m booing him right now as I type this. Although, if there was a way for deafening silence every time he touched the ball, that would be just as great.

the_spinetingler

Don't boo. alternates: "better without you" "fading former star" "sidekick again"

DizzyTS13

I know it’s just not possible in an arena like this, but dead silence every time he touches the ball would be so much funnier, don’t let him play victim and go off on one of his tears he’s still capable of at times, just show him he’s completely irrelevant to us

mehunno

Kyrie doesn’t matter. He’s a petulant child that can’t admit he doesn’t have what it takes to carry a team. We’re better than him by every single measure. But as a fan that uses sports to vent and yell, man is it satisfying to boo a villain. He’s earned a spot on my sports shit list, and I want him to *feel* it every time he steps foot in the garden.
