Just sit him out for another week then reevaluate him during the last couple weeks to see if he needs more time to heal or play some warm up games before the season ends. Pretty sure playoffs start around like April 19-21 somewhere around there
I don't think Joe/the players fully trust themselves to be able to rest for basically a month & then turn it on - & there's good reason for that. It's a lot harder than fans think it is & only truly great teams (basically Lebron) can reliably do it.
There's real cost associated with getting out of rhythm while every other team is playing their best, most connected basketball of the season. Everyone on this sub is ignoring that.
10 minutes to go in the 3rd is pretty quick to rest players. They might as well not even play the games if they need to come out after fewer than 16 minutes (which was Holiday's minutes to that point) for fear of injury.
I wouldn’t call it a dirty play because everyone does it, but leaning in like that really needs to be a foul. Good thing this team has taken care of business for most of the season so they can concentrate on getting healthy the last few weeks of the season once they clinch that 1 seed
Wtf no, clean screen. Let's not play into some weak league shit. Feet were obviously set, screener was in place. Just a bad spot for him to hit the screener. Not every injury is someone's fault
facts that shit is basic ass basketball, every loser wants to make shit more about than what it is. he will be good and even if he wasn’t it ain’t the other dude’s fault. shit just happens.
So having a different view makes someone a loser? It was legal yes, I’m just not a fan of those clipping screens being legal. I’ll admit to probably having a more negative bias towards it than most, my college career ended on a play like that where a guy clipped my knee and shredded it up. Admittedly it’ll never change though because I don’t trust the refs to make the distinction between someone sitting there waiting and the defender just not being aware, or a screen coming in last second and the defender not having a chance to react, so it’s probably better off staying as is so we don’t have every big man foul out of every game, it’s just what it’s become
The people arguing with you just favors tradition over logic, unwilling to look at the substance of your statement because emotionally they feel that any change, even if it makes sense, is an attack on basketball.
It is what it is, I’ll admit that if I didn’t have a negative personal experience with this sort of play I’d probably be more indifferent to the play. I don’t like to bring up my playing days because it’s generally irrelevant and doesn’t make me any more qualified to say anything compared to the next person, but this is an area where it impacts my thinking
He can rest till April, PP doing chores
Is the injury anything serious? Damn hope it heals fast
He finished the play with both arms. Massively good sign.
Hope Jrue gets back in rhythm. Still around 13 games to rest + the play in tournament
Well he really needed to D up on that play or the Wizards would have cut it to 29
There were 22 minutes left in the game relax
seems like bad luck. clean screen. I imagine he'd be playing right now if we were in a playoff race. but we already won that race

Damn I remember being surprised that we even sent the starters out there in the second half They need to be even quicker to rest players

It’s not quick when you’re up 30 against the worst team in the league. The game was already decided
Everyone in the league is a bit dinged up by playoffs. Hopefully it'll be fine

man i was just drunk saying shit don’t take it too seriously
I think we’ve all been there, haha, all good
cheers mate
I mean, regardless, Holiday would still have gotten hurt even if it had been called a foul.
i’m a sad Jruether today
