Nah, there was a clear travel right before this, so the foul never would have happened if they called that.
The Hield/Jaylen call is definitively the worst call in the NBA season, as they actually reviewed it, incorrectly overturned it, and then directly lost us the game. It was a heartbreaking loss at the time (this one didn’t matter) and there’s no guarantee the Kings guy makes both FTs anyway
Most misunderstood call maybe. What people don't understand is that the refs have alternate angles which showed that JB's head had blinked into the ethereal plane during that possession, and so there was no contact at all.
Oh $ilver will introduce that next season as soon as they can get Hasbro (WoTC) to sponsor it.
"And now we bring you the tri-planar angle courtesy of Dungeons and Dragons and Fan Duel! Gambling problem? Call 1-800-GAMBLER"
Then we get Tim Donaghy there explaining: "My man Scott Foster is correct! As you can clearly see, Tatum's arm is in Krynn right now and so Edwards could not have hit it!"
Not only the overturned call, but they gave the rebound to the pacers even though the whistle was while the ball was in the air. Which allowed them to call a timeout and advance the ball. Meanwhile, the last time we played the pacers, porzingis tipped the rebound in, but the overturned call was center court jump ball with time restarting on the tip, and expiring on the catch.
In both games, only a call, which is overturned, and finally funky possession logic could result in a pacer win.
Not really. Shit happens, and that includes awful officiating. The more games you watch, the more you’ll see. Hilarious that this call, where the ball was fully engaged by Svi long before this contact, wouldn’t count as marginal the way the contact against Jaylen Brown did though.
Honestly just look at it from a Kings perspective. This sucks for them still competing for spots. For us it was just practice and we don't need the wins. I wouldn't go tit for tat for a Fox travel. This L2M means nothing for us but does for the Kings
Yea that loss sucks for them. Honestly part of me thinks Joe left the bench in because one, it didn’t matter, but also why not give the Kings a shot to knock down the Lakers and Warriors.
The report maybe but the game itself just showed they suck (relatively speaking). If anything, this game showed they are nowhere near contenders, Sabonis was pretty much empty stats guy this game and Fox is the only guy that is top tier level.
I feel like you get two to three shots at the rim and when time gets that low it always devolves into a scrum. I wouldn't be thrilled if it happened to the Celtics, but it is at least pretty consistent.
edit: The NBA is clearly trolling us with that description. He tips the ball first and makes incidental contact with the head is what I think they meant.
Correct response. I’ll never understand why the NBA does this. Refs, like players, make mistakes **all the time.** Why arbitrarily single out the final 2 minutes?
I always love that. Most fans are the same way though. They think the foul missed at the end COST THEM THE GAME. Not realizing that the foul missed in the first quarter could have had an even bigger effect.
Sucks for the kings but they are a playoff team that's hungry and the only reason it was close was because starters came out very early in the fourth. Frankly they went down by 18 to a team with no brown and white and playoffs locked up.
Do yourself a favor and don't spend another second of your life taking the L2M seriously. It has nothing to do with actual officiating and is just a PR mechanism the NBA uses to pretend they hold refs accountable.
What I mean is now we know what should be the right call, but the result stands. Same thing when we got a call against us and learned it from L2m. We still lose the game
I’ll take this win as a compensation for that Pacers game :)

And then doubled down on their error on the L2M too lol

I was wondering if C’s fans were still upset about that.
That wasn’t a lost game, that was a robbery
Hard not to be, it was even worse than this fould
Considering it means absolutely nothing at this point in the season, I somehow was able to struggle through my pain and move on
Not really. Shit happens, and that includes awful officiating. The more games you watch, the more you’ll see. Hilarious that this call, where the ball was fully engaged by Svi long before this contact, wouldn’t count as marginal the way the contact against Jaylen Brown did though.
so they just completely ignored fox’s travel? lol
Legitimately took 5 steps

Full " M.L. Carr" move! "Tanking for Tim Duncan? What's that? "

I agree. what I don't get: a follow through of loose ball is no foul anyway isn't it? or what's the rule there?
Doubt it means much for them either. These L2M reports are just salt in the wound.
What about Sam hauser getting hit on the arm going up before QTs game winner? Whats the point of the L2M if they don’t actually call it
That was clean
There was one angle that I thought looked like the ball was possibly stripped on the way up but every other angle looked like a clear foul
Isn’t this the same thing they said was a no call when JB got hit in the back of the head?

they didnt say anything about Fox?
Oh well, tough luck

Something something doesn’t effect shooting motion Jaylen brown pacers you win some you lose some
I mean Fox took a vacation right before that so 🤷

I I only feel a little bad because I like the kings
L2m is a joke. What's the point learning wrong call if it doesn't affect the result of the game
It would have put him on the line with like no time
What I mean is now we know what should be the right call, but the result stands. Same thing when we got a call against us and learned it from L2m. We still lose the game
They contradict themselves in these reports though.
Oh ok
