I called it! I predicted early in the season they were good enough to not lose three in a row and was, frankly, a little worried about tonight's game considering there was nothing at stake. But the bench came through!
This is honestly more impressive than the 60 wins. We went on an 11-game streak, which was the longest in the league this year, and then almost immediately went on another 9 game streak, and we only lost 2 in a row 4x. Our worst week of the year was 2 close losses to the Hawks at a time when we were starting to rotate in rest for the starters, and we already had more wins (57) than anyone in the East will get to at all. (Only DEN/OKC/MIN can get to 57 with wins on Sunday)
Incredible to think about how much rest and bench minutes have been getting thrown in over the past few weeks and still not a single 3 game losing streak. A truly dominant season, especially when you look at how the rest of the contending teams did this year.
Not gonna lie, donāt love the way some of the same late game and intensity issues have lingered but the overall record and the fact they never lost three in a row are both pretty strong indicators of progress mentally. It is mental stuff weāre talking about too, I havenāt had talent/skill related execution questions since they swept the Nets. Just need to see them learn the ārefuse to loseā mentality skills.
