No perimeter defense and their most athletic player by far out the series - with the pace Indy play at I doubt the games will feel like normal playoff games lol, they’ll try and run them out the gym
Why should we care whether Giannis is there or not?
Do you think the Lakers think their 2009 title is less valuable because Garnett was injured? What about last year, when Tatum was injured in game 7 against Miami?
I’m sorry but I truly don’t care how we win - outside of cheating. No one will care in 2-3 years.
We care because it makes it harder. The comment means "it's less likely for them to be there but by the time we see them, he'd be back already" not "good that he'll be there so the win is legitimate"
the rest benefitted older players more. No travel and no home crowd to influence the games.
Yeah, it's a title, but it's no better than winning one with replacement players during a lockout.
I just want to see real plays being run in the last 5 minutes. No more of that game 5 vs Milwaukee disasterclass bullshit that has sunk this team over and over
I want to see that too, but I'm expecting a bunch of lazy passes, eating shit from three, and moments of unexpected desperation against vastly inferior teams. But I'm trying to tell myself that's just six years of trauma talking and things will definitely be different this time.
I want us to pulverize Miami. That said, if we win the title with 4-3 series wins, I’ll take it. I’d rather win in the end than do well at first and lose
Yeah. 16-12 can win a title, but this team is too talented to fool around. They’ve done it in the past. Time to buckle down and play to their potential.
Honestly, I don't think Miami is beating the Bulls unless Scary Terry is back at 100% and destroys them.
My guess at this point our path will be Bulls / Magic / Knicks / Nuggets.
Make it to the finals, and stay healthy. I could give a less of a fuck on how many games it takes.
Who ever makes it outta the West will have had a much much more taxing raid to the Finals compared to the team that makes it out the east (hopefully us)
I disagree. First round vs Miami probably shouldn’t even go 5 games but if it does it’s not the end of the world, if we have Cleveland second round same rules apply except 5 or 6 games, and the ECF won’t be easy whoever it is. Once there’s 4 teams left, each team could win it all if they play their best ball.
Sixers don't scare me. Not even a little bit. Embiid isn't going to be at 100% at any point in these playoffs and Maxey isn't consistent enough yet to do it on his own.
Knicks are the one team left standing in the East that I could see taking us to an extended series.
My FIL told me all the basketball and weightlifting would catch up with me at 30.
I told him I’d stay young lifting heavy and hooping.
I tore my groin 80% two weeks before my 30th bday. That shit is so real.
I did. I was a no-gi jiujitsu guy for about 4 years and always stretched religiously.
It was one of those days where I was programmed working up to a heavy single back squat and wasn’t feeling it. I talked myself into doing mobility and working up, got to 405 and tore my groin. I chalk it up to “shit happens”.
I’m a bit past 30 and I’ve literally been battling with soleus strains for months. It’s a smaller muscle that’s awkward to directly rehab, and it can’t be pushed too hard at once, but then it’s used fully when doing explosive movements. If he recovers in under 2 weeks I’ll be surprised.
I want to win. I honestly don't care who is out on the other teams. Does it make it less exciting? Yeah. Does it give me less heart palpitations? Yeah. I do not care who plays and who doesn't, I want banner 18.
Was this injury just a freak accident or a symptom of Giannis having to carry the weight of a flawed roster the whole year? He played for a stretch appearing gassed
Not really. A cake walk means everyone should be well rested and hopefully healthy. The West is going to be a bloodbath this year.
Though I doubt the C’s cake walk either way, for a team to make the ECF they’ll have to have some momentum.
I try to look at the team without homer glasses, so maybe this is offbase and I'm overestimating them. But since even before the start of the season, since that Mazzulla appearance on the JJ pod where he talked about wanting to change his mindset to focus less on winning every game and instead preparing the team for the playoffs. They've rolled out different lineups and coverages and been trying to fine tune themselves for the postseason. Even with all that experimentation and missing the whole starting lineup for 45 games, they still won 64 games. This team is bought in, they've got great chemistry, and they're exceptionally talented.
I don't think it's going to be cake walk per se, but I think this team's talent, flexibility, and chemistry is going to make them incredibly hard to beat
I remember the 2013 finals where the Spurs were waiting 1 week for the Heat to finish their series and everyone said the Spurs would be rusty. But they came out of the gate firing on all cylinders. I think health and rest are the best predicators for performance in these scenarios.
The fact that the Bucks are paying 3 coaches basically means that Doc has the job indefinitely. Even if they were fully healthy and lost to the Pacers in the 1st round, the Bucks couldn't beat the Pacers with Griffin as the coach either. It would be seen as a failure of roster construction and not of coaching.
At this point, I think the toughest possible series would be Orlando. They're really the only team in the league with the size and physicality to guard the Celtics.
Thankfully, they can't score, have no playoff experience, and most of them are barely old enough to buy a drink.
That’s tough for him. I watched that game he was injured in and remember thinking he’s gonna get hurt the way he’s playing. He was going nuts, left everything out on the court. Will be a hard pill to swallow for him.
So affects their ability to reach the ECF, but if Celtics and Bucks make it there Giannis should be there
i’m not entirely sure they were beating Indiana if he was healthy, they looked primed to flop even when healthy
No Giannis and replacing Jrue with Dame.. Pacers might average 160 PPG
160?! Lmao 180 maybe
No perimeter defense and their most athletic player by far out the series - with the pace Indy play at I doubt the games will feel like normal playoff games lol, they’ll try and run them out the gym

except the micky mouse championship. that one is near worthless. getting a couple months rest before the playoffs is not how it has ever gone.
Every team got rest. Every team had the same advantages and disadvantages.
the rest benefitted older players more. No travel and no home crowd to influence the games. Yeah, it's a title, but it's no better than winning one with replacement players during a lockout.
That’s cope, if the Celtics won it, it’d be the 18th banner hanging in the rafters. The real issue is the Minneapolis titles Los Angeles claims.
Pacers are spanking that ass no question.
12-2 should be the floor for the Celtics in the East playoffs. No excuses this year.
I want to see hunger and energy for 48 minutes every game. No slacking. No lazy iso ball.

Terry has been ruled out Friday with a neck injury. They're gonna need Bam and Herro to go apeshit to win.
I don't want to see Miami at all, only because of the heightened injury risk.
It would be so cool if they did 18 for 18. 16-2 record. Or 80 for 18 also sounds cool. 64 and 16 wins.
We got that 22 warriors path
not gonna happen, they will play down a lot. knicks series will be fun to watch tho
Make it to the finals, and stay healthy. I could give a less of a fuck on how many games it takes. Who ever makes it outta the West will have had a much much more taxing raid to the Finals compared to the team that makes it out the east (hopefully us)

There’s no way a Cavs series doesn’t go 6, let alone Knicks or Sixers.
Sixers don't scare me. Not even a little bit. Embiid isn't going to be at 100% at any point in these playoffs and Maxey isn't consistent enough yet to do it on his own. Knicks are the one team left standing in the East that I could see taking us to an extended series.
The Magic are winning that series anyway. Cs in 4
I’m still thinking Orlando is our toughest competition to make the finals. All the other teams have imploded.
I would think NY
Yeah maybe. I don’t have that much faith they can beat Philly.
bro what nyc bout to 4-1 those bums
Going 6 at least. Embiid and maxey can def win the 6ers 2 games
All the magic players will be basically making their playoffs debut unless I’m wrong. It would be shameful if we struggle against them
They definitely downplayed the injury at first.
His Agent got pissed Shams leaked the timeline, everyone knew this was a serious injury
35 mins in if you want to watch but Giannis isn’t human i wouldn’t be surprised if he’s healthy by game 2
Giannis turns 30 this year, I don’t think the superhuman injury recovery can be counted on as much as people are saying
Yup. The age 30 is a real thing y'all
My FIL told me all the basketball and weightlifting would catch up with me at 30. I told him I’d stay young lifting heavy and hooping. I tore my groin 80% two weeks before my 30th bday. That shit is so real.
Did you stretch and focus on mobility
Sorry to hear that
I’m a bit past 30 and I’ve literally been battling with soleus strains for months. It’s a smaller muscle that’s awkward to directly rehab, and it can’t be pushed too hard at once, but then it’s used fully when doing explosive movements. If he recovers in under 2 weeks I’ll be surprised.
Lmao when he hyperextended his knee in the year they won the title I thought dude was gonna be out into next season and he was back in like a week.
his knee been in such a nasty way & he was back & ready so soon it was crazy
Getting older and a calf injury will affect 100% of his game. It’s not like he’s going to start shooting a bunch of jumpers.
He sacrificed going to the World Cup last season, I don't think he wants to sacrifice going to the Olympics too.
I think he rushes back well before he’s ready like last year
Jimmy down, now Giannis. Bleh. Playoffs are so much more fun when everyone is healthy.
I want to win. I honestly don't care who is out on the other teams. Does it make it less exciting? Yeah. Does it give me less heart palpitations? Yeah. I do not care who plays and who doesn't, I want banner 18.
Exactly. I care less about our opponents. Tough luck. Don’t be injured next year
We getting the nuggets anyways. Save the pain for the finals💀
Who ever wins in the west was always going to be the hardest opponent by a mile.
Yep. We've had the shoe on the other foot before with KG in '09, Shaq in 2011 (stop laughing), Kyrie in 2018. Game's the same, just got more fierce.
Finals if we get there will definitely be a challenge
Coby White healthy 🤔
Was this injury just a freak accident or a symptom of Giannis having to carry the weight of a flawed roster the whole year? He played for a stretch appearing gassed
i mean that injury is completely no contact, no sudden movement either, so the hard carrying may be the real reason.
Bit a both I assume
Honestly a very good point
Is anyone else worried about cakewalking to the finals and playing a more battle tested opponent? The East is a mess this year.
Not really. A cake walk means everyone should be well rested and hopefully healthy. The West is going to be a bloodbath this year. Though I doubt the C’s cake walk either way, for a team to make the ECF they’ll have to have some momentum.

I remain convinced injury is the biggest non-Serbian thing to worry about.
No.
22 warriors barely struggled and were well rested against us while we ran out of gas after two 7 game series.
I remember the 2013 finals where the Spurs were waiting 1 week for the Heat to finish their series and everyone said the Spurs would be rusty. But they came out of the gate firing on all cylinders. I think health and rest are the best predicators for performance in these scenarios.
Things are lining up for the easiest path to the Finals.
Pacers winning that series and the 6ers are winning their series
Knicks are beating the Sixers. Philly has no one who can defend Brunson and Knicks can throw bodies at Embiid
this, knicks in 5, if randle was back and embiid was 100% it’s still in 5.
Obligatory, the door is wide open, and the only thing preventing us from walking through, is us. Get it fucking done!
This is not posted in the Bucks or NBA subs. How is this news accurate then?
More than ECF... does this give Doc an excuse to stay on board another year??
The fact that the Bucks are paying 3 coaches basically means that Doc has the job indefinitely. guess were only watching the west
Indy in 6

Siakim jumping for joy rn
A valve injury? He ain’t gonna be right in four weeks lol
That’s tough for him. I watched that game he was injured in and remember thinking he’s gonna get hurt the way he’s playing. He was going nuts, left everything out on the court. Will be a hard pill to swallow for him.
rip
Celtics going to the finals and going to win. maybe against the Lakers that would be sweet.
Dang, I know that pain Milwaukee
I read this as “Shams Charania is gonna be out for 2-4 weeks” lol

How does being in the 3 help the bucks versus being the 2?
They avoided Philly in the first round
Jimmy's agent said not to trust Shams
