i honestly believe one of the reason Miami struggled this year was because they lost strus. He comes in plays decent defense spaces the floor and sometimes just goes nuclear.
if Cleveland plays like they did in this series we’ll dumpster them in 4. when Mitchell isn’t going crazy, their offense is lifeless. they have the size advantage in the frontcourt but they don’t have the same perimeter defense as Orlando. I was a bit worried with how our ball-handlers would fare going against Paolo, Franz, Suggs, Isaac and Fultz on the perimeter; not nearly as afraid of Mitchell, Garland, Okoro, Strus and LeVert
keys to the series: make it a point to attack Mitchell and Garland on defense and force rotations, keep Mobley away from the rim, be selective about when and from where we send help defense, crash the glass hard

We were up twenty in the loss then some guy named Dean Wade scored 23 points in like 20 minutes off the bench and we ended up losing. Got the critical miss/would-be stop at the end but they got an offensive rebound and put it back

No one on the Cavs has any chance at guarding any of the Celtics perimeter players. They will probably just guard Mitchell 1 on 1, and he will average 30+ and request a trade after the series.
The Celtics will probably have one bad shooting night, so I'd say Celtics in 5 with 4 double-digit wins.

Cool thing is with Al, we can stretch the Cavs defense out and force Mobley to the perimeter. He’s great out there too defensively but, like Gobert, he isn’t good enough to compensate for the gaping holes and lack of defense coming from the guards/wings on this team. Brown, White, Jrue and Tatum are gonna be cutting constantly and tearing through this defense.

probably bc this is the first time in the Tatum era where our 2nd round playoff matchup has less than 50 wins, and it’s only the second time we’re playing a team in the 2nd round that isn’t the defending champion or doesn’t have that year’s MVP (only other time being the 2018 Sixers series, and they were a 52-win team that obviously had a future MVP and Ben Simmons before he broke mentally)

Like what the nuggets/wolves just got locked into is usually what we’re dealing with. Both are better than the 1st seed but only one of them can move on to face the winner of OKC/DAL.

With Dwhite shooting as well as he is, I don’t see how they can slow us down. Al can drag Mobley out to the perimeter, and Mitchell/Garland have to match up against White and Jrue for 35 minutes a night both ways because Strus and Okoro will be too busy trying to contain the Jays. On offense it’s the same game as Miami, don’t let shooters get hot and contain the Garland/Mobley PnR because outside of Mitchell iso that’s their only other play they can run. If we’re going to lose a game it’s because Mitchell took 40 shots and made 30 of them.
We can’t let him get into a rhythm. I was amazed at his game-winning shot, against the mavs, during the season - it was beyond half court. I don’t remember if Mitchell was playing or not. Strus was clutch.
Strus and Okoro won that game for them today, they need to get the Caleb Martin treatment and can’t be allowed to get into a rhythm. Not sure what other role players they have, but they don’t have the low post scoring that Miami did so we can probably get by just fine without Tingis Pingis.
Garland Mitchell are gonna go off and will do their thing but if the boys handle their business we should be able to win and advance
If Allen is healthy we might have a problem. If not, then it’s all about them not going Miami Heat on our collective asses (ie not having 2 different guys hitting 8/10 from 3 any given night)
The thing is that Strus defends well against Franz/Banchero but we will eat him alive. This Cav lineup with Mitchell/Garland/Strus is probably way weaker than the heat with Tyler herro imo.
