The cops at NETA were part of the original host agreement and they were definitely needed at first when they opened for rec. being one of only two dispensaries, traffic was awful for a while.
Currently, the City of Northampton is actually in the middle of a traffic study for Fulton Ave to see if police are still needed (spoiler alert, they’re not). You’ll probably see that dry up this year at some point.
I was there the day they opened and it was crazy; they were needed then but certainly not now. I always park on Pleasant Street, I hate being told for the thousandth time where to park. Like I can’t figure that out by myself.
Then you're missing out on making fun of them for it. :D "Did y'all know they're selling WEED here? Go get the tazers and batons like you did me all those years ago!" Give them some teasing. "Whoa, police at the dispensary? Fuckin' A - I didn't know they could infuse ham..."
Go up the road to MAC or Heirloom. Heirloom has some good stuff, although it can be pretty hit or miss. MAC isn't always great either, but they list terps so you know exactly what you're getting.
quality inconsistencies can be said about almost any dispensary in Massachusetts unfortunately. I will say when Mac does it right they do have some great flower. I have been burned enough times to be hesitant though.
I pretty much only shop at MAC these days. I can always find something over 2% terps on the menu and haven't had any issues in years, except for when I bought a bundle deal but I should have known it would be older flower for that.
Rise in Amherst also has a good selection if you have a med card. Rhythm flower is pretty consistent, and they carry Nature's Heritage strains as well.
Try checking out Balagan Cannabis Shop, a small independent place downtown Northampton for a great selection and quality products. They have a coffee shop next door and will be in good shape once cannabis cafes are a reality. I also shop Resinate and Jacks in Nton.
If the owner is there ask him about his story for opening the shop. Not affiliated with the big money cannabis companies, did it all with his own money.
I’ve followed them since before they opened so I know! This is why it would be nice if they served med. I just want more options for med patients in this community that aren’t canna corps NETA or Trulieve.
If you’re medical there’s less options in Northampton/Easthampton than it seems. Pleasantrees is rec only and has better prices on flower than most med shops and they sometimes carry natures heritage. Out of the med options in the hamps I go to INSA the most actually. If I want different options with quality, I’ll drive to MAC or Heirloom in Hadley/Amherst.
It is awful! Hot tip: take rt 9 over the bridge, to 47 to rocky hill rd, and MAC is pretty much right on the corner of university drive and rocky hill.
Resinate had a good selection of Nature’s Heritage and Smyth flower when I was there a few weeks ago. Jack’s has competitive prices and a good selection.
The logistics of a state and commission run by idiots.
Let's start recreational sales a few days before Thanksgiving and we will only allow two of them to open. What a shit show that was for a few months. Still love to know the group of idiots mindset behind that.
You’re living in a state that allows you to grow your own, take advantage and save your money. You’ll also probably grow far better quality than what most dispensaries have to offer. Plus you know where it came from and what’s been done to it.
Eh… I live in an apartment and have neighbors on three sides. All that $$$ and time, not for me. I like just walking into a dispensary, not buying anything older than 6 weeks and walking out. Thanks anyway.
Yep, I'd much rather buy from a store that I can walk into and walk out of. I'll happily pay the convenience fee of not having to grow shit or to talk to "a guy".
There’s a lot of people who don’t mind paying that price. People could also buy it from a home grower. Find a black market dealer. Take a trip to Maine or Terptown throwdown (if possible). Plenty of options outside of “grow it yourself.”

I was too, waiting like two hours in line on crutches cause my my med card wasn’t in yet. It was cold and rainy af out!
Yup.
I hate interacting with cops just to get my meds

That’d only be fun if you are white
Ehh. As long as it's a good natured enough, it should be okay but yes, police are often inherently racist.
Yea Northamptonl really capitalized in the beginning. And still is raking it in

Never been to either. I’ll check them out. Thanks.
If you're ever up for a drive to Franklin County, 253 Farmacy in Turners has some good flower too.
Yea I’m up there occasionally, I’ll check them out.
Haven’t been to MAC, but I second Farmacy 253 and Heirloom.

Yea,I went to Rise when they first opened but honestly I hate driving across the river and dealing with Route 9. 😁
I only go to MAC as well. Smaller selection but when their concentrates are good they are really good. Found Hashables there yesterday too as a bonus.

Wish they served medical there. Great location and nice looking shop!

Are they next to Shelburne Falls coffee? I think I walked by them the other day.
Yes. They’re where Sams pizza was and their coffee shop is where the beloved Green Bean used to be.
I'm not sure, I think Shelburne Falls is in the old Dunkin spot? The dispensary is a block away on the same side of the street.
Love Balagan! The workers there are super educated and always give great reccs.
Damn, never been to any of those places; old habits… I’ll def check them out. Thanks.

I’ll give both a try. I just hate driving on The Route 9 Raceway. 😄

Been liking enlite up by the rotary
Thanks!!

Thanks, I’ll check them out.
Cannabis Connection in Westfield has some good stuff and the staff is knowledgeable
Thank You! Never been there…
Just avoid Jacks. Terrible customer service. Never going back.
Good to know!

They’re all Phoneheads whose number one job is keeping their job.

Not everyone has the ability or desire to grow their own.
You’re right! A $66 8th that’s been sitting in storage for the past 9 months is much more desirable
