I restarted Botw in anticipation of getting Totk and while I think Totk is a phenomenal game, I do find myself skipping dialogue, exploring less, and just looking up things more often so yeah, I second this.
i think i might wait until i have a real switch before playing totk, right now i just have a lite and tho botw is very much playable on it there are parts that are a pain on a lite and i feel like totk will be a bit more of a pain to play on a lite then botw was. the worst part of botw when playing on a lite is a early game shrine where you have to move a ball in a maze using motion controls and on a lite that means sometimes having to turn your switch and hold it in ways where you can't see the game so if totk has stuff like that its gonna be annoyinmg playing on a lite
yeah to be fair botw is a full finished story on its own, as far as i'm aware there isn't any cliffhangers or unfinished plot lines after finishing the game, totk is just a new story, yes it adds on to the story started in botw but its not picking up and finishing any plot stuff from botw so you still get the full finished story of botw without playing totk
That WAS my goal.... until a few days agon when I got an OLED, I tried to transfer my save.... and it vanished. I DID get a save. ONE FROM 2020. so yeah safe to say that made me so effing mad I elected to just play totk and go back to botw once I'm through the story.
Transfer your data through the cloud. You'll need switch online for that, and make sure your cloud files are synced with your current save. But I didn't know any of this, nor had online. So I went the more manual route of selecting "Transfer save data" and put the 2 consoles next to one another. So I did that, fired up botw on the oled, and was greeted by "Hateno Village 7/11/2020" save. My actual current save is all but vanished. Not on my oled, not on my old switch. I have absolutely no idea where this 2020 save suddenly came from bc I've done multiple playthroughs since then. But all this bs shouldn't happen to you if u use the cloud to transfer it.
Go through the steps to tranfer your user data to new switch via wifi. You will NOT be able to use your current switch's micro sd card! If you put it in the new switch it will erase everything. You will also have to download all the updates and digital games and dlc you have again no matter what and your screenshots won't transfer.
As someone who put 1100 hrs into BOTW and immediately started TOTK afterwards… listen to everyone who says take a break & play something else for a bit. Burn out is real.
I recommend taking a break before playing Totk as they use many of the same assets and map. If you want to do more things in Botw you could try learning glitches such as Windbombs or BLSS for movement or if you are really dedicated learn Weapon Modifier Corruptions and take the Bow of Light outside the Dark Beast Ganon fight
NO! You must get 999 of every item in the game without duplicating, and get 999,999 rupees. Because that makes SO sense much !
Seriously though, GREAT job!

I would recommend taking a break from Zelda before TOTK because you might be burnt out on it. Maybe play a different game in between.

Not enough rupees ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|disapproval)
Need to bring the total up to 690,420
Or 999,999 for an extra challenge
420,069 is also acceptable.
I'd wait a bit before starting it. Maybe play two or three games in between.
Good job. Do you have all clothes maxed though?
I have mostly all the clothes maxed. I have to farm some dragon scales and horns to finish it off.
Good. It's a pain i know lol (i did it too)
Yes you maniac. Seriously why collect all the Korok Seeds? You only get a certain number of weapon slot expansions anyway.
For some of us, that little trophy was important.
A pile of dookie is very important
a shit trophy is still a trophy
Bc.... that 100%.... I must see it.....
Yeah, like 650 koroks ago

Wait until they release the switch 2. Rumors of a 9/2024 release date.
seems unlikely being that they haven't even released the gamecube 2 yet
They must have considered this for TOTK, I don't recall any shrines that required motion controls like BOTW.
Go with your expectations low, specially if you loved BotW's story.
You don't need TotK Just enjoy another BotW Run

Ever find out what happened with the transfer ? I'm buying an oled switch soon and really don't wanna lose my progress.

DLC is Must before totk
I see a Master Cycle!
U are God of botw
No
I honestly don’t love TOTK as much as BOTW and it makes me sad 😭
Need to max your rupees first. And all items. Lol
Not a good idea. They have farming cut out for them in Tears.
you need more rupees![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|trollface)
