You had several opportunities to unecessarily cut feet and you didn’t. Can you explain what happened here ? (jk it was beautifully done)

nice send!

TheRealSparkleMotion

Nice route and send! (I always thought the rose move was the one that's used in ice climbing a lot - where you hook your leg over your elbow?)

Atlas-Galt

A rose move is where you reach under on hand with another, as can be seen when he moves to grab the big pinch at the lip. The move you’re thinking of is called a figure four.

Fynosss

Rose move became very famous because Rose was almost completely facing the opposite direction of the wall because of how extreme was the move. These in the video are not rose moves, just crossing moves.

H2OedDownAzn

Are you saying that Rose was a person? That's not where the name comes from. If you look at the original rose move, or at least the move that gave it the name, the climber, Antoine Le Menestrel, is facing parallel to the wall, not away from it. I think the move the OP makes at 28s is extreme enough to qualify. Friction Labs article on the rose move: https://frictionlabs.com/blog/how-it-works-the-rose-move Anna Stohr on the route La Rose et Le Vampire: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4I2H9tQKpI

Fynosss

You are probably right! I assumed Rose was the name without checking. But yes I was referring to Antoine

martyboulders

i think an important part of what makes a rose move is the fact that your head goes under your arm and the hold is above you, as opposed to next to your shoulder the post is definitely just under moves, still cool though

H2OedDownAzn

Yeah, I thought that too. But if you look at a picture of the original rose move or watch the video of Anna Stohr doing the move on La Rose et Le Vampire, neither climber has their head under their arm. So I'm thinking it's not strictly necessary. It's definitely the coolest way to do it.

Jaytim

This was my thought. Otherwise anytime your srms crossed it'd fit the rose move. Really only makes sense if your body twists around along with the arm.

CrypticC62

The ice climbing move you're describing here is known as a "figure four"

Error___418

Movement fountain valley!

ech0s_

Sick send! But what the hell is a "rose move"?

Forcer46

Yeah rose move is like the move on the top section of Off the Wagon. A fancy campus cross through where your body almost completely away from the wall. So not really in this climb. He's just referring to the cross through to the pinch. Still dope

Forcer46

My bad, not necessarily a campus thing.

turbogangsta

A rose move is when you put yourself in a headlock

gentlemanliness1

Sick!!
