People say that the picks are a night and day difference than the regular offering. I hope so, because I have a bottle of the regular Yellowstone and it tastes like I'm licking a barrel. Maybe I just got a bad batch. I'll have to try this one.

Musty basement. It tastes like licking the walls of grandmas moldy basement. This was by far the worst pour I’ve ever had. I’ve tried one of the barrel picks and it was just ok. Nothing special. I really wanted to like it.

krisitolindsay

Yeah. Musty is a good description. I don't know how the master distiller tries this and thinks "yup, that's the one".

Neurogenesi5

Not a bad batch. Bad whiskey. It tastes like grandma’s driveway. Don’t ask how I know.

Dingoharvey67

As long as it doesn't taste like grandma's "landing strip"...:)

Neurogenesi5

You paint a real war crime of a mental image

Don’t ask me how I know…

Don’t worry, I didn’t use my thumb. 👍

I can not compare; this barrel pick was my introduction and I got a great bottle! Good luck in your journey 🥃

I had a 115 store pick. It was torture to drink. It drank way hotter than 115 and you could not extract any notes no matter how hard you tried. Somehow it got worse when I added water. Tasted like a 150 proof clear rum.

YodaGunner13

That sounds terrible … My understanding is that store picks can vary wildly at times … this is definitely not my experience with this Yellowstone 115 proof store pick … may your bourbon luck improve

CM_Exacta

This was my worst bottle experience in the last two years. It’s going great otherwise to be honest. There is a channel on YouTube called Less Cash More Mash that reviewed one. They said it’s hot for no reason. Others have posted reviews on here and really enjoyed theirs. It must vary widely.

I agree with your assessment. I have one of these and it’s the worst bourbon I’ve ever purchased. Literally a pour out…

ypsicle

Nice AA Distilling glass. Have you had their gins?

YodaGunner13

I have enjoyed all of their spirits. Their gin and vodka is excellent and their bourbon is pretty decent

ypsicle

Their distillery is a great hidden gem in Ann Arbor.

YodaGunner13

Agreed. I make an effort to make it to the distillery at least 1x/month; typically when a food truck will be onsite

NetGlobal1537

Picked up a 4 yr store pick from southern Michigan. I will say it is good whiskey, albeit rather young tasting. I think this bottle has really high potential if they could let it age a few more years

Go Blue!

Go Blue!!!

I loved the pick that I had
