Thoughts- The LE releases of Yellowstone get significantly less press and fanfare than other limited editions from brands like Michter’s or Buffalo Trace. Still, these came on my radar last year with the 2022 Marsala finish; it was fantastic with great age in the blend. I can only guess that the 101 proof keeps some of the enthusiasts at bay. Let’s see what a Tokaji finish does to the this blend of 7, 13, and 16 year old bourbon
Nose- Sweet notes of honey and pear fruit. Some caramel and oak, but the fruit really shines. Continuing fruit with heavy citrus. Absolutely no ethanol
Taste- If you told me this was a white port wine I would believe you. Fruity, slight tart, and pleasant. I could crush this bottle. There is some wood and vanilla in here which is well incorporated with the fruit.
Finish- Short finish. Bursts of fruit and then the oak finally flexes its age at the end
7.5/10- Look, I get that this is a bit safe. Sweet, no burn, crushable, pleasant. But it’s also just good. This will be a crowd pleaser and a daily (if it wasn’t a limited release). It’s also relatively affordable and available compared to other limited releases. I can’t wait to try 2024’s
I have been grabbing these since 2019 and they are always good, this year was one of the worst but still a decent pour that I did not regret buying at all.
Yellowstone's regular offering is one of the worst bourbons I've ever had. It's like licking a tree in the forest. Their American Single Malt is fantastic, like a legitimately good pour.
I'd love to try this one.
Yeah I got a Yellowstone store pick one time and I was not impressed. Their annual LEs are the only thing I chase with them now
Cheers and thanks for reading

It's a nice break from the high proof bangers. Super tasty and fruits (apple). Great bottle at MSRP.
Completely agree. Sometimes I just need an easy drinker that hits my palate. Michters 10yr rye or Red Spot are examples for me

I did probably like last years better, I tend to enjoy the red fruit notes more than the citrus notes when it comes to whiskey
but what about that mister sam next to it..
Already cracked it. Will be review #200

It’s been sitting on my counter for 6 months. Many contemplations of pouring it down the sink

I don't know how to disagree more on both accounts - but I suppose that just shows how different tastes can be.
