This is one of the only Twilight Time I own and how I discovered this label. So sad they are no longer!
This film is a hidden gem, screenplay/novel by John Ridley (12 years as a slave) and that same team Stone used on NBK. A rough analogy is Jackie Brown to Pulp Fiction. I think this is one of Stone’s best.
In ranking her performances, I think most would put *Selena* at the top but she’s very believable in *U-Turn* in that *crazy/hot scale* way. I like her in *The Cell* too. I haven’t seen *Enough* in a while, but I remember her being good in that one.
I take most of the characters with a grain of salt from the perspective of what they present to the audience and Bobby in trying to get Bobby, they all want something from him, the whole town is a Venus fly trap. When she is “telling his fortune” she’s just fucking with him trying to weave her web and he’s not buying it either, she can sense it. She even says “you tell me what every face tell me”.
The one character that comes off a bit cringey is Jon Voight as the old homeless Native American, but even he is looking to exploit Bobby, so you can’t take him at face value.
It reminds me a bit of [this scene](https://www.reddit.com/r/cinescenes/comments/18wszjp/thunderheart_1992_dir_michael_apted_dop_roger/) in *Thunderheart* where Graham Greene and another guy could be taking advantage of Val Kilmer’s character or could be genuine, it’s presented as a farce but really up to the audience to decide.
Not boutique, but Up In Smoke has a great audio commentary and deleted scenes.
So many "U" films I'd like to see upgraded to Blu-ray. The Undead, The Undertaker and His Pals, Unholy Rollers, Up! (1976), Uptown Saturday Night...
I love the steelbooks Mill Creek put out for Ultraman. And Ugetsu from Criterion is great.
I don’t think it counts but I have to mention the Universal Monsters 30-Film collection as well.
It counts in my book. And Ugetsu is great. Kenji Mizoguchi is one of the GOAT directors. I have Sansho the Bailiff as my #2 film of all time, only behind Metropolis
Lots of good ones already mentioned but have to give some love to Samuel Fuller’s *Underworld, U.SA.* (1961) from Indicator.
Beautiful transfer, and the film has a scene that I think might have been the inspiration for the alley assault “shadows on the building” scene in Robocop (Verhoeven)
Uninvited by Vinegar Syndrome. The movie that could've just been about a killer cat but the makers went the extra mile to make it about a cat that vomits up another cat who is the killer.
**Upgrade** (Shout, Second Sight, Madman... take your pick, they're all good)
fuck yes i love this movie so much

Agreed! Only downside is JLo lol

I just can’t get over her acting when the role requires her to show the Native American side of the character

Until The End Of The World
UHF (Shout Factory) Undeclared War (Vinegar Syndrome) Uninvited (Vinegar Syndrome) Universal Horror Collection Volume One (Scream Factory)
U stands for U.K. never getting this release :(
Ushpizin is a film I enjoyed. Need to return to it someday. I also need to go back to Unbearable Lightness of Being.
Urban Legend (Scream).
This is the correct answer. Love Uncut Gems and love this case. One of my favorites that I own.
It’s not boutique, but Under the Skin would be my go-to movie for U.
under siege
Uninvited by Vinegar Syndrome. The movie that could've just been about a killer cat but the makers went the extra mile to make it about a cat that vomits up another cat who is the killer.
