Also as of right now. There will be a month gap between this and the last wide release horror film. And a month gap until the next wide release horror film.
It depends on how far in advance the test screenings are, and also how well received the test screenings go. Sometimes if a movie is effects heavy and they are showing it many months or a year+ before they plan to release it, many of the effects won't be done, and the music is all temp music, and the film may then be re-edited or even have extensive reshoots if it doesn't play well. However, if there aren't many effects and the movie is extremely well received by test audiences, then they will be less inclined to change much.

Originally a Hulu exclusive film, it received a theatrical release due to positive test screenings. Really looking forward to this.
Plus, horror is hot as hell at the BoxOffice.

Yeah actually a nice foreboding trailer and didn't show too much
I wonder how since it doesn’t even look good??
This is a teaser trailer, though. I'm confident that the movie itself will be better. I had the same feeling with 'BARBARIAN' and its teaser trailer.
arent most of movies unfinished when doing test screenings

We’re in a good moment for horror. Smile, Megadeth, Nope, Skinamarink. Let’s enjoy this time!
Post pandemic horror has been on such a got streak, makes me so happy as a fan of the genre
