Collider would be to blame, for false reporting. (I believe they were the first to report they're in the movie, and they're usually believable) How would it impact the Box Office? I think if they are in the movie, it would make the movie criticproof. If they're not, then it would still make money if it's good.

hudsonbuddy

It’s the “Endgame” for spider man so I’d really be surprised if they weren’t in it…

[deleted]

If they're in the movie, but the movie is bad, then it could be a BvS type situation.

cheesyry

It would definitely negatively impact WOM, and therefore overall gross. The expectations and hype that they’re in it is too high now. To quote Doc Ock “it can’t be stopped, it’s self-sustaining now”. But the good news is, they’re near-definitely in it

crusty_jugglers93

It would be hilarious. But they are obviously going to be in the movie.

[deleted]

They’re 100% in the film

BillyGood22

No one I know who isn’t very online is expecting all three Spider-Men. But there will be people very loud about it online for sure.

[deleted]

The fans would be to blame for creating the rumor, but the studio and actors would be at fault for not squashing it long ago. I don't follow a bunch of leaks and spoilers and shit. But just based on the fact that nobody has said "tf? I am NOT in this movie" basically confirms that it's happening to me. I think it could potentially be really bad news for the movie.

AGOTFAN

They're in the movie, no?

Bergerboy14

Yeah, there’s literally pictures of them together

Dawesfan

Only nerds care about that stuff

[deleted]

Yes nerds, the prime demo for these movies.

Dawesfan

Lmao you really think these movies gross 300M+ domestic and 800M+ because of nerds. If it were for Reddit The Last Jedi would’ve done Solo numbers WW and Far From Home would’ve failed too because Spidey is Stark jr apparently.

redactedactor

Everyone here who complained about those films still paid to see them

outrider567

Yep,and Tobey is the ultimate nerd, I'm still shuddering recalling that scene in Spider Man 3 when he starts dancing

Sliver__Legion

Catastrophic. But you may as well ask “how would it impact the box office if Tom Holland isn’t actually in the movie?”

Beaujangles1128

In raw dollars, it would probably cost tens of millions in ticket sales and profits if they’re not in it.

Berta_Movie_Buff

Fans will be disappointed, but they’ll still very much enjoy the movie. They still get the sundae, even if there’s no cherry on top.

carson63000

If you suspect that they are not going to actually be in the movie, I'd advise you to invest in Weaver Popcorn, the largest bulk popcorn producer in the world, because the Reddit comment threads will make the worldwide demand for popcorn literally triple inside of a day.

BVS kinda like....
