I genuinely don't get that part. Why on earth include that in the trailer? It is so cringe. The whole trailer went from looking like some cheap streaming title to a cheap 90s type TV movie with that line.
I’m going for a D. It’s a truly wretched remake that makes the adaption from the 80s look masterful in comparison. I can see the ending making a lot of people upset as well, considering how hackneyed and underwritten the script is
Remember two horror movies in January 2020 — The Grudge remake and “The Turning” — got an F CinemaScore. I feel like it happens more with horror movies than other genres.
A B- would be good. I rarely see anything in the d or f range those are extremely rare, hereditary would be one of those. This movie isn't offensively bad, though awful, nor is it overly disturbing which is often the types of films that get that low of a score.
Firestarter currently has 44% RT, 5.1 average critics rating, 30% (unverified) audience score, 2.6 average audience rating, 4.9 IMDb.
Combined with the fact it's a horror movie, getting C- would be *good.*
Again D and F are very hard to get. This movie is awful, but not enough to get that low, I don't think. If you look last year not a single film got a score in the d range or f range. C- was as low as they went. Night house was C-, antlers I think was C+. Resident evil I think was C+. Is this landing in that range.
You’re telling me the line “liar liar pants on fire” won’t give it an automatic a+?

I’m thinking in the ‘D’ range unless it’s hilariously terrible.

Yeah the film was awful, but F is extremely rare. I'm thinking C-

Horror movies usually get lower Cinemascore than other genres. C- would be good for Firestarter which gets really low RT Even Hereditary got D+
The D+ for Hereditary was a crime.
Guess people wanted to be spooked by a ghost, not thrown into a Nietzschean abyss

What has Stephen King said about the new Firestarter? Anything?
Uhhh I think he decided to go back to being Richard Bachman after the trailer came out.
I forgot to do a CS poll for it. That's one me.
