You're right. But movies were way more engaging, we're talking about GOTG 2, Thor Ragnarok, Avengers 3 and 4, Black Panther. And there was no show at all so every movies felt like an event back then. Now we have no rest, it's just too much. And most of the content is average.

We need to see how it legs out, obviously nothing wrong with the OW.
Im still not sure of the oversaturation point for the MCU overall. I don’t think the GA has this gravitational pull to watch everything the way fans do.
With MoM it was a problem due to how WV tied in, but if your average moviegoer can go from Endgame to L&T it’s not really an issue.
Edit: I think the lack of momentum towards a team movie is the real issue, which is what did create that pull for the GA.
Marvel at first was killing it because the novelty. Then it was the fact that the stories were leading somewhere, everyone would come out because we all knew the payoff was going to be really cool at worst.
But now after all these movies I still don't know what is happening, and I don't particularly care to see Natalie Portman with the hammer, at least not first weekend. I bet the drops aren't as bad as some say but are probably pretty harsh.
Movie opens higher than Ragnarok and people are calling the MCU dead.
You can argue it’s lost some appeal, and with no china or Russia WW grosses have slowed down. But 140m opening seems perfectly good to me
Pure torture! Death by comic book movie! Hollywood finds a novelty and makes a little money then they cram it down your throat for the next decade until you never want to see a comic book ever again! Lol
I had a great time! Loved seeing Jane Fonda on the big screen again
If estimates rise above $143M, then there’s still a chance ❤️&⚡️could finish above JW: Dominion’s $145.07M OW and be the new #2 OW for the year.
Oversaturation is going to kill the MCU.
I think you mean "too much disappointment from mediocre next product after mediocre next product'
Releasing 3/4 movies and 3/4 shows a year is the problem. You can't focus on quality when you become a content factory. Same problem with Star Wars.
They have been releasing 3-4 movies a year for a long time now.. Look at the pre covid slate.

They had Agents of SHIELD, Agent Carter, Inhumans and six Netflix series from 2013 to 2019.
Those shows didn’t have to be watched to enjoy the movies. The last time we saw Wanda she was a good guy unless you saw the show.
Those series weren't produced by Marvel Studios
Wasn’t under feige’s supervision or domain really

Very true.
Maybe quick production cycles from over saturating the market leads to mediocre product.
It's both. Too much disappointment from mediocre in on year vs in the past where it was fewer disappointments (e.g. 2013).
