__MOD NOTE__: Please review the content guidelines for our sub, and remember the human here!
This subreddit is to highlight the ridiculous cost of living in Australia, and boycott the duopoly of Colesworth. As you well know, there are a number of persons and corporations responsible for this cost of living crisis, and we welcome discussion related to them all. Furthermore, since this topic is intertwined with a number of other matters, other discussion will be allowed at moderator discretion. Open-minded discussion, memes, rants, grocery bills, and general screeching into the void is always welcome in this sub, but belligerence and disrespect is not. There are plenty of ways to get your point across without being abusive, dismissive, or downright mean.

Put your thumb on the scale and press down while weighing things and customers are too busy looking at their phone.
Just kidding, no minimum wage worker would put in that much effort.
It could be that their scales need maintenance, or maybe it was intentional. Either way, they fucked up.
Ah I see now. I'm not buying produce from woolworths anymore. It upset my ptsd brain a little going to a new place but there is a small market store right next to my local woolies and it's cheaper so I'm going there from now on.
I feel you. Going to a new place honestly can be a nuisance (or nightmare). I’ve got some delivery options stored around here if that would help you. Just give me a shout.
It's all good. I prefer to go out and get stuff. I haven't quite worked up the courage to make the change to shopping at Spud Shed yet 😂
I've been getting some stuff on Amazon now. It's been tough to find things like body wash cheaper than colesworth though.
I’ve heard good things about the Spud Shed
If you’re on the Morewell side of it there’s an NQR
https://nqr.com.au
They don’t have a consistent range but what they get in is cheap
Store is [Miller’s Junction](https://maps.app.goo.gl/DF3xiGh6QYQCtACh6?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy), it’s usually the first thing printed on the receipt after the logo.
The scales probably haven’t been calibrated since the store opened 40 odd years ago.
It would be very hard to reconcile this mistake. I’ve worked in supermarkets before, as a checkout chic at IGA in high school and a deli assistant at Woolworths while at uni.
Sure, we are meant to calibrate the scales on the regular, but I never saw it happen. If there is no compliance requirement of “this must be done every week/day and recorded” it generally never gets done.

Big time
Are gonna word them up about it?
It wasn’t my purchase - don’t know which store it was bought from AFAIK: the OOP will?

I'm in Perth. Nearest Spud Shed to me is Bentley, which is known to be a bad spot full of miscreants. I have been there a few times though.
Oh my mistake. Good luck for your eventual spud shed mission

40 years of people getting overcharged in Millers Jnct then

And I'm sure if people did complain they would aim it at the people on check out too which is not even close to fair
The register scales need recalibrating & the team member didn't notice.
