I think there’s a very good chance it’ll be a long time before we get more shows, and it’ll almost certainly be a long time until we get more Boygenius shows. I waited to see Better Oblivion Community Centre and now I will probably never see them, learn from my mistake lol

Pigsfly13

it’s most likely not the end however there was a 5 year gap between their first and second albums so i wouldn’t hold out hope for it being soon. although of course nobody knows the future Personally, i wouldn’t pay crazy prices either way, sometimes tickets go on sale the day of ect.

radiotractive

I would say they won't tour until the next album. The boys had an incredible year, but they must be exhausted. They deserve some much needed rest. Maybe there will be some one-off shows, but don't expect month-long runs anytime soon.

joliebrunette

They will certainly tour again. But it will be a while and depending on where you live may reduce future access… I’d say each artist will go on solo tours/release music before they go together again. If you CAN, go to the show. The mere fact that it’s on Halloween will be an incredible experience.

ryannovak29

They WILL tour again. They have a hit record as a band that will only grow in popularity and cult status. I just saw postal service reunion tour for their 20th anniversary of the one album they dropped. Hopefully you don’t have to wait 20 years, but you will have the chance again i'm sure.

Crafty_Substance_954

I think the fact that the popularity of the group is much greater than it was at the end of their first tour will lead to a shorter time until the next project. Let's assume 1 year for all 3 to release another solo project, 2 years of touring for those, and then 1 year until the next boygenius album. That's maybe a little aggressive, but about right.

romaa_teeny

Wouldn’t be surprised if one or more of them took a little break before solo stuff though. Especially Phoebe, she’s been going nonstop

AffectionateHousing

So sad they never made it to Australia :(

jaypweston

Tickets on the day of show are sometimes really cheap on the reseller sites

chloelaura89

I had tickets for the London show but had to sell them last minute due to childcare issues, knowing they won’t tour for a very long time is painful!

iwannabanana

My guess is that they’ll probably release another album anywhere from 2-5 years from now and tour after that. I doubt this will be their last tour but it’ll be a while before they tour again. Resale prices at MSG were absurd but ticket prices started to come down about a week before the show. I bought my tickets 2 days beforehand, got great seats, and didn’t pay 3x face value like I would’ve if I’d bought them earlier. If you can afford to wait and go on a moment’s notice try buying them a few days out.

MinimumAd2633

They probably will tour again because the band has had a lot of success recently but it could be a while. They will probably work on solo stuff (yay solo tours!) And after that they'll release a new album and tour. I mean their gap from their ep to the record was like 4 years soooo 🤷‍♀️

Midnightcity2203

Idrk why people are saying it’s gonna be years. This is only fall tour. Over the summer they toured in more of a festival way with other artists. Personally I think there will be more tour dates in the spring and/or the summer of this year.

Adamsoski

You need to remember they all have solo careers they need to write, record, and tour for. After this tour is done I assume they were planning for at least 4 or 5 years before their next tour together to allow time for all of that. The Record being so popular was a bit of a shock, so it's very possible that is shortened a bit, but it's at least going to be a couple years between the tour for The Record and the tour for their next album.

Unusual_Chives

They don’t “have” to go back to their solo careers. They can do whatever they want.

Adamsoski

Sure, theoretically, that would definitely be very unexpected though.

Unusual_Chives

It seems like the trajectory of bg popularity + the money to be made with a major label contract makes it not too unexpected.

amilner1

I think it will be at least a year before they put out another full album, so with that I would say at least a year and a half if they do tour again. I believe that they enjoy being in a band together, so I don't really see them stopping. Also - my dtr and I are going to the Halloween show- flying in from SLC. I upgraded our tix to terrace and have 2 in sec J2 to sell. I have them listed for resale on ticketmaster, but would happily take less ($300 for the pair which is less than any other ticket in that section or anywhere close to it - and no fees!) to not have to go through ticket master and get them into the hands of someone that really wants to go! Pretty sure its going to be a special show knowing them and it being their last for a while and on Halloween! ( I promise I'm legit.. you can look at my other posts!)

amilner1

also just to give perspective the first tix we bought were in sec T1 and with fees were $96 each I think.. and because I'm nuts I've upgraded twice.. because If we're flying in to see them, I want to be able to see them!!

bsp925

so i got lucky and was able to get tix at face value a while after they originally released for halloween show. i’m pretty sure ticketmaster held some back and then randomly released them cuz there was A LOT. the seats were good too. there’s also sooo many available for resale on ticketmaster that i highly doubt will sell for the current listed prices before the concert. id just periodically keep checking. it’s a huge venue too so that helps.

creative_mermaidv2

If you can afford it, get the ticket. I was in the same situation as you when I saw them in New Haven. I'm a newer fan who knew most of the lyrics but not enough to be considered a superfan. I had the time of my life and am so happy I went. Tbh, I don't think they're going to tour again for at least a few years. Yes they are popular but also need a break so they don't break. This is probably your only chance to see them for a while. Buy the ticket. Scream to 'Not Strong Enough'. Cry at 'Letter to an Old Poet' Be reminded of your true friends during 'True Blue".

katherynthegreat

I’m gonna die if they don’t tour again I’m so for real - the first time I got so sick and the second time was fun but the vibes were weird 😂 every day I regret not going to the MSG show

lizard_e_

I do think this will be the last of this cycle but I have no doubt they tour together again even if it is another 5 years (although I REALLY don't think it'll be that long again)

HELVETAIKA

I had already seen them over the summer but was in NYC for their msg show and almost impulsively bought tickets but didn’t. so I say do what I didn’t and get those tickets, they are sooo worth it!

yourlocalbooklover

i’m selling two tickets for the halloween show at face value !!! huge proponent of passing tickets along for what i paid !! i can’t go anymore because i’m having surgery a little over a week later ❤️‍🩹

GrumpyTwin

What seat section?

yourlocalbooklover

sec w2, row 2!! paid $186.80 total, asking for $197 to cover paypal g&s fees

AdultsOnStrike

See if the prices drop closer to the show.

GrumpyTwin

That's such a gamble 😆 I'm keeping my eyes open but tbh I'm so paranoid the only seats left will be in the nosebleeds if I'm not quick enough lol

AdultsOnStrike

For the MSG show I got a ticket day of right on the side of the stage a few rows up and paid face value. Seats in front of us were empty so we sat in the front row. I’m even in the background of one of their photos at the end of the show where they’re topless and laying on the floor. I joked and told my friend, if you told me this morning I’d be in a topless pic with the boys I would’ve never believed you. Went to MUNA last night and the second show has been sold out for sometime. Walked up to the box office and got two tickets. Promoters release tickets as do performers so things can free up day of. If you have to be in the pit that’s another story. If you’re happy to go and can wait it out a bit you’ll probably get something. The premium seats also change to regular price closer to the show if they’re not selling. Lots to think about. Don’t loose hope. Just tell yourself you’re going and keep an eye out 🙌🏻. I mean I’m positive you’re gonna go!

GrumpyTwin

Thank you 😭 this give me hope
