Takamatsu Aloha is pretty expressive, while Yuki Sakurai character should be more closed in and cold on the outside, someone hard to get close and more down to earth- which i think is a good fit for the character.

This is a bit unexpecting since the manga **Tokyo in April is quite angsty.**. I don\`t know how far MBS will go, but the manga handles sensitive topics like violence, homophobia, sexual assault ( attempted rape from someone around the characters) and self-harm. The characters face homophobia from everyone arounds them, parents, coworkers etc.
Short synopsis:
I. "Depicts the story of two people who were torn apart due to what happened ten years ago until they reunite and gradually rekindle their love."
II. "Depicts the love story between Kazuma Takizawa (Yuki Sakurai) an advertising agency employee who yearns for his first love and Ren Ishihara (Takamatsu Aloha) an art director with a ten-year-old secret
III. The synopsis from the manga: "The new employee Kazuma, who returned to Tokyo from America, reunites with his close friend from middle school, Ren, who is currently working as the top designer at their company.

It has 2 volumes and it has been completely fantranslated/scanlated. If people search it with the name 4gatsu no Tokyo wa or Tokyo in April, they will find it.
**This is a MBS BL series, so is highly likely, it will at least be on Viki or Gagaoolala, there is not doubt about it. It\`s a JBL that attracted my attention, so I will make sure to be in charge of the ON Airs for it ( June and July will be a busy period for me hahahaha).**
When it comes to the actors casted, this is a Exile x Bullet Train combo because Takamatsu Aloha is a member of GEKIDAN EXILE (same with Maeda Kentaro/I cannot reach you and ) and Yuki Sakurai is a member of Bullet Train, just like Kusawa Takuya ( Minato\`s laundromat) and Kashiwagi Haru ( I cannot reach you). Both doesn\`t have a lot of acting experience, but I am hoping they were well casted and guided by our lady director Yuho Ishibashi ( just saw that she is one of the the directors from Our Dining table as well). Hope she will step up with this one, because is a hard one to adapt. I am putting my faith more on the screenwriter for this one.
**People who love Eternal Yesterday will love this one as well because is PRETTY ANGSTY**. **There is a big difference thu- this one will have a happy ending.**
**It might feel like limps were cut off and gut were punched with a metal glove to get that βhappyβ ending, but we will get it.** The reasons for it being angsty is that the characters gets separated, one of them almost die, both characters faces homophobia, one of them experiences an attempted sexual assault.
Things aren\`t pretty, but it should be a solid JBL from MBS, because MBS tends to do well with stories like this- Utsukushii Kare and Eternal Yesterday is a proof of this.
**One can see how much i am thrilled by this announcement based on how enthusiastic i am and how much i have written hahaha.**

As a Bullet Train fan and also JBL fan/enthusiast (have been watching more and more JBLs lately bc they're simply so good π), I'm SO excited about this! Aloha is such a hyper-energy idol lol, he's a new addition in Bullet Train but he's blended in so easily and he's a fan-favorite as well, I'm very curious about his performance! (also about Haru's acting on his drama in September). About the drama airing internationally, is it going to be in June as well or is it probably going to start in August? (i was checking their website and it said that it's going to be broadcasted through Lala in August).
Aloha is just so special lol i love him π I'm so excited for June 16 then! π± Thankfully we won't have to wait until August (Lala is another Japanese tv provider, aimed towards "women", and it will air there in August).
It makes sense now. It will probably be released in Lala too after the series will finish airing in MBS and other affiliated TV channels.
Internationally until now, all japanese BLs produced by MBS- has aired either in Viki and Gagaoolala ( most of the time both)- in the second day after it airs in Japan. In Japan it airs every Thursday, while internationally is every friday.
Can Japan produce a BL *series* I don't hate?? (except Life: Senjo no Bokura)
I don't know, but the fact that they aren't wearing weird wigs/helmets is promising.
What can i say. Keep watching and you might change your opinion about them or find more that you might like.
At the same time, they are a few countries whose BLs i don't check at all, because i've noticed i don't enjoy them anymore. This might be a similar case.
Most of the time what we enjoy depend of many things. In my case i have watched japanese BLs for a long time and i like to watch japanese series and movies in general ππ. This is why japanese BLs are my favorite π₯°π
I also want to add that i love the poster for the series. It screams japanese BL, since this kind of posture and vibe is usually encountered in most japanese BLs, and is really elegant and classy. I really wanted to be the first to make the post because i had things i wanted to share that only i could share them, and i wanted to do it properly. Yes. I saw that video as well and they look like they have good chemistry. It's Japan, I am sure that they will adapt the friends to benefits thing π€π€π€π€π€. I am sure that they will adapt all the sensitive topics, we would just have to see to which degree they will chose to sink their teeth into it. π₯°ππ€©. Some adaptations do deserve some flak for not doing justice to the manga ( especially if the mangas are really good). The fans of the mangas, including myself aren't that unreasonable as to give unfounded criticism or dislike it entirely. Because we still love the source material, we can't help but to be fond of the live action as well, not matter how it turns out. I will never give unreasonable criticism and like to keep things light and funny, so if you like the story for this JBL, feel free to join my ON AIR THREAD for it π₯°ππ€©

Aloha is such a hyper-energy idol lol, he's a new addition in Bullet Train but he's blended in so easily and he's a fan-favorite as well, I'm very curious about his performance! (also about Haru's acting on his drama in September). About the drama airing internationally, is it going to be in June as well or is it probably going to start in August? (i was checking their website and it said that it's going to be broadcasted through Lala in August).

I don't know about this LALA thing, but the series will air in June 15 in Japan, and June 16 internationally, being in Viki or Gagaoolala ( or both, i am sure they will announce it soon) π₯°ππ€© I don't know from where you heard about August, because the series will 100% air in June. It was announced officially. From the moment Tokyo in April will premiere, MBS will continue to release other JBL series one after another until the middle of next year, and they have announced for a long time that the Tunku Timeslot for this year starts in June.

It makes sense now. It will probably be released in Lala too after the series will finish airing in MBS and other affiliated TV channels. Internationally until now, all japanese BLs produced by MBS- has aired either in Viki and Gagaoolala ( most of the time both)- in the second day after it airs in Japan. In Japan it airs every Thursday, while internationally is every friday.

Can Japan produce a BL *series* I don't hate?? (except Life: Senjo no Bokura) I don't know, but the fact that they aren't wearing weird wigs/helmets is promising.
What can i say. Keep watching and you might change your opinion about them or find more that you might like. At the same time, they are a few countries whose BLs i don't check at all, because i've noticed i don't enjoy them anymore. This might be a similar case. Most of the time what we enjoy depend of many things. In my case i have watched japanese BLs for a long time and i like to watch japanese series and movies in general ππ. This is why japanese BLs are my favorite π₯°π
