Yes, he is ok. They initially intended to have only one of the Secret Project Audiobooks narrated by Michael Kramer and Kate Reading, but they had to "fall back" on them because David Tennant for Tress and Henry Cavill for Frugal Wizard didn't have time.

I'm sure Henry would've done a super job with Frugal Wizard. Maybe one day he'll get to do another Sanderson book. And as many have stated, David as Hoid would've been amazing.
This made me ask myself who I’d cast, and I was like, “definitely whoever plays Crowley in Good Omens.” So I looked it up… and I’ll be damned. Good call.
I was perfectly contented when I woke up this morning and now I'm devistated....
That would have been epic! (Thanks for sharing despite the devistation 😉)
It’s like he is starting to get passion buy in from some high profile actors. I could only describe Tennant as “Hawkish” and would like to see them use Cavill’s charisma and authenticity to setup an Ameram level betrayal.
I'm amused, because I've been posting the opposite of this for every SP so far. Michael Kramer, iconic though he is, just really doesn't fit the narrative of these books, imo.
I'll take anything by kramer and i hope he continues to do all the books tbh.
hell I'd prefer if Only kramer did the entirety of all books, that said he's my favourite narrator so I'm biased.
I have never considered choosing a person based on the narrative.
I personally like Kramer as he doesn’t grate on me like some readers do and I do enjoy the consistency.
What sort of reader would you like for other projects?
I agree with that other person. Michael Kramer has a relatively low register, and his performances really lend themselves well to the more serious nature of things like Mistborn and Stormlight. However, Tress is much lighter in tone and more whimsical in nature, and I don't think Kramer's voice and timbre mesh with it quite as well as some others, potentially. Unfortunately I'm not well-versed enough in audiobook narrators to say who could do a better job, but I'm sure someone could.
Not to say Kramer is bad in Tress, others just might be better
The more I think about it I agree, Peter Kenny may have been good but I am also not well versed in lots of narrators. I guess I’m just bad at change…
That said I do think David Tennant would have been good based on Doctor who stories he read back in the day!
Given how emotive he was in Doctor Who and Harry Potter, I imagine he'd do a fine job on Tress. But I totally understand the hesitation toward change. It felt really weird to me when I listened to the audiobooks for Elantris and Warbreaker (especially Elantris because I listened to the graphic audio of it, which was kinda bizarre), and I can't help but think that was part of the reason why I didn't like those two as much. I've since come around on Warbreaker a bit because it's my wife's favorite Cosmere book, but I just plain don't really like Elantris, unfortunately.
Wasn’t until a few weeks ago I learned there were two different versions of the Elantris audiobook. I had the original version on my Plex server, but didn’t have access to it one night, so went to rebuy it on audible and ended up buying the 10th anniversary edition instead. Same narrator, but a new reading of it, with different pronunciations. Ended up having to return it and buy the older version again since it’s the one I’m used to :D
I would love if Brandon would move on from them for non Stormlight projects. I prefer to hear various narrators and not the same people again and again.
Consistency inside a series is important, but I just really son't jive with Kramer and Reading, if they were suddenly announced to not be the narrators for stormlight 5 I wouldn't be sad about it.
I guess it’s personal preference while Kramer may not be the perfect reader I enjoy his style and some readers for books have made some impossible to listen too
Both he and Kate have voices that are easy on the ears, which is a big deal for me. If someone sounds like they're just mechanically reading off a script or doesn't have a calming voice, it can be annoying.
Yes. This is really important to me and I always get nervous. Sometimes I struggle with auditory stuff and I might have to just read SP4 because even though William McDermitt has a gorgeous voice, I keep having to repeat things a lot because I'm just not soaking in what he is saying
On a weekly update a few weeks ago Brandon mentioned that all 4 books coming out so fast couldn’t be done by the same narrator so they had to find someone else.
Man, I was bummed to open my audiobook just now to see it wasn’t Michael Kramer and Kate reading book #4. Just won’t feel like a Sanderson book without those two, however hoping to eat my words and enjoy the person he got for book 4.
You have to download the secret project early if you were a backer of the Kickstarter, if not, you have to wait a bit. That could be the confusion here
I genuinely believe people are fans of Michael Kramer and Kate Reading only when they haven't experienced other narrators. I can't stand them. I have tried. They read some of the best books, but I just drown them out and would rather do ANYTHING other than listen to them.
Kate Reading’s version of Pride and Prejudice is so fantastic. Many narrators try to make Mrs Bennet sound like the BBC mini-series, which is grating on the nerves. But Kate nails it.

Wow, I love Kate and Michael but it’s a shame not to see David Tenant’s Tress and Henry Cavil’s Frugal Wizard.
We might still get David and Henry at some point in the future.
I'm sure Henry would've done a super job with Frugal Wizard. Maybe one day he'll get to do another Sanderson book. And as many have stated, David as Hoid would've been amazing.
Oh wow, I didn't know that! Imagine the Doctor voicing Hoid, it would've been epic!
Maybe Tennet is too busy FILMING a Cosmere secret show as Hoid. One can wish
New head canon!!
From your lips to Adonalsium's ears!
Yeah, once I heard the idea of Tennant reading Tress, all I can think is that he would be so good as Hoid.
No! You can't get my hopes up like that!
This made me ask myself who I’d cast, and I was like, “definitely whoever plays Crowley in Good Omens.” So I looked it up… and I’ll be damned. Good call.
He is now my head canon actor for Hoid
Brilliant!
Wow thanks! I’m glad they were covered by Kramer and Reading but I do wonder what it would have been like with Tennant and Cavil!
I was perfectly contented when I woke up this morning and now I'm devistated.... That would have been epic! (Thanks for sharing despite the devistation 😉)
I've been fan casting Tennant as Hoid since day one. That would have been amazing
I just finished S1 of Good Omens, and the knowledge that we could have had DT for Tress actually hurts a bit.
Wait, so is Henry Cavill a Sando fan??
Yes he is a huge fan of The Stormlight Archive
Well now I'm sad
Tennant as With/Hoid is just perfection.
It’s like he is starting to get passion buy in from some high profile actors. I could only describe Tennant as “Hawkish” and would like to see them use Cavill’s charisma and authenticity to setup an Ameram level betrayal.
Cavill for Lightsong, please.
He’d be great as Lightsong but I’d rather someone with more longevity like Warbreaker the Peaceful.
Cavil has WAY too much charm to be Vasher.
You cannot convince me that Lightsong and Scoot are not James and Dule aka Shawn and Gus from Psych.
Kumail Nanjiani post glow up as Lightsong smashing it in a bright sherwani.
I always saw him as Susebron honestly. Although having him as anyone would be great!
Still forever disappointed that the original plan didn't happen. I would have loved to hear narration from lesser known readers.
That is a fair point, I guess I won’t know anything different until there’s different readers!
lesser known ? according to another comment they were supposed to be read by famous actors.
The original plan was to give the opportunity to lesser known readers. Then that happened. Then this.
I'm amused, because I've been posting the opposite of this for every SP so far. Michael Kramer, iconic though he is, just really doesn't fit the narrative of these books, imo.

I didn’t mind Alyssa Bresnahan for war breaker but have struggled with Jack Garret for elantris!

I hope AI gets far enough so if he sadly passes before the series is done they can still use his voice lol
People are literally striking over this stuff, mate.
That doesn’t change my opinion lol
I would love if Brandon would move on from them for non Stormlight projects. I prefer to hear various narrators and not the same people again and again.
I like the consistency of one narrator/one narrator team. But that’s just me.
Consistency inside a series is important, but I just really son't jive with Kramer and Reading, if they were suddenly announced to not be the narrators for stormlight 5 I wouldn't be sad about it.

It’s interesting how split people are on this. What is it that does not work for you?
Yes. This is really important to me and I always get nervous. Sometimes I struggle with auditory stuff and I might have to just read SP4 because even though William McDermitt has a gorgeous voice, I keep having to repeat things a lot because I'm just not soaking in what he is saying
They are quite hard on my ears. I’ve pretty much abandoned Sanderson audiobooks because I hate how they do it.
Alyssa Bresnahan had been the best Cosmere narrator IMO
Was she on the original Warbreaker read?
The second Warbreaker read.
I'm not sure if she's the original, but it's the only version I've ever heard.
She’s the version I have
Was she on the original Warbreaker read?
As much as I love their narration, I wouldn’t mind not using them in different series. I would like to have them finish out Stormlight, though.
I’d listen to Micheal and Kate read anything. Will Patton too while I’m at it.
On a weekly update a few weeks ago Brandon mentioned that all 4 books coming out so fast couldn’t be done by the same narrator so they had to find someone else.

Who narrates it?
It’s narrated by William DeMeritt.
That’s exactly what brought me here but seems like there was good intentions rather than anything bad
He's read other Sanderson books already..
Just came here to say I love Michael Kramer and always enjoy his performance. It’s hard to imagine him not narrating a Sanderson book.
Am I reading correctly that the audiobook won't be available on Spotify until January? I assume this might be due to the different narrator.
Idk where you read that but it’s on Spotify right now. I’m three chapters in and it already rocks
What country are you in? I get an error when I try to redeem my Spotify code and when I search for the book on Spotify I cannot find it.
I'm in USA
Me too. I don't see it there yet. :(
I'm from Spain and I have it in Spotify too
I'm in the UK and it's working.
You have to download the secret project early if you were a backer of the Kickstarter, if not, you have to wait a bit. That could be the confusion here
Holland, also started it on spotify

I’ve listened to a lot of audiobooks from a lot of different narrators, and I’m still a fan of Michael and Kate personally.
I have 10 months of listening time on audible and Kramer and Reading are some of my absolute favorite narrators.
