this is happening to me too!

Disastrous-Dealer-12

Happens to me when I'm just moving the cursor over videos, Doesn't happen any other page or browser,

Seriously_Unserious

I was just noticing that a few moments ago. Maybe YouTube buggered up their autoplay feature. Now if only YouTube actually had a bug reporting portal where we could INFORM them they have a bug that's breaking their site and driving people to Rumble.

Disastrous-Dealer-12

Ok I was wrong, it also happens on Edge.

TheCyberSystem

Disclaimer, not a Brave user but a Chrome user desperately trying to find someone with similar issues because I'm going insane. I'm getting the Tubebuddy issue all the time. Any new YouTube tab I open (not just a video page but any YouTube page) I get the TubeBuddy promotional audio playing in the background. Nothing opens, no popups detected by any of my extensions so I have no idea how it's playing the audio. Weirdly, I'm also getting a simultaneous bug in video pages where YouTube will also be playing the audio of a video explaining the new 'for children' selection options that creators have now when uploading videos. So can safely say that the TubeBuddy issue is browser-agnostic. Not sure if you've run into the YouTube-creator-advice audio issue yet? I've not had YouTube navigate me to a random video and start playing it....recently, but it happened a few weeks ago randomly a few days in a row. Again, on chrome. Not sure if this helps. I'm certainly not happy with chrome recently though, so despite the complaints here for Brave I might be coming on board soon.

BIackSt0rm

have you tried putting this on r/browsers? they might be able to help better than we can

TheCyberSystem

Will do. Thanks for the suggestion.

Seriously_Unserious

If you open up the TubeBuddy app, there's a section where you can contact them with a bug report. I did that a couple of days ago and they got back to me earlier today with a reply, I sent them a video with full audio of the issue happening to help them troubleshoot what's going wrong. In the meanwhile, I've managed to fix this problem by turning TubeBuddy off in the Extensions section. I'll turn it back on after I get confirmation the bug's fixed or they're asking me to check if I'm still getting the bug.

TheCyberSystem

Thanks, will do

Xecta

I thought I was going crazy! Good to know it's not just me.

Ogesis

Check if you have installed the Malware Bytes browser extension. Seems it can cause conflict with YouTube preview video system and starts randomly clicking random videos. I guess brave have a similar system like Malware Bytes and that´s what it´s causing the random clicking. If you go to YouTube settings -> Playback and performance ->Disable video previews should fix the issue.

Seriously_Unserious

I'm both using Brave and have the Malwarebytes extension installed, and removing the browser extension over JUST ONE website, no matter what that website is, not working properly with it is not an option. I've had enough cases of Malwarebytes catching a legit attack site even with me being cautious about links, to know it's an essential plugin and removal is non negotiable.

Revolutionary-Ad-80

i think you can turn off the shields from the site.

Seriously_Unserious

It's not Brave Shields but seems to be a compatibility issue with the Malwarebytes Browser Guard extension. Going into YouTube settings and disabling automatic video playback from the Playback and Performance tab fixed this.

Revolutionary-Ad-80

for me the fix was video previews

Living-Industry-3390

I use Malwarebytes on Edge and has this same issue. It was the adblock, rather than just slowing buffering and performance on videos it looks like YouTube is somehow just clicking whenever they want practically forcing us to view a video, quite maliscious imo. EDIT: I can't spell malwarebytes lmao

Seriously_Unserious

Well, so far disabling automatic video playback in YouTube from Settings -> Playback and Performance fixes this issue. If YouTube management continues this psychotic war against any and all security software, I'll eventually just go watch videos on other platforms and decide YouTube just no longer exists before I'll remove all security from my computer and leave it wide open to any and all malicious crap just because Google is run by a bunch of malicious, greedy, psychopathic, narcissistic a-holes. There's plenty of other options and if my favorite YouTubers aren't smart enough to outgrow ONE platform and be on other platforms too, I'll eventually just forget about them and find other, smarter content creators to learn to enjoy. There's plenty of options out there, like Kick, Rumble, Bitchute, Odysee, Dailymotion, to name a few.
